This whole story involves a cross-dressing disciple of Piandao who is actually an Earthbender from the Earth Kingdom. An Earthbender soldier apart of the Earth Kingdom's army who desires one day to become a Commander, or be requested to join a Special Task Forces. Next up is the infamous Banished Prince from the Fire Nation, Blue Spirit, or whatever you want to call him. Lastly is a female known for her signature outfit and mastery of the katana, the Red Butterfly they called her.
When Piandao receives the news that the Fire Nation is preparing to assult Ba Sing Se, Lin hears about this and requests her leave to protect her nation. Though upon returning to her homeland, Lin continues with her disguise in order to join the Army. An Earthbender soldier, named Jun Li, assists Lin in getting into the Army. He is yet to find out that Lin is actually a female and not a fellow male 'buddy'. They end up spending quite a lot of time together, considering Lin ended up with Jun sharing a room in the soldier's quarters.
On their journey to Ba Sing Se, Zuko and Iroh come across a non-bending competition. There is a cost to enter and the winner would win all the entry fees with the prize amount. Seeing this as an opportunity to get some money for their trip, Iroh got Zuko to enter. The current top fighter awaiting for a new challenge was just a mere female nicknamed the Red Butterfly. Though, there was some cheating involved in the fight, which ended in Zuko's lost. That meeting marked the first of the many events after of them crossing-paths.

Lin began as a prisoner to the Fire Nation, caught and forced to work for them. But, she led the small working group of Earthbenders to freedom and escaped from the slavery. She collapsed as she was running away and was taken in by Piandao, a renowned Swords Master. He took her under his wing, instructing her to be like a boy to hide herself from the fury of the Fire Nation. Lin did as she was told, staying by Piandao's side and learnign the art of the sword herself. Piandao allowed her to continue practising Earthbending, but requested her to be as secretive as possible about it, so secretive that even he didn't know she was practising it. But, the her stay with Piandao is long overdue and it is nearly time for her to return to where she belonged, in the Earth Kingdom. Hearing news about the Fire Nation's future plan of attacking Ba Sing Se once more, Lin's desire to return grew greatly. She wants to return to fight alongside her people in protecting their homeland, but it won't be that easy, especially since she's just a girl.★ sυsнɪˍвσɑт ★

Jun Li was born and raised in Ba Sing Se. His family is one of the few notable wealthy families, but he long since abandoned that title. He dreams of one day becoming a powerful Earthbender, claiming the title as Commander or being recruited to a Special Task Force. But, as a child from a wealthy family, Jun is never taken too seriously and is always 'babied'. It angers him quite a bit that people won't take him seriously and let him fight freely, in fact no one will treat him as their equal. They would either be extremely nice to him, or avoid him often, thus the reason why he had his own dorm room in the soldier's quarters. Oddly enough his room was quite nice compared to the others too. In the end, Jun just wants to be considered just like everyone else, equal to them, after all, he's just a man too.★ ρɑρєʀкєʏ ★

Born as the prince of the royal family in the Fire Nation, Zuko soon became the Banished Prince upon losing his honour through Agni Kai with his own father. The condition was set that for Zuko to regain his honour, he must capture the Avatar. Thus, over the next three years that was the only thing on Zuko's mind. His uncle Iroh, the former General, accompanied Zuko on his journey. Now no longer truly yearning for the Avatar, his journey takes him to Ba Sing Se where he will find refuge with his uncle from the Fire Nation, mainly his sister Azula. Despite being apart of the Fire Nation, under the disguise of the Blue Spirit, Zuko performs many, sometimes criminal, acts. Throughout the course of his journey, the only thing Zuko really desires is the peace of his mind.★ sυsнɪˍвσɑт ★

Luu, commonly known as Chen, was born from the death of her mother. Her mother was extremely weak when she gave birth to Luu and died in result of it. Her parents were traveling and found the Sun Warriors who took them in to assist in the birth of Luu. Her father left Luu in the care of the Sun Warriors as he traveled to her mother's home to bring the news of what happened, Luu never saw him after that. She ended up learning much of her Firebending from the Sun Warriors, following their belief that Firebending represents life and energy and not as an instrument for destruction. Apart from Firebending, Luu took up the katana which was the only memory she had of her father. After mastering Firebending, Luu couldn't stay any longer with the Sun Warriors, mainly because she couldn't really completely follow their ways. She was a bit 'colder' than them, thus she headed off trying to discover more about her past and ancestors.★ ρɑρєʀкєʏ ★

Piandao was waiting for the time Lin would tell him she wanted to leave to return to her homeland. He knew it was going to happen soon, after all, she did eavesdrop on a conversation about the news on the Fire Nation's plan to attack Ba Sing Se. Though, the attack won't happen soon, but she had to leave now if she wanted to settle into the Military of the Earth Kingdom. Having no children of his own, Lin, was like his own.
A small smile crept onto Luu Chen's lips. No competitors left eh? Seems like this would be her victory prize. Luu Chen, nicknamed the Red Butterfly, traveled often from town to town. Currently she was in the Earth Kingdom, she had stayed in this town for quite a bit, long enough to gain some admirers from other fighters. It was easy for her to stay in places long, considering there was nothing that would give away that she was part of the Fire Nation. Even her eyes didn't give it was, unless someone stared into them. Grey eyes with a strong spark of gold through them.
"Anyone left to challenge the Red Butterfly?" The organizer of the competition called out to spectators.

Lin peeked her head out from the corner.
"Master Piandao," she called, "I-I have something to ask."
Her voice grew as she continued to talk. She didn't want to leave here as Piandao was the closest thing of a family she'd ever have, but she must. For the sake of her people.
"I'm going to Ba Sing Se," she announced with finality. It wasn't a question; she was reporting one what she planned to do.
"Me," Zuko said breaking the silence.
The crowd parted for him to enter the arena. He entered silently, drawing his dual sabers. It was a gamble to enter the contest, but Zuko was confident that he could win. After all, him and his uncle needed all the money that they could get.

Piandao looked at Lin, his face unchanging. Then, he let out a sigh.
"I knew this day would come eventually, but do remember, Lin, that here will always be called your home," he smiled softly.
"This is an all or nothing fight!" The announcer declared and the crowd cheered. Luu stood, barely in a position to fight, her katana extended out from the sleeve of her kimono, elegant in manner.
"Let this be quick and short, no?" She smiled lightly bowing slightly as a formality, which was quite rare to see in such an area.

She smiled and hugged him before leaving.
As she stepped out of Piandao's home, her home, she stared back one last time. Knowing that this woudl always be her home was the comfort she needed.
Zuko returned the formality and in his style, attacked first.
He slashed aggressively to gauge her skills. It was meant as an intimidation. Zuko slashed with power and almost clumsily on purpose.

"Hold on Lin!" Piandao called after her heading out pulling along an Ostrich Horse. "Use this to get to the Earth Kingdom, then you can take the refugee boat that will bring you inside Ba Sing Se."
Luu swiftly dodged him, sending out a smooth slash at his hat specifically before playing out a duck kick.
Something about this character made her curious. Since she had been in this town for a while now, she knew just about everyone here, but she didn't recognize him. A traveler? Probably. An Earthbender sneakily made a little wall behind Zuko's foot, there to trip him if he happened to dodge Luu's attack.

"Thank you," she smiled and went on her way.
Zuko narrowly dodged the slash to his hat, but he had to keep his identity hidden. She was skilled, he admit that, but he wasn't sure if she was on par. Zuko dodged only to find himself fallen upon the ground with the katana to his throat. Zuko glared past the brim of his hat. How did he manage to fall like that? He was sure he had hit something, but said nothing.
He stood up, and left the arena and what little money he and his uncle had left.
"Don't worry Zuko. We -," his uncle began to comfort him.
"Shut up," Zuko snapped.

Luu Chen was actually frowning when she received her prize. There was cheating involved and she knew it. It was nearly night now, she really wanted a fair battle, plus that man was quite skilled. She headed off, back to the place she was currently renting, on her way she spotted two individuals. A fat, squat man and- and the man she fought in the afternoon! She headed over to their area, they were poor travellers it seemed.
"Hi," she greeted simply.

"What do you want? You already have our money," Zuko said without turning around and stopping.
Zuko was bitter, not because he lost, but because he had the feeling he lost out of deceit.
