Stupid VIRUSES

In the misted [You mean "midst," right? Took me a few seconds to figure that out.] of searching for a replacement file, I was hit.

With one click, it snuck past my antivirus, switched my start menus firefox link with internet explorer, shut off my firewall, and stopped me from opening my antivirus completely.

I didn't even try to fix it.

I transfered everything to my secondary hard drive, and wiped the main.

It took me all night just to get ALMOST everything back to normal.
Just 2 more things (one of which, guild wars), and I'll be done.

Now if I can only remember all my program settings.

How on earth do you get virus raped so often? In the 10+ years I've been on the net I've only had a nasty hit like once... maybe twice...

Good god man!! Someone seriously has it out for you I think. My goodness I hope you were able to get everything fixed and back to how you like it.

Speaking of viruses my mum sent me a thing that says those pop ups that sometimes pop up when you're surfing a sight and you click 'em to close out? Yeah, those things apparently can be bugged so when you click 'em to close them out you get hit by a nasty virus. The way to avoid this apparently is to close it out without clicking it by pressing the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys and closing it out in that box.

I wanted to share this with everything, but I find it sad that you can't even close out a pop up without fear of getting hit by a virus. Dude honestly I hope you can get things fixed.

Yeah, but the last time I was hit...
I couldn't even open task manager either.

Iakun: Allow me to explain.
I am an avid internet surfer.
Anything I see, I collect (if I can).
My problem, is that I keep ending up at bad download sites.
Usually ones that were once safe.

It seems though, that there are WAY TOO MANY good sites gone bad, thanks to either virus hackers, or the site undergoes a change that makes it a worthless piece of garbage.
It's getting WAY TOO HARD to get stuff online these days.
Makes me extremely sad...

I rarely go to anything I don't already know and I try to make sure it's super safe before I go there. Suffice to say, all I hit up is gaia, youtube, and gamefaqs, the minority is a few other sites.

But seriously Dude, I'm sorry you're having such problems with good sights going bad. I hope things get better for you or you find better sights so you don't have to worry about that or at least can get your stuff without to much fear.

Iakun: LOL - MR is right. Except for the amount of stuff I have.
Make that 3 HDDs, an 80GB, an 160GB, and a 250GB.
Nearly all 3 of them, almost completely full ^.^

I did have a good site. It went crappy.

Besides "american/english" porn sites are notorious for being virus ridden, but true "japanese" porn sites are suprisingly virus free.

And no, you can't count sites that just have japanese porn on them. Not as long as they're modded in another country.

Though yes, most download sites are still riddled with the things.

Though I did just find a site recently that probably has porn for everything in existance, and all I've gotten there so-far is just a few popups, that firefox has blocked. It follows the rule 34 concept. "If it exists, there is porn of it" - LOL
