Racial info: Thannas' most ancient traceable ancestor was a Hellhound aligned with the Unseelie Fae (Night Court), of purest blood who once angered the Queen of Underhill. Cursed to take hound-form at her whim, he was sent to harry the souls of those she scorned, each night on the Wild Hunts (The Wild Hunt is controlled by the Queen of the Unseelie Court of the Fae. And sent out to hunt those who displease her). Over the years, however, the blood has been diluted, most of the family is no longer so bound to the Queen, and some crossbreeding has occurred to create the rather eclectic mix that is Thannas. In short, the kid is a mutt.
Natural Ability:
Blind Sinner - Long story short, Thannas has the ability to render himself invisible for periods of time. This does not at all make him immaterial, but it does make him fairly good at hide and seek. If only he wasn't so noisy...
Personality: Thannas is the oddball. Born into a scattered, well-traveled family, it is a safe guess that he was probably dropped on his head at least once since coming into existence. Thannas possesses an airy, almost otherworldly demeanor in the way that he carries himself, and whilst he has a rather scathing, cynical wit when he chooses to employ it, he rarely does, or it falls a touch short of his intended conveyance. Having a rather bad habit of talking to inanimate objects, he will oft get the two confused and start talking to walls like they're people, and people as though they are walls. If he does happen to realize his mistake, he will apologize profusely. He adores interacting with others, he simply isn't the most apt in doing so.
He is the Luna Lovegood of Hellhounds.
Also, he likes to look pretty, thus, despite his eccentric behavior, he tends to dress neatly, in styles of dress handed down different strains of his family line. Most predominantly oriental and medieval European. Though he is a little screwball disappointment of a hellhound, he simply tries to adhere (at least visually) into the image that he believes his father desires of him. Dare to criticize his garb and you will have one fussy pup on your hands.
As one might expect from a hound, he comes bearing an intense desire to please his betters, and those that he comes to adore. This however, does not mean that he isn't easily distracted, and quite often his good intentions go awry. Also in a puppyish sort of way, he tends to drift in moods from hyper, to almost a complete, cuddly collapse. Thannas has no concept of the personal space bubble, and usually tries to leech onto the next source of heat whenever such floppish moods overtake him. Affectionate to a fault, he'll give anyone a chance once, though if you hurt him, that chance is, perhaps, gone forever, as this is one pup who is well aware of what a grudge is, and how to sink his teeth tenaciously into one.
Not to say that Thannas isn't intelligent, through all the airy-headedness, he is, which occasionally does surface in sharp barbs and the once in a while pointed comment. These times are few and far between, however, as he is not only very susceptible to the opinions of others, but also seems to have some trouble accessing the very large database of accrued knowledge he has attained, another indication that he isn't quite all there in the headspace. Sweet and stubborn, he doesn't let this get him down, and instead will persistently try, try and try again until he manages to get it right. Or at least passable, if you'll understand.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Born from a long line of Hellhounds, most closely related to the Black Dog, Than has proven to be an utter disappointment to his strict, honor-bound father; he was sent off to school in order to actually become something of use to his long and dutiful family line. Thannas is not precisely thrilled about this, but as he loves and adores his sire in an almost puppyish fashion, he has obediently begun to attend classes in the hopes of winning approval. This doesn't mean he isn't terribly homesick, however.
FEAR: Soul Smoke (Gambler's Chance) - This attack is unleashed whenever Than reveals his left eye (which, if revealed, is a jet black, smoking abyss with a pinpoint of violet glowing in the center), the eventual nature of this 'attack' would be, naturally to reap souls, however, it currently provides the 'flashback', calling up one's pivotal memories and causing a degree of damage; essentially forcing the subject to relive them mentally and emotionally, with a backlash of physical damage. This, unfortunately, has the very real probability of 'missing' and the Soul Smoke will then turn on the user, with the same effect.
