Marcus tossed his Divinations work onto his bed, getting ready to head down to dinner. The students from Beauxbatons and the students from Durmstrangs would arrive tonight. He took to the stairs at a trot, and fellow students moved to avoid him. He wanted a front-row seat for the ceremony. The two schools, rival to each other and Hogwarts, always made dramatic entrances. The students from Beauxbatons, he heard, stayed in Ravenclaw Tower when they came, and the Durmstrang students with the Slytherins. He sat at the Ravenclaw table when he reached the dining hall. Headmaster Snape already stood at the podium at the front of the large room, waiting for all of the students to be in attendance.

Mayumi was with her school being really nervous about it the entire event. She thought she might screw up like she always did at school when it came to doing things in front of people. She was being calmed down by her friends of course since she was shaking a bit. Soon she started to calm down a bit when her shaking ceased. She held her the pendent of her flower and bow necklace as she placed it to her lips thinking of a way to avoid thinking about the nervousness and all the stares that would be on and along with the rest of her classmates with her. [Now if I do anything wrong let me know and I'll change it since right now I'm half asleep. >.<]

Marcus waited anxiously for everyone to enter so that Headmaster Snape could deliver an introduction for the two visiting schools. Once all of the tables were full, all was silent, waiting for Snape. He cleared his throat, looking around. "As you all know," Snape said, "the Triwizard Tournament has again come to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Two schools have again come to visit our own. The first of whch is Durmstrang's Academy. Please welcome these boys from the far north." A line of young men in bloodred robes entered, headed by an older man. The younger ones carried thick wooden staves, with which they pounded the ground to a beat. They put on a great show, producing thoundrous peals and blinding flashes of light. At the end, they headed off to the Slytherin table.

Mayumi noticed how all the girls from her school were so interested about watching the boys from the other school to see their entrance. She let go of her necklace remembering she had to be calm or else something disastrous would happen. She waited patiently for the headmaster to announce their school before they would do their dance for everyone. She was so nervous to the bone but was ready to begin right now.

Igor Karkaroff, headmaster of Durmstrangs', moved up to the long table at the front of the room, nodding to Snape as the students clapped and cheered over the show. Marcus clapped, but watched the door, waiting for the next group. "Also, from rather closer than these young men, we have visitors from France. Hogwarts welcomes the young ladies of Beaxbatons!" Snape gestured towards the doors, where the girls would make their entrance.

Mayumi heard the Headmaster of Hogwarts introduce them to his students along with the ones of Durmstrangs'. Soon she and her classmates began to do their dance although it was very flirtatious in a way according to Mayumi. She continued to do the dance with them with a smile upon her face before long it was over and they went to the Ravenclaw table to sit there.

Marcus watched the dance, smiling somewhat. Whistles were heard from all four tables, but mostly Slytherin's. Marcus chuckled at this as he watched. When the dancing was over, he clapped with the rest of them as the girls took their seats. Snape stood again, once more taking to the podium. "We have a few announcements before dinner. First, the Goblet of Fire will be set up in the entrance hall at midnight, tonight. Those of oyu of age already know the rules, but all who do not are welcome to attend a small ceremony. Tomarrow, at dinner, the names will be drawn, and a schedule for the Tournament will be handed out. The Yule Ball will occur Christmas night, as usual, and there will be more information on that later. Also, all House Quidditch games will go as scheduled. Now, without further ado, dinner." Snape gestured with his wand, and food appeared on the plates.

Mayumi sat with her friends at the table before looking around to the Headmaster. She felt one of her friends nudge her to tell her to try the triwizward tournament. She looked down at bit as she bit her lip slightly before seeing the food in front of everyone at the table. She smiled happily to see the food in front of her.

Marcus looked around at the girls in light blue uniforms as he ate. When they talked, they did so in French. Good thing I speak six languages. I hate not knowing what people are talking about. The chatter was mostly about the Goblet, and a little about the ball. Contestants inthe tournament were the only one's required to go, but anyone of age to enter was invited, and underclassmen too, if they were someone's date. He looked down the table, noticing one of the girls with her group of friends around her.

Mayumi was speaking very fluently in her native language with her friends. She would blush every now and again from embarrassment causing her to look down at the table but bring her eyes back up. She looked around before seeing Marcus looking down the table. Due to her shyness she looked down in embarrassment to eat some of her food slowly and quietly.

Marcus saw the girl look down blushing, and shrugged. He turned to his own food, eating slowly. He still listened, only because his fellow Ravenclaws had little interesting to say. The girl who sat next to him spoke suddenly, startling him a little. "If she is so interesing to you, go sit next to her," she said in heavily accented English. "Valid point," he replied, watching her now, "but, what would you do if someone who had been watching you suddenly asked to sit next to you?" The French girl thought for a moment, watching him. "Good point," she said, turning back to her own food.

Mayumi heard her friends telling her to go sit next to him but Mayumi was too afraid and shy to. Mayumi kept eating so she wouldn't lift her head to be embarrassed once more. Mayumi was felt her friends nudging her to go over to sit next to him but she wouldn't budge.

Marcus listened to the girl in question's friends and rolled his eyes. He grabbed his plate and stood, he moved over next to her. The girl on her left moved, and he took her spot. In silence, he looked at the girls who had been badgering the girl next to him, andd sighed. "Happy now?" he said in perfect French. "That was really unnecesary." He continued to eat, ignoring a few shocked looks.
