Growing up Alicia lived in a mansion. Her family was rich and since she was an only child she was spoiled rotten. She was the envy of everyone who knew her, and she was the pride and joy of her family. So how did someone so well-known and wealthy ever become a slave? The answer to that is debt. Long ago before Alicia was even born, her father was involved in the selling of slaves. His business was very lucrative, but immoral. After sometime the weight of what he was doing caught up with him and he chose to leave the industry. The company he was working for didn't appreciate losing an employee so as his punishment they said any child that he should have would be theirs when they turned 14. He lived many years disregarding his past, even when he had a child he didn't believe that she would be taken away, after all how could they ever know he even had a daughter? Well her father’s doubts were not enough to protect Alicia on the night of her fourteenth birthday. Someone the slave industry knew of Mr. Asher's daughter and as they promised she was made into a slave. Alicia's life underwent a huge change literally overnight. She no longer lived in a big comfy house, she lived in a small cramped cage. And instead of telling people what to do, she was being told what to do, although she never listened. She had many masters, all of which bought her trying to prove that they could break her, but she was always returned because no one could.
