"Chriton, we have a problem." "We are taking measures to fix it. A special team is being gathered." ..................... Bzzz.... Report to the rendezvous point immediately for your new assignment... This mission is strictly confidential.... Report..... bzz....bz... The organization Artemis is a large organization with reaches into almost all levels of the world including the government, "criminals," and so on. However, it is a secret organization and it intends on staying that way, pulling strings sometimes to get what it wants. A large part of its power lies in its research facilities and advanced technology. Recently, one of its bigger research labs in one location was completely destroyed. No one really knows why or what happened, and if the higher ups know, they're not telling. A group of Artemis's people have been hand selected to form a "special" team to be carry out a mission that has been deemed to be important. The team must eliminate a dangerous threat, a group of people who Artemis says are a danger to society and that only the "special" team can take care of the problem. However, this mission is going to change their lives. While they may not realize it yet, everyone on the team has a connection to the destroyed research lab. ----------- Contents1. Introduction 2. 1. Please make sure to follow all Guild and Gaia rules.
2. dragon-talk and Scythe are the roleplay moderators, so please listen to what we say.
3. Please do not god mod, power play, or kill off anyone else's character without their permission. Also, let us know if any planned deaths come along, so others won't accuse you of god modding.
4. Separate OOC from IC somehow. For example (( )) around OOC words.
5. Keep everything PG-13 and absolutely no cybering.
6. Literacy: Try not to use one liners. Writing more lets roleplayers work with more to respond with.
7. No need to use fancy posts with large images that stretch pages. We're fine with text.
8. When you apply, type "Artemis - [Character Name]" in the PM subject. You can have up to 3 characters at a time.
9. If you know you will be going away or be in a lull, please let us know.

Setting and Time: Hal'Ets is a world that is very similar to Earth except in name. The time period is also similar to 2010 on Earth. "Magic" does not exist. However, people that have been modified/experimented on might have some abilities.
The People: Hal'Ets is also the same as Earth in that it's dominated by humans. However, there are some humans who have been experimented on. There aren't too many of them, and if you are one, it probably wasn't your choice.
The Modified/Experimented Humans: These humans, depending on the experiments, may be stronger than typical humans and definitely have abilities that typical humans don't have. However, being experiments, they are not perfect and may suffer from ailments and side effects for a various of reasons that might not be known. For example, someone who continuously uses his power might unknowingly be shortening his life span. Other side effects are the usual headaches and pains and fatigue.
Artemis Artemis is a secretive organization that has its reaches in many parts of the world, including politics. It deals in a lot of research and experimentation on many things including humans. You could also say that they deal in drugs, quite literally. As a result, it has many bases, some of which are dedicated solely to research.
There are many divisions in the organization that serve many functions. For example, there is probably security, research, assassination, public relations (in the secret sense), and etc. Whatever the case, at the top of this large organization sits a board that manages all of Artemis. Most of the higher ups don't make contact with the lower ranking, and the names of the higher ups may not be known to everyone.
Some of the research Artemis does is on experimental humans and has used methods such as gene splicing to get different results. Obviously, not all experiments were successful and might have had pretty fatal consequences. Successful experiments aren't perfect either, and that's why side effects exist. In science, nothing is completely predictable or known.
Spyca - The World Intelligence Division Spyca is about the same as Earth's INTERPOL, CIA, or other secretive spy type organizations. Spyca is a world intelligence agency that works to bring down criminals and prevent some types of events such as massacres and dangerous arms dealings and so on. Spyca knows of Artemis's existence and its hand in influencing events, and has been trying to investigate Artemis and come up with enough proof to shut Artemis down.

Scythe and I have decided that we want to cap how many characters we will take for each side. Below are the numbers:
Artemis
The "Special" Team -> 6 to 8 people
You are a member of Artemis, and you have been called to join this team for a "special" mission. The team is headed by a Team Leader and ideally would include people who specialize in different areas. For example, one could be a sniper, another a techie/hacker, a medic, etc... None of you have ever met the higher ups, and none of you have access to them.
- Team Leader- This is a premade character. PM for more background information. - Techie/Hacker - Sniper - Etc..
Artemis Scientists, Researchers, and Others -> No cap right now. However, only 2 scientists can defect to another side or escape/betray Artemis.
Artemis has an array of scientist and researchers, enforcers, and almost any occupation you can think of. If you're a scientist, are you for the experimentation or have you begun to feel uncomfortable with it and are trying to leave/escape Artemis secretly or even trying to work against Artemis while working for Artemis? It's a dangerous position to be in, if the higher ups find out. Some of you might have been even "crazy" enough to experiment on yourself. If you have, there's bound to be side effects.

The Special Team Mission Targets --> 4
Artemis wants these four people dead, and these four don't know it. The four are experimental humans, and they can be on any side, even working within Artemis, or living as a normal person not on any side. These four don't have to work or live with each other. Just like all experimental humans, the four also have side effects. However, they have less side effects because they haven't undergone as much experimentation. There is a high chance Artemis will actually kill you in the roleplay.

Spyca - The World Intelligence Division -> 1-2 people
The world intelligence agency knows of Artemis's existence and its hand in influencing certain events. While there are both pros and cons, the agency is set on finding enough proof to finally bind Artemis down and restrict it. Agents have gone undercover within Artemis, some killed in action, trapped, or some currently undiscovered.

With a large influential organization like Artemis, there have got to be those that oppose Artemis. Sometimes, the opponents "mysteriously" disappear, or maybe they give up. That doesn't mean there's no one out to stop Artemis. There is one group in secret that has managed to survive so far, and Artemis has a "pet" name for it. But who's to say they haven't experimented too, if only solely to bring Artemis down?

PROFILES ArtemisSpecial Mission TeamScythe de Zaran … hmph… Name: Dais Balderon Age: 49 Gender: Male Side: Artemis Position: Special Team – Sniper Ability: Shadow manipulation. Side Effect: Random headaches and random bouts of spotted vision. If his ability is used too much, Dais might find himself stuck in a wall. Weapon: Knife, Sniper rifle Strengths/Weaknesses: Dais’s strengths lie in his fast reaction time (a little bit better than an average human), stealth, aim, and how he can pretty much think of a way to use anything as a weapon. His weaknesses lie in his inability to have emotion, his social capabilities, and random headaches that could be so bad sometimes that he has to stop what he’s doing. Bio: Dais is the oldest of three children. His childhood was relatively normal. He always kept a lookout for his hyper sister, who always seemed to get into trouble without meaning to. Being a good physical fighter and sports athlete, he didn’t have many problems with bullies or protecting his siblings. After high school, he disappeared from the picture and lost contact with his family. It wasn’t his choice. Despite his resistance, Artemis stole him away to be a test subject because of his physical attributes. He was experimented on at the destroyed base, but his memory has been erased so he doesn’t remember he was at the lab and he doesn’t remember anything about having a family. Personality: Stoic. Emotionless. Quiet. Cold. Level headed and calm no matter the situation. Dais has that tough guy attitude about him and will only speak if necessary. He also seems to lack a sense of humor. He’s not great at socializing, and sometimes may just use the wrong words in the situation. Dais is not quick to anger and has a very long fuse, but may sometimes think too much than is good for him. However, given his personality, Dais has no qualms about killing or torturing others if he needs to. Other Information: N/A at the moment. Appearance/Description: Dais stands at a height of 6’1’’ and tends to just be stoic in expression. Rarely will you ever see a smile on his face. The same with frowns. dragon-talk What are you looking at?...Name: Elie Age: 39 Gender: Female Side: Artemis -- Special Team Position: Techie/Hacker Ability: Poison and Disease -- her Lymphatic system houses a ludicrous amount of life-saving chemicals (at least for her end). Atropine to defend against nerve gases, Amyl nitride to overcome blood agents such as cyanide. Her sweat glands excrete dimercaperol and chloramine to counteract blistering agents such as mustard gas. Her cell nuclei float in a salt solution to deflect gamma rays. The cilia lining of her trachea are highly absorptive to neutralize harmful particles before they reach the lungs. Her left arm's lymph fluids absorb the chemicals it fights, and hers lymph node there is swollen so the toxins gather there so that they can be released along the arm and hand. She can suppress the arm's effects so that she can hang around a person for 3 days without them getting nauseous. She can also pump up the power of it to where it can be instantly lethal. Usually, she suppresses it so that she doesn't immediately kill anyone. She usually only aims to make people be in pain or sick. The in between setting only hurts or makes someone sick for a short period of time. She usually has to touch someone for anything to happen instantly to them, but if she is within the vicinity of someone for extended amounts of time the effects can be hard on the other person if she isn't careful. Side Effect: Bleeding. If she gets cut, she bleeds like crazy. Also, if she uses her ability too much for too long, she coughs up blood. Weapon: a handgun and a sword Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: stealth, defense, technological knowledge Weaknesses: her temper, extreme heat/cold Bio: ((working on it)) Personality: Anya is usually very cheerful and outgoing. She can also be very kind-hearted. She usually has good intentions but sometimes goes about fulfilling them in an almost forceful kid of way. She also has a foul mouth and sometimes crude behavior. She's quick to frustration and sometimes annoyance or anger. Other Information: Lythe Aeon SashaName: Sasha Nosova Age: 33 Gender: Female Side: Artemis Position: Special Team - Medic Ability: n/a Side Effect: n/a Weapon: Double-wield pistols and a small number of sharp projectiles attached in various places of her suit. Strengths/Weaknesses: Bio:An ecstatic 24 year old just of a highly prestigious college, Sasha began her work with Artemis as a medical/biological scientist. She worked side by side with her twin, Irina Nosova. They were extremely skilled in the arts of medicine and were, for all intents and purposes, doctors. Oh, how many bodies had she injected and taken the scalpel too…marked as failures…half successes? She’d lost count. They used people for experimenting, but it never bothered Sasha much. She thought of it as her job; the reason she could afford to eat every night. The Nosova twins swiftly worked their way to being highly respected at their base. When she turned 32, for reasons unbeknownst to Sasha, she was relocated to a different base, being forced to leave Irina behind. Upon a later date, Sasha was informed that the base she and her sister were employed at had been ‘destroyed’. No one knew how. No one knew why. The only information disclosed to Sasha personally was that Irina was dead. Due to Sasha’s immense knowledge of anatomy and the healing arts, she was assigned to a special team as a medic. Personality: Sasha tries to hide the impact of Irina's death behind a wall wry joy. Although immensely intelligent, she's also very witty and will often try to make light of any situation. Sasha comes off as rude, callow, sardonic. Because, well, she is and always has been. But it should be said that she was a kinder, less cynical person before Irina's demise. Sasha will help you because it's her duty to keep you alive and she'll follow orders she agrees with to an absolute T. Not because she wants to or feels obligated. She has no issue with questioning an order she thinks is folly; Sasha knows she can get away with this because of her unparalleled intellect. Appearance/Description: Sasha stands about 5'5 and her expression is more often than not a very wry smirk. Other Information: Because not all projects go as planned, Sasha lost her right eye. An experiment fought back. It was, fortunately,..... contained....but not before Sasha could get away. IBlameRoadSuess CapName: Charles "Cap" Haden Age: 43 Gender:Male Side: Artemis Position: Demolitions expert Ability: Increased concentration. (Able to block out all interference and concentrate on task at hand. Allows for super-steady hands.) Side Effect: Frequent headaches, sudden bouts of rage, and catatonia if concentration ability is used for too long. Weapon: Custom shotgun (12 shot clip, semi-auto, and slightly elongated barrel for more accuracy), Heavy pistol Strengths/Weaknesses: His strengths are his increased strength from his regular physical training, which allows him to carry explosives and a standard amount of ammo for his shotgun and pistol without compromising his speed, and his concentration allows him to easily defuse/arm a bomb with surgical precision. His weaknesses are his bouts of rage, which can lead to the detonation of explosives, his headaches, which sometimes prevent him from even seeing straight. Bio: Grew up fairly well structured, but slightly troubled. Excelled in the subject of chemistry, specifically those related to explosives. Was 12 when he made his first nitroglycerin based explosive out of soap and other easily obtained items. Was arrested at the age of 16 for trying to strap a bomb made of household cleaning supplies to his high school's boiler in an attempt to escape final exams. Arrested 3 times for arson. Was picked up by Artemis agents after being arrested in an attempt to blow through a bank vault with a shopping cart filled with explosives at 23. Experimented on for 15 years, and his memory erased. The memory erasure is slightly shoddy, and he remembers things about his past infrequently. Trained himself to be in peak physical condition, so he can carry both explosives and standard amounts of ammo for his shotgun and pistol, without compromising his speed. Personality: Joking, talkative, friendly. He's the people person of the team, this is slightly hindered by his bouts of rage, which can be almost as destructive as his explosives at their worst. Appearance/Description: Stands at 6'4", generally has a friendly smile on his face. Burn scarring up his entire left arm and slight burn scars on his left cheek. Other Information: Likes to talk about explosives, resents anyone who calls him anything to he effect of; "uncivilized, barbaric, or brutish" because he is quite intelligent. Describes good demolition as; "A musical event that only the most skilled orchestra can perform perfectly, and when botched, has deadly consequences." Vizzion Sebastian GresshowName: Sebastian Gresshow Age: 32 Gender: Male Side: Artemis Position: Recon and Intelligence Ability: Master of Disguise: Can transform his appearance to mimic personnel that he needs to. Side Effect: If Sebastian keeps on a transformed appearance for too long, the appearance will stick for a couple of days. If used too much in a day Sebastian will get disoriented. Weapon: Supressed GSG-1911 (Hand Gun), HK MP5 (SMG) Strengths/Weaknesses: Sebastian's strength lies very heavily on his intelligence and stealthiness. His weakness is his disregard for people's privacy and lives. Bio: His family is one that on the outside looks normal but it is far from the truth. His parents had been Spyca agents working to bring down Artemis. He had a normal childhood in that he was trained to be a Spyca agent himself. At the age of 20, Sebastian was also assigned to the Artemis Investigation. However, he was captured by Artemis when he attempted to infiltrate the destroyed base. He was a subject of experiments because of his natural abilities such as his intelligence and his stealth. Artemis' experiments gave him a boost but at the cost of losing his previous memories. Personality: Cold and Quiet, Sebastian can come across as very serious and dark. Appearance/Description: Sebastian stands at 6'2'' and wears a mask with his goggles that can function as nightvision and Heat sensor Other Information: He holds many secrets since his powers not only take on someone's appearance but also their memories.

He is able to fire a basic handgun though. Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths = any sort of science (especially genetics), lying, knowledgeable. Weaknesses = pretty women, children, his work Bio: ((working on it)) Personality: Jordaan's personality can be described in many words. He can be serious one moment and then completely childish the next. However, most of the time, he can be found acting like a five-year-old in an adult body. While he does act this way, Jordaan is extremely intelligent, so don't underestimate him. His personality is very hard to describe because of how odd his behaviors are. He has his own 'catch-phrase' so to speak: "Very interesting". Other Information: N/A for the time being. ===== Spyca===== Special Mission Targetsx-Umiichi-x VulneroName: Vulnero [Nickname: Nero] Age: 75 [Looks 21] Gender: Female Side: Other Position: Special Target Ability: Ability to move at speeds far greater than normal humans are capable of. Top speeds have ranged from hundreds of miles per hour. Includes the speeding up of her thoughts and perception to be able to control her actions as well as normal while moving at high speeds. Side Effect: There is a pure black color that looks like veins that travel down her arm, looking almost like a moving tattoo. Sometimes it stays for days, weeks, or goes away within an hour or so. It involves Excruciating pain, sometimes even making her faint. Weapon: Two automatic hand guns. Strengths/Weaknesses: She is immune to any kind of sleeping gas or injections. Extremely bright lights is a weakness, it sends high pitched noises throughout her head. Bio: Vulnero was grown up with a normal family until the age of 16. Until the Artemis project came in and took her, wiping out her whole family along with the kidnapping. Why Vulnero was taken was because her DNA and medical records proved that she was a candidate for the experiments. Although Vulnero has absolutely no memory of any of this actually happening. The most recent memory she had after the experiments was waking up in a Hotel bedroom. She didn't even know her real name, which came to the conclusion of giving herself one. Ever since then, she had been on her own, in her own little apartment with her dog named Abel. Personality: Vulnero is a quite person who keeps to herself. She feels that there is no point in talking to someone unless it is completely necessary. A lot of times she would be seen in deep thought, which is the times she tries to force herself to remember where she came from and why she has these powers, with side effects. Appearance/Description: Vulnero has a tongue ring, and 3 piercings in her left ear, 2 in her right. Other Information: Her dog Abel is an Alaskan Husky. She found him on a rock, in the middle of a river when he was just a puppy. She had no idea how he got there but saved him and took him home. ===== Others/RebelsRokoka Nal'Aga = Center. Weaknesses: Poisons Short Temper With The Simple Minded Bio: Nal'Aga is a very reclusive man in general but is the current leader of The Others. He is a former experiment done by The Others themselves. He was made to be the Leader of the The Others by his predecessor, the former leader died several years after his finalization and gave Nal'Aga the title of Leader. Nal'Aga is a publicly known Political head and is called The Judge since most of his words holds great power over people. From fear and respect alike and has been a Judge for many high end trails and each one he's become the word of god for the court and no one trys to overturn his decision's. Nal'Aga can tell when's someone is lying which leaves him to learn more about those who hide things from him better then others could. This is one way he's been able to rule with a Iron Fist without opposition within the Others.
As the Leader of the Others he has many tasks that he does that are done in the dark and hidden from the world we know. Cruel and Brutal things but at the same time helpful and savior like things. What ever fit his interests he will do but those who oppose him have gone missing many times and has been the spot light by his former opponents. Not many chance attacking him on a political level but many attempt to do so in the shadows. Though it's unknown to everyone in the world expect the Others that he is the Leader of the Others. To the world he is The Judge and the man of unmatched resolve and principle. Personality:Cold, Effective, Harsh, Unforgiving, Dominate, Prideful, Clever, Bears a Silver Tongue Appearance/Description: (optional. Other Information: Nal'Aga has never been seen without his armor and always has his swords on him expect when he's gone to a trail and had them relinquished for the time. His face is unknown and his Origins were falsified by the Others but his face was deem classified and hidden from the world.
Nal'Aga within The Others has formed a group of Personal Guards called the The Judges Magistrate. They bear armor of the same fashion as his own and are his personal elite squad. The elite squad members were not experiments. IBlameRoadSuess WalterName: Walter L. Black Age: 36 Gender: Male Side: The Others Position: Tech specialist Ability: N/A Weapon: Silenced SMG w/scope and Heavy pistol Strengths/Weaknesses: Able to hack through almost any electronic device. Fairly well trained in combat. Not as physically in shape as others (trim, but not strong). Slightly weaker than normal bone structure, prevents from carrying too much gear. Bio: Grew up in a terrible family. Father was abusive, and mother was a drug addict. He excelled in school, oftentimes staying there for hours after it had ended, just to escape his home life. Hacked the school's computer servers when he was 14, never found out. Hacked into Spyca's mainframe when he was 23 and learned about Artemis. Approached by Artemis to design a "Hack-proof" security system. When he was finished, designed a back door for his own access into the system, in case anything went wrong. His memory was erased, and he forgot everything about the base. Personality: Hides behind a guise of dry humor, but is a very cold person. He won't feel pity if anyone is injured or killed. He'll tell people the truth, even if its bad. Appearance/Description: Black hair, eye patch over right eye, and scarring on his right cheek. Other Information: N/A
