For years, the best detective on the force has been looking for one woman. The Night's Mistress. She has stolen many expensive items from Museum's to sell them on the black market. The cops have always been able to locate the items but always after they were sold. No one has ever caught The Night's Mistress. Not even the best detective in town could catch her. The only way they know what she looks like is the detective that has seen her. Several times. The detective never was able to find the right evidence to take her into custody. The two have been sent to court but the woman always had the best lawyers to get her out of it.
One night, a murder occurs and the police are sent to check it out. All signs of the murder lead to the Mafia of the town. They soon find out that there was only one witness. The only problem is, the witness is The Night Mistress. They are forced to put her into the witness protection program. As she is under the protection, she must stay with the best detective so he can protect her. The only thing the detective wants to do is put her in jail for stealing but he never found the evidence.
What will happen as they stay in the same house together? Will he kill her or will he fall for her and vise versa?

My real Identity: Hayden Williams What the world knows me as: The Night Mistress How long I've been here: 21 What I do: Millionaire by day, thief by night.....but have never been caught. My life: I was raised in a good home. The only problem was my parents were always in debt and, somehow, they would always get out of it only to get back into it. When I grew older, I made it a pact upon myself that I would never go in debt. I would stay on top. But no matter what I did, I would always be at the bottom. Then one day, I decided to put all of my gymnastic skill to the test. I sneaked into the local Museum and stole a priceless painting. It was my first. I sold it on the black market and got 100 grand for it. Just for that one painting. I've been stealing ever since and have never once gotten caught. How I roll: outgoing, rebellious, sometimes cocky What else I like: Movies, reading a good book, shopping, not being in debt, buying things
What the mirror shows me in the morning: My real Identity:Allyster Amon What the world knows me as:Ally, Sherlock, Jekyll. How long I've been here:23 What I do: Detective. My life:I lived a strange life that was always full of adventure and mysteries as a child. I would always stay out late looking for things people in town lost or misplaced. The only problem with that was that I would get lost and my parents would have to come and find me. I would also get into trouble and cause trouble for others at times instead of help. I made a promise to become an actual detective when my parents went missing and all I had to go one was a shirt she made for my dad. I grew up and went through school quicker than most. I started the business early and one my own became a great detective at 19. For fours years I have gone through hundreds of cases and even found my parents. There dead but I did find out I had a little brother. He lives with his foster parents but I take care of him from where I live. I usually never left a case unsolved but I have come to learn there is a first for everything. How I roll:Hyper,Smart,Intelligent,Caring, Serious,and easily annoyed. What else I like: I help people move or paint houses and practice boxing in my spare time.

It was a bright afternoon. The bank had been full all day but was winding down. It was payday, the busiest day of the week, and one woman in particular was ever so glad to have her "paycheck." The lines were still a little long and the woman was stuck behind the middle line. She had picked a line at random because they seemed to be all the same size but the line she had chosen, seemed to be taking the longest of them all.
The woman had finally reached the front of the line, a small smile forming on her lips. The portable tablet in her hands contained proof that she was, indeed, five million dollars richer. She had just sold The Devil's Eye to very high powered, but secretive, group of accomplished gentlemen. The priceless ruby diamond, alone, was worth $5.7 million. The gem was supposed to be making it's way back home, after finishing a tour, in London. The woman, however, had different plans for the precious stone.
As she finally walked up to the counter, a strange feeling filled her gut; as if someone was watching her. The woman looked around the bank, seeing no one staring at her or even taking a glimpse. The woman returned to the teller and smiled. "Good evening, Miss Williams." The man greeted. Hayden Williams was their best, and frequent customer.
"Good evening, Mr. Talbot. How are the children?" She asked, making the usual small talk. Again the feeling of someone watching came upon her. Hayden slowly turned her head around the bank but she could see no one.
"Fine. Our youngest, Abigale, just lost her first tooth." Mr. Talbot smiled proudly at his little girl. From what Hayden knew about him, he had four children. Three girls, one boy. But even as he continued to talk about how they got the tooth out, Hayden could still feel the same feeling in her stomach. Once again, she looked around the back until her eyes caught site of a man standing by the window; his features so distinct. His eyes were dark and cold. It gave Hayden the chills. She had seen his face before but she couldn't remember.
"Miss Williams?" Mr. Talbot asked. Hayden looked up back up at the man. Mr. Talbot gestured to the tablet. Hayden looked down and smiled back up at the man before handing it to him. She turned her head to stare back at the man. Suddenly, a phone rang and Hayden jumped. Several people around the bank checked their phones but Mr. Talbot was the only one who didn't put his phone back in it's previous location of his pocket.
"Hello?" Mr. Talbot raised his hand telling Hayden it would just be a moment. She waved it off, giving him a smile and allowed him to continue with his conversation. However, it didn't seem to last very longer. The man's expression changed and his body went rigid. Something was clearly not right. Hayden could feel it. So much, in fact, her body became rigid as well. Somehow, she knew this was connected with the man at the window. Hayden looked back just in time to see him raise the gun and fire. The window shattered. Men and woman screamed as they fell to the floor for cover. Hayden had done the same. She glanced up toward the window and the man was gone.
Slowly, Hayden stood back up and looked over the counter. The man she had done business with for years was now dead. She had known so little about him though she had seen his face on a weekly basis. It pained Hayden to know that he would never see his family again. Never to be able to see his children continue on with their lives. Tears streamed down her face as she heard sirens flying down the street, stopping in front of the bank doors.

The police had been notified by a bystander and they immediately mobilized to get to the scene. They turned on there sirens drove at full speed. Half way on the route two went off towards another location to find a certain man. He wasn't part of the force officially beacuse he started his own. The man who people would call Sherlock though it wasn't his name.They arrived in only a short time and knocked on the door.
Allyster Amon was a detective credited to many cases. He was someone the police trusted to help them with worry and in great time. He opened the door as he was informed of a Murder and he got on his regular cloths including his fathers shirt. He set out on his own as the police went ahead. He carried a loaded Colt 1851 Navy Revolver beacuse he did have to get close.
His stopped with the police infront of the building and kept his hands on his pistol. He wondered who it was but by the looks of it the bank teller hand been shot. He sighed and went in looking around and he was right. He shook his head and started to question people while looking around until he went over by the window.
Whoever did it was using a pistol but it was hard to tell what kind. He would have to find the bullet to be able to do that. He went inside and resumed asking people what they say until he got to Miss Williams. He knew her will but didn't act like it. "Excuse me miss...did you happen to see who did it?" he asked her.
The other officers went over to the bank teller and pulled him out on a stretcher. He walked over and looked at him "Huh....about 30..4 kids and very friendly." he said.
Hek new things at times just by a glance certain types of people had certain looks and he could guessed easily. He went back to Miss Williams "So do you know anything/" he asked.

"Look, I've told you all I can. Can I go now?" Hayden begged the officer. She had been standing in the same spot for almost an hour. Most of the time the officer repeated questions, just worded differently.
"You have somewhere to be?" The officer asked suspiciously.
"Yes, in fact," Hayden said sarcastically, "I had plans to rob the bank on 53rd street." The officer paused as if trying to decipher if she was being serious or, indeed, using sarcasm. "I just saw a guy I've known for years shot in the head. Can I please go home?"
"Alright, Miss Williams. You may go but if there is anything you remember. Just call me." He handed her a card and she placed it in her purse. "Oh, and my home number is on there too if you need it. I always answer the phone." The officer winked at her and she just gave him a smile though it wasn't helping any. Hayden nodded and was about to walk out but she didn't get very far.
"Excuse me miss...did you happen to see who did it?"
"Yes, I did but-" She stopped as she turned around. The man who was questioning her was a face she had known all too well. "Well, well. Mr. Sherlock. Lovely to see you again." She said though she didn't really mean it. "Look, I've already told the other police what I saw. They've asked me every question in the book. I just want to go home so may I leave?"
"I'm afraid not, Miss Williams." Another voice said. Hayden sighed when she noticed Chief Marshall. Another man who also knew her very well. Chief Marshall was the man Allyster Amon would take her to for questioning.
"Why not, Frank?" She asked. Chief Marshall didn't like it when she called him 'Frank.' It was too formal and Hayden understood his frustration. "I'm sorry. Chief Marshall. Why can't I go home?"
"Because you may be in danger. We better continue this down town. Sherlock, you should come too." Chief Marshall stepped aside to escort her to the car in safety. Hayden wasn't liking this one bit.

Allyster shook his head "Oh danger...right...so is the worlds art." he said and glared at her and followed them. He got onto his motorcycle and shook his head. He hated having to follow her he usually left it with the chief and stayed away. He watched as they drove off and he went with them wondering what he meant by she was in danger. She was criminal too couldn't they just put her in jail.
As he followed them his mind cycled over the scene and something didn't add up. Something had these people scared which only two things could create.
He hadn't found the bullet yet but he had no time. He shook his head, He had heard about the mafia but he would need evidence. He thought about Miss Williams but there was no way she was a thief.
He then thought about corrupt police and hopped it wasn't the case. He knew he had a good case in front of him and he wasn't going to let the thief ruin it. He still had to put her in jail, though he could just shoot her. He drove close behind them and looked around town people still looked scared.

Hayden was escorted all the way tot he police station. They whole entire ride there Chief Marshall wouldn't tell her a thing. Not until she was safe at the station. Allyster Amon followed on his motorcycle. She didn't understand why he had to follow. Clearly, he would have something better to do like finding evidence that she was the Night's Mistress. But she knew he would never be able to prove it. Not in a million years.
She was good at what she did. She as cunning, smooth and knew what to expect on a night of thievery. But now wasn't the time to think about such things. All she wanted to do was go home. Although, she was a thief by night she was a celebrity home designer by day. It wasn't really much but it always covered her tracks and gave her plenty of alibi.
Hayden was asked to sit once she and everyone else entered Chief Marshall's office. "Alright Frank. What's this about?" She asked. Chief Marshall sighed out of frustration and tried to ignore the name.
"Miss Williams, you can't go home." Hayden's mouth dropped. She was about to argue the matter but Chief Marshall raised his hand. "Miss Williams, please. We did have a few other witnesses that were outside of the bank. Many of them called to their families or to the police to report the man but, somehow, they were tracked down and killed." Hayden sunk in her seat. More lives had been taken. Chief Marshall moved to the front of the desk and leaned against the wood frame.
"Miss Williams," Chief Marshall said more calmly. "You're our only witness left. Which is why you can't go home." Again, Hayden was about to argue but Chief Marshall continued with his own argument. "And no cell phone. We're putting you in the Witness Protection program. That is, until, we can catch whoever did this and get you to that court room safely to testify." Hayden wasn't liking this one bit. One bad news after another. Hayden got up from her chair and began to pace, a constant habit when she was stressed or worried about something.
"This can't get any worse." She muttered to herself. Little did she know how wrong she was.
"Allyster will take you to the safe house where he can watch you." Hayden stopped pacing and felt as if she was about to faint.
"Excuse me?" She asked. The Chief knew neither one would like it but it had to be done. Allyster was their best and, right now, they needed their best to watch over her.
"You heard me correctly, Miss Williams. Allyster will be watching over you."

Allyster's eyes widened " WHAT! " he yelled " No no way!" he said "Your sticking me with her...I have better things to do than watch over her...can't we put her in jail and you can watch her there!" he argued.
He shook his head and began to speak Italian "Questo non sta accadendo (This is not happening!)" he said meaning. You can't be serious, I have to watch over this little nuisance, put her in jail but not with me, I am going to shoot her, I am a detective not a damn baby sitter, what in the world did I do to get just a stupid task, I have a case to solve I can't spend my time watching over this damned girl, Ohhh lord why, I am defiantly going to shoot the girl, THIS IS RETARDED.)" he took a deep breath
"Sir...I have to decline that one...I honestly don't want to...and you can't make me either."he said knowing the might have forgotten the kidnapping case where he destroyed about 300,000 dollars of public property.If they brought that up then he had to he still hadn't repaid them beacuse miss sticky fingers was keeping him busy.

Hayden turned to Allyster who was, clearly, not as happy as she was. The worst part was that if he didn't protect her who would? "Hey! You have no reason to put me in jail! And don't you throw your Italian-gibberish at me! You little piece of-"
"Enough!" Chief Marshall yelled over the two of them. Hayden stopped and looked at the Chief. "Now, you will do this, Allyster or it's your badge. I'll make sure that you never work in another town again. Understand? Plus, the Major has agreed that, if you do this, your $300,000 property damage debt will be taken care of. That is if you do it." Hayden raised her eyebrows and looked at Allyster.
"$300,000 property damage? What did you do, Sherlock, blow up a building?" She asked as if to tease. Chief Marshal cleared his throat and Hayden turned her attention back at him.
"There's more." Hayden was afraid of this. "Your food and lodging will be taken care of but, while we do that, we must freeze your account, Miss Williams." Hayden's eyes went wide.
"I-I'm sorry. What?" Chief Marshall just nodded as if to confirm that he truly meant what he said. "Freeze my account? You can't do this!" Hayden began to pace again and began to mutter to herself in French. "Cela ne peut pas arriver. C'est la torture. Je ne lui lui ferai pas regarder. J'irai fou! Cela doit être un rêve. Si je suis coincé dans une maison avec lui, je finirai par devenir le tuer ou il me tuera! Nous serons à chacun d'autres les cous. Je refuse d'être regardé par un petit chien de salon de la police qui n'est pas sans doute même insignifiant entraîné! (This can't be happening. This is torture. I will not have him watch him. I'll go crazy! This has to be a dream. If I'm stuck in a house with him, I'll end up killing him or he'll kill me! We'll be at each others necks. I refuse to be watched by some little police lap dog who probably isn't even potty trained!") Hayden stopped and took a deep breath to calm herself down.
"Is there anyone else?" She asked. Chief Marshall shook his head and picked up an envelope.
"These are your new papers and your new life."

Allyster growled and looked at her "I...****ing hate you Marshall." he said and shook his head and looked at her "Apparently blowing 5 churches is a no no....not my fault nitroglycerin is highly explosive.." he said 'Maybe you should have told me thats what they were smuggling before I blew up the car." he said and shook his head and listened to her french and grinned "Oh really?" he said. and laughed "Juste pour vous informer femme que je vais te tuer si vous tirez rien (Just to let you know woman I will shoot you if you pull anything)" he said and shook his head. He stood "Fine..." he said.
He turned and walked out now interested in looking at the paper and he went through the office. If he was gonna be stuck with her he might as well get something done first. He got on his bike and started it up. He didn't care if he was gonna get in trouble he should as least find out what he could beacuse the girl would drag him down. He tugged on his shirt and sighed actually putting on his helmet for once he made sure his jacket didn't slow him down as he pressed on the peddle and took off.

Hayden glared at Allyster as he left with the papers. This wasn't good. He had agreed to watch her but he just up and left. "Se vado giù, ti porto con me, cucciolo. (If I go down, I'm taking you with me, pup)" She muttered in Italian. No doubt the time they would be spending together would be a challenge. Chief Marshall even debated whether or not to send back up in case they tried to kill each other.
"Please tell me he's coming back." Hayden sighed at the Chief. Frank just shrugged and went to sit at his desk. Hayden sat back down and folded her arms out of frustration. Chief Marshall didn't no what else to do. He prayed Allyster would come back. In the meantime, they would just have to sit and wait for his return. Either way, this was going to be a long night. (Sorry, it's short.)

Allyster pulled up to the station after three hours he took off his helmet and looked at the cat as she jumped out of the basket. He walked back in.. He yawned and looked at them "Okay...We can go now." he said "If I am going to be stuck with her I would prefer to have something to calm me down.' he said.
Allyster tried not to look a Hayden beacuse he knew his rage would start up again if he did. He crossed his arms and waited and he messed with his gun. The cat rested on his shoulder beacuse she was so small.
Allyster totally hated the fact he was stuck with her he would rather blow up another car and bring down a tower than be with her. He sighed and looked around waiting for her to come. The cat was important to him beacuse it belonged to his brother.

Hayden stood up, not very happy that he was gone for three hours. She was tired and she wanted to go to bed. More importantly, she wanted to go to bed in her own home but that was impossible. "About time!" Hayden blinked at Allyster now with a car on his shoulder. The feline looked comfortable as if it was normal for it to be on his shoulder.
"A cat?" Hayden asked. "That's what's going to help calm you down? What are going to do with it? Suck it's blood for a midnight snack?" The cat on his shoulder hissed at Hayden. Hayden put her hands up in defense. "Easy, Fido. I was just teasing." Hayden could tell that Allyster was waiting on her. She rolled her eyes and he didn't even make eye contact with her.
"Lead the way, Sparky." She said sarcastically.
~~~~~
Amazingly, the two of them, plus the cat, had made it to the safe house without any trouble. But Hayden still felt uneasy. She could feel eyes on them but she couldn't see anyone. Then again, it was dark and they were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods. A perfect time and place to stay hidden. Hayden would know, though, she would never have told Allyster that.
Hayden walked into the house and found the bed. She plopped down on the cushion and sighed at it's comfort. The cat jumped on the bed and gave her a low cat growl. Hayden glared at the cat. "Look, Lassy, you don't like me being on this bed? Tough. I grew up on a farm so I know how to deal with animals. Including, how to declaw a cat. And, let me tell you, it's not a pretty sight." She threatened. Hayden was not in the mood to deal with Allyster, let alone a cat going through menopause.
Allyster simply smiled and left with Hayden. He was going to be fine with Morning on his side. As they got there he noticed that her and Morning were fighting. He walked in and sighed " Touch the cat and you die..." he said and picked her up. Morning licked his cheek "Come on honey." he said and went to his room. He set her on the bed and let her get comfortable.
He walked out to the living room and sat on the couch and pulled a book off the shelf and opened it trying to enjoy the rest of the evening without the urge to kill someone. He was going to hate this especially since the police couldn't solve a case worth crap in this day and age.
He was reading Rhapsody at the moment and preferred to be left alone. Unless someone broke in he didn't want anything to do with her.
