If you would like your characters to raise a family in Purri, there are a few things you need to know first. smile Love is tricky in this world.

Here are some need-to-know guidelines should you wish to go down that path:

In order for your characters to have a family in Purri, they must be a male and female (Sadly, there's no high tech science available for most tribes in this area; we are lacking a 'GMFC' clinic, have no magical means, and the scientists aren't good at sharing. xd ). The female must become pregnant, and the rest goes on from there... 3nodding

Secondly, they must have a strong enough relationship bond. This is in order to be able to prove their love to their fellow tribe members, so they have their blessings to get married. heart (Otherwise things can get nasty for your characters, who could end up, shunned, or as outcasts, or worse! eek ).

The characters in question need to be 'compatible' if they want kids. Usually, only members of the same tribe are able to conceive children. (However, there are a few exceptions...) Though, most crossbreed combinations are infertile/almost impossible...

If members from two different tribes want to be together, they are going to have to fight to change the way things are, or be outcasts and start their own tribe in an unclaimed territory. (Most of the unclaimed areas consist of things like: swamp/bog, haunted woods, old ruins, wildlands, untamed forests, snowy tundra, grassy plains...)

One main character is allowed per person at this point in time, however, you may attain more characters by adding family members. (i.e; by making your characters have children)

You can roleplay the pregnancy however long you feel you need to explore it, but the kids must be born eventually. (No magical cookies that 'clear up' pregnancy or 'pretend pregnancies' that make big, fake bellies.)

When writing labour scenes, you can either do something incredibly, extremely toned down, (though there can be some drama and moaning, as expected XD) or you can simply use a good old time skip. "Oh look, instant delivery!" biggrin

Once these are born, they're your characters to roleplay and grow, so make the decision wisely. 3nodding

There's a limit on how many children your characters can have. No having a huge family of 21 kids; you'll never be able to roleplay them all and that's just silly! The amount of children varies depending on what race/s your two characters are, however, the limit for now is 1-5. You can let your characters have, for example, one child, or twins, triplets, quads or quintuplets, break it down however you like, or do it all in a one-shot, it's up to you both. Keep in mind though, that carrying five babies at once is no easy thing and your character could become quite incapacitated!

This can be spread out over different pregnancies, or all at once. Whatever you decide, you're going to have to roleplay them.

Players can plan out the kid's bio's, appearance, personality, and other info (best to decide before you get your characters preggy, or you might find yourself up the creek with no canoe), then submit a profile skeleton in the 'families' subforum. The family subforum will show which characters are a family, and show new additions to existing familes, too. How handy is that? biggrin

As well, you can decide beforehand who will be roleplaying them. If there's only one child, one person must roleplay them. No switching between 'owners'. This will save fights and misunderstandings in future. =^_^=

If there's more than one, you could have one child character each to RP.

You can also ask a friend to join the guild and roleplay your kid characters, essentially making that character theirs to raise and write, so long as you ask their permission first and they agree and have time to do so. 3nodding If they're going to rp your character, I am sure you will want someone dedicated.

And last but not least!

There is a special type of rare flower that can be used as a fertility elixir in Purri.

However, there are only three of these flowers in the world at any one time. They are risky to find, to obtain and to use. The ways to them are usually fraught with dangers or difficulties (the silly things like growing in the most bizzare places!), there can also be poison side effects in some races, and there are also risks with mixing some combinations of DNA together. But for some, it's a risk they are willing to take.

When one flower is taken, a new flower will sprout in a completely different place in Purri (naughty things, they are). In order to get the flower, you'll have to defeat it's guardian. There are various ways to obtain flowers. Should you be uncertain of their appearance, (there are similarities between other flowers), the rare Felia Flower looks like this:

A long, delicate stem, which starts out deep black-ish green at the base, then merges slowly through many greens to a light, crisp green at the ends. The leaves are thin and rounded, with sharply pointed tips and serrated edges, and grow two each side of the stem all the way up, spaced along it.

The top of the stems bow over gracefully and upon these dangle rich purple flowers with a black blush on the edges of their ornate, pointed petals. Five thin, blood red stamen spring forth from their centres, with heart shaped ends of a luscious grape hue. Two fine markings near the base of the petals look like white eyes. The petals are very sily and shimmer in the correct light.

The flower gives off an exotic, sweet, musky scent, reminiscent of a starry twilight.
