Flying Tribe-Floating City

Blyds laughed at having his ear nibbled, wiping a trace of saliva with mock disgust, then wiping his hand on her coat.

"Eww. I might do the same if I thought my ears would be safe" he teased, though he seemed a little tense while they walked. He kept eying the guards and then Albia, not liking this whole situation.

Blyds jumped when Desert flapped her wings so close to him, ducking them and pressing in closer to her side, away from the empty spaces along the bridge. "Please don't do that!" he begged, trying to get his fear of flying and high places under control.

He wrapped an arm around her neck gratefully, shaking his head at her offer to ride on her back. "T-thanks but I'll walk. I prefer my feet firmly on the ground. I hope you don't mind if I hold onto you though...sorry, I'm not usually such a coward. I just have this fear of heights" he sighed, ashamed at his actions. He listened to the strike of her hooves and Albia's talons, admired the lustre and colour of Desert's coat, taking his mind off the fact they were thousands of miles in the sky in a floating city. It was all very well for those who could fly.

***

Albia noticed Desert's gaze on the gold and she smiled superiorly, "Our tribe has a taste for finery, finery. Many beautiful things were used to craft this city, craft this" she explained. "Do you like it? We will show you more, more. Just need to speak Talana first and make you a member of this tribe, this tribe"

She lead them through the large domed hall and along a hallway with others branching off it, then into another hall, this one with a throne set against the far wall, with a scattering of flower petals leading up to it.

The woman who sat upon the throne had golden wings and matching hair that tumbled in rivers of gold down to the ground, an ornate wing clip holding several folds out of her eyes. She dripped with gems and jewellery and a sheer satin empire dress of the purest blue. Extending a hand, Talana beckoned them forward with a queenly wave of her slender arm. "Albia, welcome back to the nest. What new fledglings have you brought for me to play with?" she inquired, her aqua eyes drifting over the Pegasus and the antlered man that accompanied her.

Desert nudged him affectionately. "It's ok. I can understand." Once in front of Talana, she bobbed her head, and touched her muzzle to one of her forelegs. She brought her head up and her ears flickered in every direction, trying to catch every sound that she heard, or thought she heard. She opened one wing and engulfed Blyds in it, determined not to let him be taken away from her. Desert stared at the woman's hair. Where hers was flowing in a river of gold, Desert's mane was tangled, knotted in some places and somewhat dragged on the floor. Same with her tail. It was long, but it was tangled and knotted. Desert swished the tail, trying to get rid of the goosebumps that she felt. She unknowingly hit Blyds. Well, with a tail like that, you can't actually avoid getting hit unless you were on her back. And even up there, there wasn't much hope either.

Flying Tribe- Floating City

Blyds could not stop staring at the woman draped across the throne. She looked like an angel, or what popular culture deemed them to be anyway. He was grateful for the nudge Desert gave. It brought him back to his senses the minute he took his eyes off the golden effigy. He felt like he’d been slowly hypnotised by the queen’s clear, unwavering stare.

He refused to bow to her.

***

Albia quickly answered her tribe leader’s question and provided what other information she had, “I have brought two waifs, waifs. They were found wandering the grasslands. The Pegasus goes by the name of Desert Fire and the other one is not a candidate, candidate” she sneered. “They say they are lovers but I have my suspicions. This one is clearly a hoofed one. No wings and no flying, no flying”

The fluttering of wings surrounded the building the ‘queen’ resided in. It could be heard from outside, from various directions, as well as above and below the throne room. Many of the wing beats sounded too loud or too different to be that of normal birds and flying beasts. On top of that, some things sounded as though they were simply swishing past without the use of wings at all.

***

Talana looked pleased at Desert’s show of respect. She narrowed her gaze at the antlered man beside her while listening to Albia’s report. But then her expression changed and she smiled sweetly.

“Thank you, Albia”

Taking in their dishevelled, dirt and sweat streaked appearances; she spoke,

“Welcome to our hidden city. You both look as though you must be tired from your journey. Please stay and refresh yourselves before you continue. It’s very rare that we have any visitors from down below”

She gestured towards the harpie tamer with a slow and graceful wave of her hand “Albia will show you to the bathing area and the guest quarters. So please follow her. After you are washed and rested, I would like to invite you to come and have dinner with me. I will meet you in the dining hall in an hour or so”

***

Blyds stood still under Desert’s wing, his hooves unused to the sleek shiny floor. He appreciated the gesture and the warmth she was providing. It was chilly for him here when he was used to the desert heat. Numbed fingers fumbled for the small knife that he’d used earlier to cut the cacti plants for their juice. He took it from his belt and hid the knife under the bracelet of grasses he wore on his right forearm (still dressed in the camouflage from the savannah). Something still wasn’t right about all of this. He tried to ignore the sting of Desert’s tail that lashed his side.

“Thank you for the offer. We don’t plan to stay for very long but I suppose we could use a spit and polish” he replied, noting Albia’s look of distaste at his words with a smug smile. He knew that Talana would like to speak with them but she would never come near them while they were considered ‘dirty’. Admittedly, he probably didn’t smell that great after all they’d been through so far. The camouflage paint had long since smeared into grime. So he started to follow Albia out of the hall, stepping carefully on his light antelope hooves.

Flying Tribe- Floating City

Desert blew air into Blyds' hair, trying to reassure herself.
"I don't like it here Blyds. Something is going on, but I can't put my finger, I mean, hoof on it. It's starting to bother me. Do you think that after this, we can escape this place? Maybe go to the other animals' tribe?"
She jigged, her tail sweeping the clean floor. Every place that she placed her hoof, dirt fell off and left a perfect hoof print behind. Soon they were in the bathing area, and Desert dipped a foreleg in.
"Well, it's not too hot, nor too cold. Just right to ease away the grime."
Desert slipped in, letting the soothing water caress her hide and wash the grime away. Dirt was lifted away in puffs when she moved her head and tail. Other flying people came out and presented different types of shampoo, conditioners, and soaps that could be used. A gentle shimmer of sparkles indicated that Desert had changed into a human. She grabbed a bottle of shampoo, squirted some in her hand and slowly massaged it into her hair. Soon, she was rinsing and the smell of mangoes perfumed the air.

Blyds grinned at the puff of breath in his hair, patting Desert’s muzzle. “It’ll be all right. Let’s just keep our guard up. We can talk about this later” he whispered. “I don’t think they mean you any harm”

Not right now anyway. They wanted to make her one of them after checking to make sure she wasn’t a spy for another tribe. If they found out she used to be in the hoofed tribe, they might try to get information from her. Or even force her to work for them to lay a trap for the hoofed tribe. The flying tribe did like making others do their work for them, hence the use of the harpies and other means at their disposal. He noticed Albia’s unwavering gaze on the two of them and hoped she couldn’t hear their whispers.

“Less talking, more walking” the winged woman ordered, giving them both a light shove. “The bathing house is this way, this way”

She frowned at the dirt their hooves were leaving behind. The entire area would have to be washed again by the servants. Talana would already be getting that sorted – the angel liked her palace to be pristine and sparkling.

Albia led Desert into the women’s side of the baths while Blyds was handed off to two sentries who nudged him into the mens’ baths despite his protests.

The harpie woman stood at the side of the large bathing pool, arms folded while she waited, her wings occasionally shifting or stretching. “Of course, it is a bath, a bath” she retorted at Desert’s comment about the water temperature, rolling her eyes. “It is maintained at the correct temperature. Fresh rainwater from the clouds surrounding the city is always used. Dirty water pours away, away. Don’t tell me you’ve never taken a bath before, bath before?”

***

Blyds was pushed roughly under the stream of water that cascaded down an artificial streambed, forming a tiny waterfall. He was doused with a bucket of warm water and then a soapy liquid was poured all over him before servants scrubbed him clean and dunked him under the waterfall again. Blyds was then pushed into a milky looking bath that was deeper than the others and smelled amazing with whatever bath salts or minerals were in the water. He went under and came up spluttering, pushing limp hair out of his eyes to glare at the guards that had dumped him in it. “I am quite capable of bathing myself you know! And what is the point of this bath?” he pointed to the water, shaking droplets off his antlers.

The guards merely smirked at him in condescension. “You’ll find out soon enough. We only reserve that bath for special guests” The one with fairy wings spoke up, leaning on his spear with a grin.

***
After Desert had finished her bath, Albia walked over with soft drying cloths and a set of silken clothes. The fabric looked rich and costly, embroidered with intricate designs. Talana liked to look at beautiful things and so her guest would be made to look their best for dinner. “Please put these on, these on. We cannot keep her waiting” The bossy harpie ordered, picking up the clothes and shaking them unfolded. ((I’ll let you decide what you want Desert to wear – a dress or a set of pretty robes or even a skirt and top, it’s up to you wink ))

Desert's Dress

Flying Tribe
Floating City

Desert shook her head. "Not in this temperature. I always took baths in a cold stream back home." She got out of the bath, and toweled off. She dressed in the dress that was given and stepped out. The fabric accented her brown eyes and tanned skin. Her black wings fluttered efficiently, drying her hair so that it was straight and shiny. Her feet were in shiny gold high heels, and she was stunning. The hoofed tribe symbol was clearly visible on her shoulder.

Flying Tribe - Floating City

((Wow, that's beautiful!))

“Streams are not baths, not baths” Albia sniffed disdainfully. "It is always pleasant and cool up here, even when it is summer. But I can't expect you to know, can I, can I? Your former home, as you call it, is not what we here call civilisation, civilisation. Talana teaches the willing. Maybe she will decide to take you under her wing, wing"

She inspected the equine woman once she had dressed, walking around her with an appraising look before giving a sharp nod.

"That will have to do, have to" Albia announced, as if Desert were not a picture of beauty. She began to walk back down the polished and airy hallways with their open sides and windows, leading Desert to a banquet room in the inner chambers of the palace.

"This way, this way. You are now fit to gaze upon whilst we dine, we dine" Her hawk's eyes settled upon the marking that was branded on the woman's shoulder and she curled her lip in a smile. She knew that symbol. The winged denizens of this tribe knew all of the tribes' and their symbols. But she would await her queen's word before questioning. No sense asking the captive now, and having to hear the same things twice.

She walked into the dining room and bowed before the angelic figure seated at the head of a long table that was decorated with crystal and silver and gold, on a white table cloth. All of the chairs were backless, with decorative comfortable cushions and there were flowers that matched the themes of finery. Along the table were seated others in their finest clothing, all looking like they held places of importance in the angel's court.

Albia pulled out the seat on the left hand side of Talana, indicating that Desert should sit.

Talana smiled at the young woman, looking approvingly at her. She seemed to be more at ease and more open with talking to her now that she was properly attired to be in her presence. "I am glad you could join us for dinner, my dear. I do hope something of our provisions will be pleasing for your tastes. If there is something you desire, please let us know and it will be prepared for you" she offered.

She then turned her attention back to the gathered members of her tribe that had joined her for their meal, casting her benevolent smile over the room.

"Brothers and Sisters, now that we are all gathered together, let us say Grace before we eat" She clasped her hands before her and bowed her head, leading them through the prayer. A resounding murmur of Amen, could be heard throughout the dining hall before soft music started to play from a small band of musicians in one corner. Talana picked up her cutlery from the outer edge of the plate and began eating some of the cooked vegetable recipes that were arranged on her plate. She ate small bites, placing her cutlery down on the plate for each bite and then picking them up to take another. The ettiquette here was very polite and quite formal, not like the friendly and casual dining that most tribe members were used to.

"Please, tell me about yourself" Talana invited, with a friendly tone, "I see that you bear the mark of the hoofed ones upon your shoulder. How did you find living with them?"

***

Blyds, meanwhile, was nowhere in sight at the dining table just yet. The guards had forced him into a pair of loose pants that tied with a sash around the waist and a button up shirt - clothing that did nothing to keep him warm in the climate and was kind of annoying to wear when he was used to the garb of the savannah. They also wound wire jewelery and dangling baubles off his antlers and polished them so they looked shiny. It looked nice on him, but Blds could feel them dangling and wanted to shake his head to dislodge them and he hated the smell of the polish - it was all floral and girly. He was then led down the hallway to the dining room, the guards holding an arm each so he wouldn't be able to run.

He looked around the room, spotting Desert sitting at Talana's side and he stilled, unable to take his eyes off his traveling companion that he had helped to escape from their home village. Desert looks so incredible! A grin came to his face as he stood there and stared at her for a moment, forgetting everything else. He had never seen her like this before, looking so...what? Something he couldn't put his finger on but it suited her. But then, Desert was a Pegasus. They were naturally lovely looking creatures. He felt the happiness fade as quickly as it came. Desert looked like she belonged here, with all these beautiful people. Maybe it would be better for her to find a new home amongst the flying tribe and he could go back. It seemed she would be well liked here.

He knew better though. Blyds was worried they would try to use her. The flying tribe might look nice but they were far from saints. Their constant attacks on the feline and insect tribes made sure of that.

Talana looked up at her sentries as they brought the antelope man in "Ah, and here is our other guest..." she spoke, motioning for her guards to let go of his arms. Blyds walked to the table and sat down, wondering what that strange bath water had done to him. He didn't feel any different, apart from having really nice, soft skin. Maybe the guards were just trying to wind him up.

Desert smiled, trying to mimic Talana's table manners. "Well, for starters, I'm a pegasus. I was born and raised with other equines, and when I learned I could shift shapes like that," Desert snapped her fingers, "Well, I went to live in a village. Other than that, I help a neko from the feline tribe gather herbs for her tribe. She's considered a specialist in herb gathering. One could say she has a talent for finding the better herbs than anyone in her tribe." Desert fell silent as she ate some of her food, pondering on what Talana was asking of her. "I like living amongest other equines and related species. It's fun. Though, I wish the leader of my old village wasn't so mistrusting. He almost killed my friend, just because she was gathering herbs for her tribe on hoofed tribe land. And he almost got me as well, if it wasn't for Blyds. We were running from him. But I would go back to live there in a heartbeat. Even though I have wings and should probably be part of the winged tribe, my home and heart are down there, on the savannah, with my very best friend Blyds. He gets me, you know?" Once she was done, she threw Blyds a cheeky wink and a grin. She discreetly rolled her eyes at Blyds, telling him silently that she thought that this was overly done and all this ceremony wasn't really needed.

Albia stood off to one side, quietly watching over her leader's guests.

The angelic woman watched the Pegasus’ actions from the corner of her eye; making a mental note to work on her table manners should she decide to stay. Her manner of speech was rather forward and brusque, yet she made her meaning clear enough. Talana’s mouth twitched upwards at the revelation of her animal side. She had known the girl was some sort of equine combination, a Pegasus confirmed her suspicions nicely. She was pleased to hear the young one’s ease at shape changing, meaning she likely had good control over her powers and herself. Winged tribe members strived to be the best at everything they did.

“I suppose one makes the best of their situation, when they do not know any better. You have not yet seen all the wonders and beauties our tribe could offer you. Yet I like your positive attitude. Your herbalist friend sounds like an interesting little character. I wonder if we have made her acquaintance in the past. We often have run-ins with those naughty felines. They seem to simply adore those with the gift of flight. I think it’s the movement that attracts them the most, they just cannot help themselves” She replied with a gentle flap of her wings, looking amused, a sparkling laugh spilling from her glossy lips. Her look soon turned sympathetic while Desert regaled her with information about her tribe leader. Talana knew of Ceros and disliked him and his ways but as their two tribes did not interact, she normally contented herself with pretending he did not exist. She now, however, reconsidered after what she was told. Her hand lightly fluttered to rest upon Desert’s and she looked upon the girl with her most kind hearted expression softening her aqua eyes. “How…barbaric. I am sorry to hear of your difficulties. As a tribe leader, one should know there are other methods to peace besides violence” she sighed. Force was useful at times, yet a wise leader knew when to employ it and how much should be used.

Talana had wanted a way to subdue those kitty cats and stop their pesky meddling in the winged tribe’s lands and affairs for some time now. Accepting help from Ceros and his tribe of hoofed and dusty creatures was too beneath her but if she could somehow give him this feline trespasser, the feline tribe would be in the palm of her hand. They’d have to leave the mountain plateau and do whatever the feline tribe said. Talana knew that she could use Desert to get rid of the cats once and for all. All she had to do was make the girl a promise. She would ask to meet the neko girl, and perhaps she could make Desert take her to her. She had her friend, Blyds, as a bargaining chip. Talana, besides, had decided she already liked this girl. She was spirited and spoke her mind. When Talana wanted something, she made sure she got it. She would make sure that not only would Desert help them but that the Pegasus joined as a member of the winged tribe. She had too much potential to go to waste. First things first, they would have to remove the old tribal tattoo, the taint of lesser races, from her. Then they would begin her transformation. Talana picked up her glass and took a sip of the wine, thinking over what she would do.

She looked at the antelope, sitting at the table stiffly, warily eating bits of food and glancing around the table suspiciously at everyone except Desert. “You introduced yourself as Blyds. May I inquire what your plans are, now that you have left behind your previous place of residence?” she asked politely.

***

Blyds did not want to answer Talana’s question. He had caught Desert’s gestures and returned them with a look that said he thought they were all pompous idiots. He poked about the food on his plate, eating slowly. Although he was hungry, he didn’t care too much for the fine cuisine and would prefer honest home cooking. He couldn’t be bothered with the etiquette either. Pick it up and eat it suited him fine.

He shook his head somewhat as a bauble dangled in front of his eyes, finding it distracting and annoying. A jewel flew off his antlers and landed in someone’s soup with a splash, causing a small commotion and some disapproving looks from the other side of the table.

He tried to tell the winged woman the sentence that formed in his mind but instead, much to his horror, heard himself say something different. “I plan to follow my friend wherever she goes, unless she tells me otherwise. She and I are both outcasts and I can’t help but think that it’s partly my fault. I should have done more to help her or at least offered to take her place somehow. Seeing as we are both in the same boat, we may as well travel together. I won’t leave her alone in this world. Unless she wants me to” he glanced at Desert, feeling awkward for blurting that out. What was with him today? He shook his head, sending another gem flying, which hit the winged woman across from him squarely in the forehead, between the eyes.

"Sorry!" Blyds apologised, as he received more angry glares. He tugged pieces of decorations off his antlers, putting them aside, trying to ignore whispers regarding his poor social skills.

Flying Tribe
Floating City- Talana's Presence

Desert knew with her next words she was treading on dangerous ground. "Yet a wise leader would know when to be at peace with a neighbor tribe rather than try to take it over. At least Ceros had the wisdom to see half that."

Desert glanced down at her food, but used her peripherals to gauge Talana's reaction. "Even though if the Flying Tribe can't make peace with any other tribe, at least they can open trade, yes? Surely there are a few here who like fish and herbs. For a nice trade, I'm sure the Feline Tribe will be to happy to oblige. Provided that they aren't attacked. Numbers are few even without war. Hm."

Desert took another bite of her food and chewed thoughtfully. "Concerning my feline friend, I have no clue as to where she lives, nor am I tracker. You'll want a bloodhound for that, and you'll have to start back in the savannah in order to get her scent. Not that Ceros will let you. He'll most likely run you out before you can explain what you are doing there. Other than that, I have never been to my friends house."

Desert smiled at Blyd's words. They touched her deeply, and a slight blush crept onto her cheeks. "I would like Blyds. Thank you for being considerate. I would the same you know. Maybe I can get you to trust the air. My mane is certainly long enough for you to grip on to, and it won't hurt me, I promise. And take those ridiculous babbles off your antlers. They don't even look right on there."

She didn't know what came over her, and so she politely shoved more food into her mouth.

((Sorry this took me so long. I was having the hardest time trying to decide what to have Talana do or say next. I hope it's okay))

Flying Tribe
Floating City

"Ceros' idea of wisdom and my idea of it are different things, darling", Talana smiled, shuffling her wings gently. "He does not wish for peace, nor our friendship, that much has already been established. And neither do we need anyone's friendship" she added, sipping her drink. "Most tribes we leave alone, except for when they get in our hair, and the felines constantly do so. As do the other creeping things of this world" she mentioned, hinting at the other tribes the flying tribe attacked; insect, reptile, aquatic, and the misfits know as the other animals tribe. All things that birds and other flying creatures liked to prey upon. Of course, the flying tribe would never admit this was due to their animal instincts, they would always blame the other tribes somehow.

"We are entirely self sufficient as a tribe and do not need to open trade with anyone other than whom we choose. Thus far, we have not been given enough reason to agree to trade with anyone other than the nocturnals", she explained calmly, watching the girl with amusement. She certainly was plucky. "It is not a matter of can't. It's a matter of won't" she stated, and another soft laugh trickled from her rosy lips.

Seeing her guest eat, she smiled, glad that Desert appeared to like the food. It was some of the finest cuisine, all grown by the flying tribe and prepared by their chefs.

"Oh, we don't need blood hounds, gracious no. The canines are not to be trusted either. Trust me, we have our ways of getting what we desire without them. We wouldn't even need to go near that dusty old savannah. No, all I'd need is a description of her. Just tell me what she looks like". Talana told Desert with a knowing look.

"We know all the haunts of the feline tribe, as they settled in them after we had already laid claim to them. But they are too selfish and won't share them. They even pester our nest of harpies that lives in the mountains and steal their eggs...and lately, they dine upon the ones they have killed" she cringed at that. "So you can see why we are having problems". She returned to eating, finishing her meal. "So it would be nice to meet one that is friendly and perhaps strike up a friendship with her" she said, secretly plotting.

***

Blyds finished taking the baubles off his antlers and grinned at Desert. Instantly, he felt much better and he noticed looks of relief around the table where he was sitting. Apparently the other flying tribe members didn’t like gems being flung at them or into their meals. Shrugging, he started to eat his food with a dessert fork, munching it down like he always did, not caring about the dining rules everyone else seemed to follow.

He had just finished his dinner when Talana clicked her fingers, and he felt a strange, weightless sensation, as though he were floating. Looking down, he realised that he was floating! Blyds struggled in mid-air, “Hey, what’s going on?! What are you doing?” he shouted at Talana, who seemed to control his movements like he was a puppet on strings.

***

Talana turned back to Desert as her guards materialised, and surrounded the room. “Now, will you tell me the description of your neko friend, or are we going to have to play games?” she smiled.

Desert sighed, putting down her fork. "Talana, I wish you wouldn't levitate my friend." That was the first time she addressed Talana directly, and probably won't be the last. "Yes, it's a display of power, and yes, it shows poor skills at maintaining a proper poker face. You are gonna hurt Blyds in order to get what you want, yes? Well, I don't know what my neko friend looks like. She could have a thousand colors, or wearing a disguise. I believe nekos do wear disguises, once in a while? It's not uncommon for nekos coming into the savannah to wear disguises so they pass by the guards unnoticed. Right Blyds?"

She put another forkful of her food in her mouth, taking her time to savor the food and get too upset. She trusted Blyds to know to agree with her, after all, there have been nekos who have used disguises to get into the savannah and wreck havoc. She glanced at Talana, her brown eyes almost glowing in the afternoon sun. Hearing some ruckus, she turned towards the sound, and it seemed like some feathers where flying. She turned to Talana, her eyebrow quirking up at the sound.

"Well, I hear something going on. I wonder what the ruckus is about."

Talana only laughed when Desert reprimanded her for using levitation on Blyds. "Whoever said I could be bothered with maintaining such a dull expression, anyway?" she retorted, shrugging off Desert's insults with a wave of her hand. Her eyes glinted dangerously when Desert Rose asked whether she was going to hurt Blyds to get what she wanted. "That's the idea, yes, you catch on fast little fledgling. And it seems you aren't going to tell me what I want to know. How can you claim to be friends with someone you have never seen? I do not believe you are telling the truth" She singsonged, waving a finger at Desert in a tutting motion.

Blyds tried to focus on the conversation, legs and arms flailing as he was hovered several feet in the air, drifting somewhere up near the lofty ceiling. His body was shaking with fear and his teeth were chattering. "R-right! Disguises" he called down to Talana and Desert. "All the time. Everyone uses disguises. Why wouldn't a neko use a disguise? Talana, Desert is telling the truth. Her friend wears a disguise so she doesn't know what she looks like. I don't even know what she looks like" Blyds lied, although he'd seen Nabel hop on Desert's back and ride her into the village that time.

Talana made a small "hmm" of consideration before she uttered a long suffering sigh. "Very well then" The floor began to move and the centre of the floor of the dining room opened up beneath them, causing a wide hole to be stretched in the middle of the room, in view of all the dining guests. "I suppose if you're going to be of no use to me, then I may as well dispose of this trash and take what I want by other methods" she fluttered her golden wings softly, and made delicate motions with her hand, Blyds floating down from the ceiling towards the gaping hole that showed the land far, far below.

Blyds yelled in fear "No, please, no...please!" He called out, his mind going numb from fear. He was terrified, already feeling like he was dropping through the air towards the ground.

Talana raised her hand, about to make the final gesture that would send him hurtling to the ground far below...when there was a distraction! She looked at Desert questioningly before hearing the ruckus the girl mentioned and seeing feathers float through the air.

Albia stormed into the dining chamber and hurried towards Talana, out of breath and her eyes glowing with anger. Her harpies followed her into the room, screeching and flapping, and making a commotion. Some of them were injured, with spears and arrows or other wounds. Hence the feathers moulting everywhere. "Misstress, Misstress. The feline village has us under attack, attack. They have strayed into our Harpie's territory at the top of the mountains and attacked our nesting Harpies there!, harpies there!" Albia yelled in outrage. "I request your permission to retaliate immediately, immediately!"

Desert cocked her head, her sensitive ears catching every little sound. She got up and went over to one of the harpies. The harpy hissed at her, but she asked it permission to pluck a couple arrows from it. The harpy reluctantly consented, and so Desert pulled out a couple arrows, each a different length.

"These all can't be neko arrows; I believe this is an Elven Arrow. See how long it really is? I've only seen these arrows in a book. The neko ones I've found in the dirt and dust around our village when I was a filly. Those ones were old, from when the nekos tried to attack the main village."

Desert looked up at Talana, her brown eyes liquid chocolate.

"There must be a reason why the Elves would attack the harpies in the mountains." She gave the arrows to Talana, and went to wash her hands in water so she could get the blood off of them.

Talana and Albia both watched Desert pluck arrows from the injured harpie. Blyds was still terrified, stil floating in empty space with a long drop to the ground below. He tried to swim through the air, and was able to make it to the edge of the hole while Talana had her back turned to him. Her levitation spell kept him floating, but when she wasn't concentrating fully, he was able to move around a bit.

Talana took the arrows Desert gave her and inspected them."You are right. These are elven arrows. But there are few of them. This could mean the felines have allied with the humans and elves in the town. Or it could mean they stole these arrows like the little thieves they are. As far as I am concerned this means nothing" she looked at Albia, and spread her wings as she put out her arm in command. "You have permision to attack the feline village in the mountains and drive them back into the paw paw valley. Clear them out, and set harpie sentries all over the snowy mountains"

Blyds swam through the air and floated after Desert into the bathrooms where she was washing her hands. He grabbed onto her from behind. "Desert, help me. I don't like flying. Help me down before Talana notices I'm g- "

There was a smashing sound of something being thrown and a voice commanding to find Blyds.

He sighed. "Can I just hold onto you while we make our escape? We have to go and warn the feline village of the danger that's coming to attack them"
