There's tons of helpful people throughout Johto who stand ready to help you out on your quest. Some of them will give you items or ribbons, or help your pokemon learn new items or evolve!

The Day-of-the-Week Siblings

There are seven siblings in all, and they only show up on their appointed days. The first time you meet them, they'll give you an item. After you've met all seven, visit them again to receive a ribbon from each. (Not sure if this is repeatable or not.)

Monday - Monica on Route 40
First Meeting: Sharp Beak
After Meeting All: Alert Ribbon

Tuesday - Tuscany on Route 29
First Meeting: TwistedSpoon
After Meeting All: Shock Ribbon

Wednesday - Wsley at Lake of Rage
First Meeting: Black Belt
After Meeting All: Downcast Ribbon

Thursday - Arthur on Route 36
First Meeting: Hard Stone
After Meeting All: Careless Ribbon

Friday - Frieda on Route 32
First Meeting: Poison Barb
After Meeting All: Relax Ribbon

Saturday - Santos in Blackthorn City
First Meeting: Soft Sand
After Meeting All: Snooze Ribbon

Sunday - Sunny on Route 37
First Meeting: Magnet
After Meeting All: Smile Ribbon

The siblings' house is on Route 26, but they're not home. You'll find a note, however, that lists all of their locations.

Trade Shards for Berries

Visit the blonde-haired boy in Violet City, and he'll trade you sets of three berries for Shards. There are four kinds of shards in all, and you can find them throughout the game and on Pokewalker routes.

Apricorn Poke Balls

Kurt in Azalea Town will make you special poke balls based on the type of Apricorns you give him. After you give him the Apricorn, come back the next day to pick up your poke ball.

In order to collect apricorns, you have to have the apricorn box. You can get it from the house on Route 30.

The apricorns themselves can be found growing throughout Johto. Unlike berries, apricorn trees bear an apricorn every day - no watering required. The most you can hold of any one color apricorn is 99.

Here is a list of the apricorns and the pokeballs Kurt can make from them:

Wht Apricorn - Fast Ball
Blu Apricorn - Lure Ball
Blk Apricorn - Heavy Ball
Pnk Apricorn - Love Ball
Grn Apricorn - Friend Ball
Ylw Apricorn - Moon Ball

Headbutt Mentor

If you want your pokemon to learn Headbutt, find the young man in Ilex Forest. He can teach the move to your pokemon, and there's no limit to the number of times he can teach it.

Pokemon Salon

In Goldenrod Tunnel, you can find one of two stylists to give your pokemon a makeover. Visiting the stylist will raise your pokemon's frienship and beauty, which can be helpful in evolving certain pokemon.

The senior stylist charges 500 and only works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The junior stylest works Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. She only charges 300 to give your pokemon a makeover.

While you're in Goldenrod Tunnel, you may also want to check out the Herbalist's shop on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as the Discount Item Shop, which is only open 4 am to 10 am on Mondays!

Return at the Department Store

Visit the Department Store in Goldenrod City on Sundays, and you can meet a girl on 5F who will give you TM27 Return if you have high frienship with the pokemon at the head of your party.

Pokemon Dress-Up

There's a Dress-Up Shop in Goldenrod Tunnel where you can deck out your pokemon in accessories. The man at the counter will then snap a photo of your pokemon that will be displayed in the next room.

Also, at the back of the Dress-Up Shop, you can find the Accessory Drawing. It's 100 to enter, but you can win wallpapers and Accessories to dress-up your pokemon.

The Name Rater

Like all pokemon games, there is a Name Rater in Goldenrod City who can change the nickname of any of the pokemon you've caught. As usual, he can't change the name of any pokemon you've received in a trade.

Friendship Rater

You don't get much out of this other than a bit of info, which may or may not be relevant to your pokemon's evolution. If you're curious to know, however, you can find a girl in a house east of the Goldenrod Department Store who can tell you whether your pokemon likes your or not.

Seals

Just like Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver have seals that you can apply to seal capsules to give your pokemon flashy entrances. The seals are the same ones from D/P/Pt as well.

If you want some free seals, visit a little girl in a house on the east side of Olivine, just north of the poke mart. She will give you three random seals every day.

The Move House in Blackthorn

There are four move tutors living together at the Move House in Blackthorn City. Each one has a special talent, some requiring an item. They are:

Ultimate Move Tutor - He will teach either Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, or Hydro Cannon to your fully evolved starter pokemon, depending on the starter's type.

Grandma Wilma - She will teach Draco Meteor, the ultimate Dragon-type move, to any dragon-type pokemon with high friendship.

Move Maniac - He can let a pokemon remember a move it has forgotten, but he requires a Heart Scale in return.

Move Deleter - He'll let a pokemon forget a leraned move, including HMs.

Magikarp Fishing Contest

After you return to the Lake of Rage after the Team Rocket hideout, the Fishing Guru will be holding a contest to find the biggest Magikarp. To enter, put a Magikarp in your party and talk to the Fishing Guru. If yours is biggest, he will give you an Ether as a reward for breaking the record.

Wednesdays at the Lake of Rage

Normally, it's always raining at the Lake of Rage. But, if you visit on Wednesdays, the rain will be gone and the water level will have dropped. This is the only time you can reach certain areas, trainers, and items, so be sure to visit!

Beuna's Password

Every day, the Variety Channel broadcasts the Buena's Password show. You can earn points by listening for the password and repeating it back to Buena. As you earn points, you can trade them in for rewards.

In order to participate, you have to first talk to Buena at the Radio Tower. She'll give you a Blue Card. Then tune in every day to find out that day's password. Remember the password, and visit Buena at Radio Tower. She'll aks you for the password, and if you choose correctly, you'll get a point. SAve up your points to earn items:

Poke Ball - 1 Point
Full Restore - 3 Points
Protein - 5 Points
Iron - 10 Points
Carbos - 15 Points
Nugget - 20 Points
Rare Candy - 25 Points
HP Up - 30 Points

You can tune in to Buena's Password on the Variety Channel, Mondays through Saturdays, on every third hour: 2 AM, 5 AM, 8 AM, etc.
