The monk had taken a slightly longer route home. The chill mist was a welcome thing, the long sword he had grabbed hold of still sheathed and carried in his right hand. He'd have to figure the best place to don the weapon, but in the mean time, he simply looked over the fine gilding upon the black leather sheathe. He smiled, turning towards his home, and moving ever so simply.

Soon he would be at his destination. Soon he would arrive in Kumo. But for now, he was stuck with the gloomy common sights of Kirigakure.

++++ The young genin walked slowly, being aware of his surroundings for the meantime. The environment around him still unchanging, he had not gone far from the ninja village of the Hidden Mist. It would take quite a while since he was taking it slow, though, it was not because he was lazy, but because was being a bit cautious. Reaching the border however, he stopped. He was about to leave the country of water...

"Hmm," he mused. "Well, I guess, it would be the time for me to get on with it, then," said Kami. As he did, he bent his knees, and drew Chakra from its source, sending it towards his feet as he gathered the power to push off. Raising his hood, and fastening the village headband that he wore, he seemed ready. With one jump, the young boy released all of the chakra that he had gathered into his feet, and with one go, disappeared in a streak of black lines, passing through the border and finally pushing through with the mission.

Outside of the village, the mist was just as thick as it was back home. Foliage seemed to sway naturally, which was a good thing. Not a single cracking twig. Not a single sound which seemed foreign to the area. That was good news for their travels so far.
"Hey Mi, you mind I'm gonna take your genin off your hands?" the monk inquired curiously, as they proceeded along the path. They had a ways to go, but it wasn't gonna be that difficult a hike.

Mi ghosted over the foliage, her mind elsewhere despite being on a mission. She would force herself to concentrate every now and then but nothing was happening and things seemed too tranquil to really cause her to be alert. Her face felt a little sticky, the usual mist was a lot less grounded than in the village and it was clinging to her face. Moving a hand to wipe her face she paused as if frozen, the wagon she had been trailing retreating from her. Roly Poly's question should not have taken her off guard, he had been standing right there up close and personal when the Mizukage had addressed her after all but still she felt a little taken back. Recovering somewhat, she continued forwards, her gait brisk in order to catch the wagon. The sound of the wheels as they clattered along the terrain filled the empty spaces while she carefully mulled over a response as usual. The chattering of the drivers was like background scenery as well.
"I am not suited to be a teacher. It's for the best." Was her reply, her voice strong enough to carry over the noise around them but still soft enough to sound normal. Mi did not meet his gaze still, preferring to stare out around them as if sweeping through the terrain. What was she supposed to say? "Yes I mind. They are mine!" Like some possessive parent. The group had been excellent, despite only Nijiro actually being teachable. They were all eager to learn despite their handicap of having her, a Chuunin Medic as their teacher. Mi had become something she was not comfortable with when she was assigned to them and it had caused her to clam up her shell and hide inside. Her fear of having to feel such emotional change was what really bothered her the most. Mi had it in her mind that being an elite Shinobi meant becoming detached from everything that could potentially be used against you. Friends, family, lovers, and teammates were nothing but big targets that could really inflict damage. It IS for the best Mi chanted to herself.

It seemed the question had been rather disgruntling for Mi, else the girl would not have quite stopped in her tracks so thoroughly. Had he been too forward in this particular department? Being forward could be good for many purposes, but when it came to personal things, it could be just as crippling. The world seemed less important, while she was just there. Standing. It was hardly a few moments, and yet it seemed like forever.

"You know... That Nijiro gal ain't gonna learn much from me," the monk spoke offhand. It was true, too. "I mean... Raiton. I can use it, but no proficiency quite like my fire tactics. She's a medic too, ain't she?" Alzayr had been briefed on their talents before he had turned them down, to fulfill his obligations to Jack. Jack was taught, and the others missing. Hopefully, he was leading her to some kind of option. If he could get Satoshi to run something differently... She wouldn't necessarily be the teacher. Onward they marched yet.

"Thanks for all the work you've done on me, too," he piped up. He couldn't recall as to whether or not he'd thanked her those other times, likely from being hit on the head one too many times in combat. Well... Practice. Things got rather hectic when the monk was practicing. He itched though... Combat was something the monk yearned to experience again. Shin'En. Houou Tsume. The both of them were a temptation. His left hand sat upon the hilt casually, glancing to and fro once more. Vigilance was necessary.

Of course Roly Poly would know about all Mi knew about her own ex students without having had to escort them around. This fact only seemed to work in the negative respects. Mi drew into herself, her shoulders sagged a little bit, despite her usual stiff self. If they hadn't told her what they were studying Mi would not have asked and would have forced them to just learn from whatever scrolls the Mizukage had handed her. Mi nodded in response to his inqiry of Nijiro's choosen art. It would be alot easier to teach her versus the boys but still...A quote from something she had read floated around in her head. Mi hesitated a little bit, unsure if it would be very seemingly to quote this particular line. Frthermore it would be a lot like opening up to Roly Poly, something she was not really comfortable with doing. It could backfire on her or not. Mi looked down and away, trying to save face. Her fidgeting increased as she tried to overcome her own wall."The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. I can only really acomplish the first. I am still learning myself. How does one expect a student to become a teacher just because responsibility calls for it. If I fall in battle it's one thing but for those who were left in my charge to fall in battle because of my lack of experience is unseemly." Mi realized her little rant was a lot more extensive than her usual curt manner and she pinked in the cheeks a little. Her brows furrowed as she concentrated on fixing the damage."N-Not that I care what they think of me personally...It's not like I want to influence them..." She let her sentence trail, giving up on the little glitch in her usual mannerism. Instead she tried to focus on the forest around them. It wasn't until she realized he had thanked her that she came back from her self reproaching silence. Mi cast Roly Poly a curious expression. She was confused. There was nothing that she had ever done for him that needed thanking. If the work he was talking about was her healing him on occasion it was just as he said. It was work. "A Medics duty...no thanks needed."

Somehow, the way even Mi responded with the stuff he had said, he had said some mighty stupid things. Yet, he couldn't pinpoint where he had gone wrong. He'd talked of Nijiro, and that she had access to lightning chakra. It was difficult to understand where exactly it was that could have knocked the air out of the girl. The idea buzzed about again and again, until she spoke. More quotes of some kind, it seemed. It seemed to sting. Reminders of his master, and his own short comings. Again, cheer bubbled onto the surface of the monk. He had to. There was no way he could do otherwise.

"I see where it's coming from," answered Zay, even now, thoughts of his master drowned even the most indomitable cheer. "Master always inspired. There's another way though, something he said he could never try." There was always another way to teach. He'd strove to inspire the monk, and had achieve that. The love. Passion. The sword meant everything. A thing of irony, because peace was all but a dream without war. Again, he drown his thoughts, listening again. She worried. Worried a great deal, with pride and responsibility, it could be a dangerous thing. Her face reddened a bit, and there was the usual Mi again.

"I tell you now, I can't do much more than anyone else with teaching," he answered lastly. He had no hopes of becoming a a great teacher, as a vagabond-to-be. His art of the sword would live with him, and thrive when he did. He hurried on through the fog, their destination just up ahead. Clearly, he had a lot to think about.

Arriving on the outskirts of the Mist village, the monk suddenly surprised by the merchant, who managed to say something other then a verbal attack on Jin. "Aye kid, I'll take it from here. We be close anyway, thanks for nothing you useless guard!" tossing a coin at Jin, what kind of thanks is this?! Jin was furious, yet before he could bring himself to do what he would regret for his entire life, he turned around and headed back to the village. "Mission complete! YEAH!" He shouted as loud as he could in happiness, he endured the entire trip and managed to save the merchant from Jin's own wrath.

As they reached the area right outside of the Mist, the merchant stopped Jin there and went by himself. Jin waved his hand to the merchant and made his way back to Cloud.
