Music while gaming?

I'm just wondering people's opinions on this. I personally don't while playing MW2 so I can hear footsteps and gun shots near me. Just post a quick answer, yes/no and why. I just want to know what you guys think. Also if you do what type of music do you listen to? A certain genre or just whatever?

for me its mostly metal as its most suitable for killing things, however if you play on a 360 I would turn it down some for the things you just said

I listen to metal as well on Modern Warfare 2 because just hearing guns eventually bores me and I already have music in my ears 24/7, no difference

i dont but when i do its Metallica and i will kill insane and i put the volume even higher xD so haha i listen to it only when a certain friend is on i think she likes the music when i play it o.o
