DQVIII Monster Arena Help

I'm up to rank A. I only have four monsters that actually stand a chance of winning (and they are a pretty decent team, I just hate it when they repeat inefficent attacks), but it is still tough. Is there a way to strengten the current monters you already have or do you have to recruit more if you want a stronger team?

i sometimes noticed when i dumped my old monsters for new ones and i recruit them back, thier health is abit higher...dunno whats goin on there.. but ive never noticed that you can make ur team stronger..hmm..

Teams that ive used to beat Morrie are the golem team (they fuse to mazin and start pwning O.o")
Triple Trouble are good too...

Gryphus is a good monster to recruit..im pretty sure its the one that attacks twice..

Talos..
Skeledoid is great D: even tho low health may be a problem sometimes...but he attacks twice and also a small chance of putting some monsters to sleep..
