In the grand scheme, 1.2 million's really not a lot, especially for Microsoft, but that still sucks.

Waynebrizzle In the grand scheme, 1.2 million's really not a lot, especially for Microsoft, but that still sucks. It's not something Bill will lose sleep over. Just a minor setback, like misplacing a $20 bill, to us.

Just a minor setback, like misplacing a $20 bill, to us. Doesn't justify all the stealing though. Those MS points pay small XBLA devs too.

Makes you wonder what kind of sentence the hackers will get if they ever get caught.

They have 1.2m worth of hacked MS points, unless they need to pay a fine in points, they could be in some serious trouble. >,> Also this would be considered grand theft.

Reverse engineering an algorithm like that doesn't sound illegal to me. It sucks for indie developers, but in the end Microsoft can only blame itself.

Deathgod of Legend Also this would be considered grand theft. It's not as if they took it all themselves. It's like if someone blew up a bank and everyone in the city took some of the money. Even that seems like a harsh compassion. This whole thing is sort of in a grey area of the law.
