<----------- About Emily ----------->
Name: Emily Device Gender: female Age: 15
Faction/Race: Reaper; Subclass - Witch
Natural Ability: Y1 Curse: minor incidents of bad luck. (With Emily this is an uncontrolled, self-targeting passive. For the most part it's indistinguishable from a fairly typical bad day.) Y2 Familiar Forms: Emily can transform her familiar into simple objects.
Limitations maximum objects is two identical objects no moving parts nothing digital nothing complicated nothing precise (keys, blades, etc) nothing larger or having greater mass that her familiar's normal form limited to 1-30 minutes depending on her emotional stability and focus
Family:
The Device family is known amongst Halloween's magic users for their hard work, efficiency, and reliability, and has been for generations. Every once in a while the family produces an Eccentric, and while Emily would never consider herself as such, she shows a great deal of promise in becoming one.
She is the youngest and only girl, with three older brothers who tend to treat her as either a pet or a toy. You know those little kids who truly believe just about everything their older siblings and relatives tell them? Well Emily is still that little kid, much to her brothers' continual amusement.
Her mother does her best to keep things from getting out of hand and Emily in one piece. While she doesn't want her daughter to become bitter and cynical, she does hope that Emily will develop a certain amount of wariness at the academy. To help guide her littlest witch in her years at the academy, Mrs. Device wrote A Young Witch's Guide to School Life for Emily to refer to. Her father just wants a nice quiet house for awhile.
Personality:
Emily takes herself very, very seriously. She wants to meet the standards set by her parents and siblings, and do justice to the family's reputation. Unfortunately she has a tendency toward the extreme, and while she goes out of her way to be helpful toward others, there's a good chance she'll just make things worse. But the more she fails at something, the harder she'll try.
She tries to put on a strong face, but Emily takes failure very hard, to the point where it eclipses any other successes she might have had. She tries to keep a positive outlook, and so has a tendency to surround herself with motivational messages that remind her to not give up or fall into depression because something goes wrong.
Why did they enroll at the academy? The Device family has always gone to Amityville, and her parents hope that here their daughter will finally be able to learn real magic. So far, Emily has yet to be able cast any enchantments or spells. Her only somewhat magical ability (with the exception of her FEAR) is a minor curse ability that doesn't do much besides bring her misfortune.
So they're shipping her off to school, along with the family cat, Mr. Monty (he's been known to talk, but never says anything very pleasant) a broom she can't ride (her parents say it's for encouragement) and a small stack of comic books featuring "The Batman" (her middle brother smuggled them from the human world, and swears that if she ever goes there, she too, will have to face humanity's greatest defender. Emily is very concerned about this.)
Fear: Y1 Monty Cannon: Through FEAR, Emily is able to transform Mr. Monty into a weapon. Currently, she can change him into a cannon that fires off a large, wet hairball with many alarming visual aspects (it's just gross) at her opponent. >: But sometimes he just pukes on her instead. (uses GC) Y2 Monty Revolver: Monty transforms into a pair of large revolvers and fire off multiple shots. (uses swift strikes)
