I'm stunned, actually. Considering valve has had TERRIBLE support of PS3 titles? This could be a huge change. Linky.

I'm kinda starting to want a PS3 now. I'll probably wait until it goes way down in price.

Basically, instead of buying a gaming PC, you can just buy a PS3 now.
My mind exploded.

I dunno, hundreds of PC games on the PS3? It expands the PS3's catalog exponentially and, considering that a PS3 is cheaper than a rig you'd need to buy in order to run certain games (Crysis 2, for example), you may be seeing a huge paradigm shift here.

Anyone with a good enough PC will stick to it. Whoever plays FPS games with a controller when you could be using a mouse is just.. missing out. Especially when playing AGAINST someone with an actual mouse, and cross-platform online play seems to be something they're aiming for. PS3 will be Steam for the poor and irish. Seriously, get a PC. EDIT: ^^^^******** ALL THAT s**t ABOVE TF2 FOR THE WII NOW

My guess is a lot of people will opt for a USB mouse and keyboard for their PS3.
For those of us who are POOR, the decision is easy. I'd rather pay 400 dollars or whatever and get PS3+ Steam games and miss out on a few non steam games (like WoW) as opposed to paying ~1000 dollars for a PC capable of playing some higher end games.

??
Does this mean I can play Left 4 Dead with PS3 users or what?
I'd be more interested if they were all like, "Oh hey look, we made it so Xbox users can play with PS3 users."

I doubt that'll happen. We'll see how it develops, though.

All that means is that it won't be cross platform enabled. Doesn't mean the PS3 isn't getting Steam.

After reading up on it, it sounds like the PS3 WILL be getting Steam...sort of. Certain games purchased through Steam (I.E. Portal 2) will be able to be transferred to a PS3.
Obviously not as groundbreaking, but still pretty neat.
