I can't say I've played a Donkey Kong game before, but I might try this when it comes out. Plus I might be able to convince a friend or two to play co-op, not many games with offline multi-player these days.

I like the co-op mode. I never really noticed it, but many of Nintendo's games that include co-op have a lot of things in place to ensure that it's still enjoyable even if one person is very good and the other is not. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 had co-star mode which was one person playing and one person helping, which couldn't mess up the first person. NSMBW lets you pick one another up or bubble up to let the skilled person go ahead. DKCR lets Diddy hop on Donkey's back if things get too difficult, and then he can provide jetpack power to Donkey Kong to help him get across wide gaps.

Very cool stuff, which is probably a big reason these games are such a success. Another way to make them approachable to everyone; and knowing Nintendo's fanbase, they'll buy the game, be excited about it and want to share it with someone they know that might not be the best.
