Compared to what you guys listen to, my stuff is like ... pop and s**t. ; ;
Like Hawthorne Heights, The Used, and especially My Chemical Romance. I feel like a bit of a loser. crying

haha, I am just like that. Now whenever i see a band name here i go download their songs, so i'm getting to know more of the bands. and when i dont have time to download, i keep a list. most of the time I like all the bands i hear. heart

I like Hawthorne Heights, MCR, and The Used. Though now I like alot of other bands too from coming here and I'm like I'm going to check them out. Then when I hear most of them I'm like fatabulousistic music!
Yeah I know I'm a loser I just thought of fantabulousistic. sweatdrop
And the fact that I just used it.

meh i wouldnt worry with that "real" emo bullshit, i mean i listen to that so called "real" emo, but you know my chemical romance, the used, hawthorne heights, emery, funeral for a friend all those bands i listen to aswell, i mean there still emo, just different kind of emo, so yeh both kinds of emo kick a**

-hey! no worries if u really like the used+mcr,
u should check out from first to last or greeley
estates. I think they have the same tone or
style, not 100% but just an opinion.

go to purevolume.com and listen to some random punk bands... or check out there top 20 on the front page. youll find some "real" emo bands and hopefully somthing you like.

Try listening to some semi-mainstream bands and then proceed to the more "Emo" bands. I recommend Silverstein. It's ok though if you listen to those bands.
"Emo" is just a label. What matters is the music and everyone has a different taste in music. I listen to those bands you just mentioned (except MCR).

Gray Matter, Jawbreaker, Rites of Spring, Indian Summer, Hot Water Music, Moss Icon, Heroin, Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Cap'n Jazz, The Get Up Kids, Jets to Brazil...
Chances are that if it was made in the last 7 years it isn't emo.
