Hello and happy Valentine's Day to everyone! With how commercialized holidays have become in this day and age, Valentine's Day brings with it a slew of ads for everything from Social gatherings to special chocolate. Since most of those ads are made by graphic designers, this month's challenge is to make Valentine's Day themed ad.

Here is what you will need to do, come up with an event (party, dance, movie night, etc...), OR a product (candy, flowers, cards, etc...) OR a Valentine's Day Special... or really anything you think you can tie into this Holiday and create and advertisement for it Don't like Valentine's Day? Make it an anti-Valentine's Day event or product then. wink just pull on your creative thinking hats, and take a look at the ads in the paper to get a general idea if you get stumped.

The prize will be a February donation letter. Please do not scan a ad you found... that is what I like to call cheating.. sweatdrop

For this type of project, I find it is usually best if you don't have to use only your own art, so outside images are ok, however, please follow the image use policies of the image's owner (in other words if the person says "don't use my photos unless you e-mail me", then e-mail them ^_^) Remember to add any details someone might want to know about your product. wink Best of luck to everyone!

I don't think that making a contest an announcement is necessary. People tend to overlook stickies/announcements, so I'd prefer if contests are kept as a normal thread from now on. I think we should announce that a contest is starting/finishing in the Announcements thread, so I'll do that from now on too.

That being said, just because Valentines Day is over doesn't mean that this contest is! You still have another... day sweatdrop Some more entries would be nice. I don't want to enter, I think I've won more than my fair share of guild contests.

Hrmm... maybe not a holiday themed contest because not everyone may celebrate that holiday, and also because people might feel less like entering after the actual day, which seemed to be this Valentines Day's contest weakness.
