"Uh... sure, thanks," Cecil nodded at the woman. He still couldn't tell how to feel about her. He was infuriated and frustrated, that much was certain, but he also felt... better.
Once Brittany was gone, Cecil looked down at his cell phone. He stared at the screen for a long time. How long? He didn't know. He didn't want to press a button. He knew he'd have to call Sawyer eventually, but he didn't want to. Call it being stubborn or afraid, but whatever it was it kept him procrastinating. After several mental rehearsals, however, he sighed, sucked it up, and called the lawyer. With each ring gave him hope that Sawyer wouldn't answer.

"YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

After quite a few rings, he finally answered. He sounded rather gruff, as though he'd been drinking, but wasn't slurring too much so he was understandable. "Hello?" he answered.

Cecil winced as he heard the voice, mentally cursing Sawyer for answering and nearly forgetting the reason he called. "Hey," he started after a while, voice quiet and serious. "Can we talk? I'm at that cafe we usually go to for lunch."

"YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

"I, uh, I can't right now," he answered, looking around. He was in no position to drive, much less talk to Cecil. "Can we do this tomorrow?"

"Are you drunk?" Cecil asked. He sighed. "Try to sober up. I'm headed to your place." He hung up before Sawyer could protest. If he left this talk to tomorrow then it would stay "tomorrow" each passing day.
