Fursonas--can you?

Can u make one thats COMPLETELY different from animal species?
I know there are Scalies
But i mean stuff like Insects and what not
i still have to wonder about fish,like dolphins and sharks..i mean ive seen them but they are not common

So can you make a fursona of...an insect?? xD
its been buggin me for a while now >w<

You can make a 'sona of whatever you want.
I know of a couple insects (both mantises) and have seen some other odd animal choices. It's your character, so it's totally up to you. There's no rules stating which kinds of species you have to use.
