i wanna know specifically if anyone has had any cases of UFO or suspected Extraterrestrial activity that they would be willing to share here. i am interested in ET phenomenon. this is an Occult and Paranormal field that has me particularly interested. i am also on the hunt for info on Extradimensionals and Cryptids. if anyone has any theories, experiences, stories, suspicions, sightings, witnesses, etcetera..... please bring them here. i recall recently there was a man in, i think, Louisianna who had a sighting of a Skunk Ape. it was mentioned on the Oddball segment of Countdown w/ Keith Olbbermann. any follow-up on this BigFoot encounter would be a good example of what i'm looking for. EDIT: it was North Carolina. BigFoot Sighted

Here is a link to the thread I started in DDR earlier this year... HEREI have seen several UFO's in my life, and I am a bit skeptical of their origins, no matter what side of the argument I am listening to. I would love to hear what people and governments of other countries have to say about it. I know we seem to get sketchy info about what our government will divulge to us as US citizens. As for crypto-zoological creatures. I can't say that I have ever seen anything that couldn't be explained with proven information at hand. But I love hearing about other people's experiences.

thankies dear, that came in real handy. whee i'd forgotten about that thread.
anywho, yeh, explaining them away is good, and if there are specific cases of sightings or whatnot that you have reasoned off, i'd love to know what, where, when and why. smile it often leads to still surprising and awesome discoveries, and even when it doesn't it is still good to know the truth.
i recall watching one episode of Monster Quest (not that great a show realy) where some kind of Chupacabra was sighted. turned out that all the evidence points to it being Cougars, in a place where there havn't been Cougars in almost 100 years! biggrin it's no Chupacrabra, but it's pretty freaking coolio! whee

Yeah, they had 2 chupacabra episodes. I only saw the cougar one once. Then there was the one where the found a supposedly hybrid wild dog/coyote; they replay that one allot.
I always find it so convenient that they can't seem to be competent enough to get a solid DNA sample when they actually have corpses, or fur. They just don't want to say, "Aww, it wasn't bigfoot, it was bear fur."
Anyway, we have stories of a "goatman" around here along with a story of a "gateway". There are a few places that give off lots of negative energy around here. I don't get scared, but this one place gives even me the goosebumps when I am there. I'll stay, but I have only had one person stay there with me longer than an hour. I never even let people know if we are going out to places like that, I like to see who has the "feel" for it. This place has never failed sending even the most insensitive away. The only people who have ever went back more than once with me is my brother, and my husband.
That's more paranormal though....

People claim they have sen him in the area of the "Gateway" (that's supposedly leads to Hell) but I couldn't tell you more than that really. I know people who claimed to have seen him, and they really believe hey have, but I am skeptical. They usually describe a hairy beast that walks upright. It's said that it's like 6 foot tall if not a bit more. I have only met one person who claims to have seen hooves, but I question that person's credibility seriously, when they say they were 80 to 100 feet away in dense woods when they saw it. LOL I wonder if the stories might be based off of bear sightings. There aren't many bears around here, but there are a few, and I can imagine that someone who might see a hairy silhouette of one might mistake the ears for horns if all they can make out is in shadow. Most people didn't believe it until a black bear cub climbed a tree next to a busy highway a couple years ago, and no one driving by could miss it. It wasn't even 10 miles from me... Bear in SE MO... but that is the skeptical me trying to explain credible people's improbable sightings.

the more skepticism the better. it balances out the enthusiasm for the hunt. if you catch wind of any other eyewitness accounts, don't hesitate to let me know. encourage people in your area to try to obtain evidence. smile

Do you watch Destination Truth? They try to find evidence of some Cryptids, I watch it but I'm not sure if I should believe it or not. I'm not a huge skeptic but you never know with some of these shows. sweatdrop

Deadbeat Nightmare Do you watch Destination Truth? They try to find evidence of some cryptics, I watch it but I'm not sure if I should believe it or not. I'm not a huge skeptic but you never know with some of these shows. sweatdrop Actually, Destination Truth is a pretty awesome show. They usually come to some pretty sane conclusions and they debunk things several times. I can respect that show. TAPS used to be really good at debunking ghost theories and they might have found 2 or 3 things that they couldn't explain in the first 2 seasons, but in more recent shows it seems every place they go to they "Find" conclusive evidence that the place is extremely haunted. I liked it better when they focused on debunking. I guess they needed ratings. The other ghost/paranormal hunt shows are a bit too sensationalistic and fanatical for me. I appreciate when people go into a place with the mindset that they want to find a reasonable explanation for a current mystery, not just take for granted there is a "ghost" or "monster" there.

Yeah I used to be a big fan of Ghost Hunters, until I listened to this radio show, on the program some of the people who used to be on the show admitted that they faked some stuff. I believe one was Donna and since then I'm not sure what to believe. I do watch Destination truth a lot, in fact I record all the episodes so I can watch them again, but since i'm uncertain of Ghost Hunters, I've become uncertain on all the shows from the same network. I really hope Josh and his crew don't fake stuff, because I do love Cryptids and folk lore, and I would be disappointed.

Talking about radio shows, I miss listening to "Coast to Coast"... I caught a little of it a few weeks ago and they were talking about ghosts, and I love the theories that people call in with. I remember when i first heard it years ago, and thought that since they let anyone call in, they would get allot of kooks, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the people that called were sane and intelligent to boot.
Anyway, my brother had a crazy experience the other night... He woke up because his bed was shaking like someone was bouncing on the end of it. He thought it was one of mom's dogs at first, but his door was closed. When he realized that, he bolted awake and sat up. He said he could see the silhouette of someone, but when he reached over to turn the light on, no one was there.
My husband and I have started having "experiences" again as well. When the house gets darker in the evening (I keep as few lights on as possible, I like only enough light as is needed), we see figures like people walking around the hallway, or always catching glimpses of people just going into a room when everyone who lives here is accounted for. My husband ran into someone the other night in our kitchen doorway when he got home from work, but no one else was awake. So far we haven't had any unusual poltergeist though.

Oh wow, that's interesting have you consider setting up cameras to see if you catch anything on tape? Sometimes I think I'm going crazy in my house because I see shadows moving around a lot, but I cant be certain it's something paranormal since I stay up late all the time so it could just be my sleep deprived mind playing tricks on me. I don't really listen to the radio often, I watched the segment of the show on youtube, someone on a different thread sent me the link.

hmm.. I never have watched destination truth, I didn't take the commercials seriously. I tend to be a harsh critic of shows like that though.
I do love the Discovery and History Channels more than Travel... but from time to time a good show about this stuff can come on almost anywhere. realy though, I've lost alot of time for watching TV. I get home from school and usualy just turn on MSNBC. if I'm ucky I can catch Hardball, or sometimes even the Ed Show. but usually, I miss those, so I skip Countdown and turn on Rachel Maddow Show at 9.
I'm a fan of UFO Hunters, but when that one cynical dude left, Bill got extra crazy, and they replace their cynic, but now even he's getting sucked in to the conspiracy-mongering. xp the UFO Files shows isn't that great.... and Monster Hunters varies.
meh, I guess I'm just trolling. xd I think being a harsh critic is important in all things though.

I see, you should give Destination Truth a try, some of the episodes are pretty interesting. The alien episode really creeped me out. Have you seen My Ghost Story on the Bio channel?
