I saw it about a week ago.
The effects were fantastic, but everything else was really 'meh'.

The special effects were spectacular, but the story was pretty much Pocahantas in space, I thought. I will honestly be kinda disappointed if it gets best picture.

A lot of people are saying that this changes the definition of movies. I think it changes the definition of how a movie can convey itself to an audience, certainly. But beneath the polish, it's a semi-entertaining tale at best.

I liked it.
Or, more accurately, I liked the effects. The story was eh.

I was sad when Sigorney Weaver's character died though.

I was sad when they hauled out her wrinkly, old, and naked body.

It was okay, I guess. (Amazing affects. I saw it in 3-D) I thought the first hour or so of the movie was boring, and confusing, but after a while, it got better.
Buuut everyone in my family that saw it all agreed that it seemed like James Cameron was trying to make Americans look like terrible people (which we pretty much are). Like, Americans are going to go to another planet and kill off the race that lives there, just so we can support life, ya know?
I also agreed with them, it did seem like the movie was kind of Anti-American

Surprise, Reg doesn't like something. =D
Also, srsly, how many original stories are there left in the world? Everything's been done, even if we don't realize it.

I liked it though. lolwasn'tshefromLost/ResidentEvil?

It's worth a rental, but not what I paid for it at theaters.
