I actually loved some of the yu-gi-oh ones for the GBA; that doesn't make me a bad person, does it?

Some are okay.

But yeah...Just play the actual card game.

Buying the game is cheaper than the cards. Plus people in the game actually know the rules.

The pokemon card game.... game ruled.

This is true. The pokemon card game was simple, fast, and amazing. I could beat that thing repetitively and never stop.

AND the music was wicked! 8-bit glory

It's too bad I could never find anyone else with the game to do the IR trade thing with. I never got to see the ghost cards!

They're just as fun, but like with digital comics, you miss out on some of the point of the card game.

Yea. Some people get a lot of joy out of owning a physical collection. It's easy to understand, but I don't feel the same way. Not anymore, anyway.

Yeah, I think it's cool that some cards get really valuable with age, but the part with buying all the booster packs really turns me off. It'd also be neat for bragging rights, since talking about your super cool digital Charizard isn't as badass as showing the real thing, but eh. The game's just as enjoyable digital, so that's enough for me.

Edit: Plus in the game I think you could get a Charizard as a starter, so it is pretty different.

I still have the Pokemon TCG game.

I had an awesome Yu-Gi-Oh deck. I brought them to school. I forgot to take them out of my backpack. Somebody stole the Yu-Gi-Oh cards that I didn't even know were in my backpack. The eff? xD I play Yu-Gi-Oh Spirit Caller now. I lost Eternal Darkness and I refuse to play card games on motorcycles... >:C

I blame the Mexicans in my computer class... Probably sold on the black market for some lunchroom milk.

Half the fun of card games is opening the booster packs and s**t, and the other half is deck building. The last half is actually playing the game.

Some video card games (the Yu-Gi-Oh ones, Pokemon TCG) pulled the core concepts off quite well, so there's definitely some merit in them.
