Nicole sat walked amongst the wooden animals admiring their craftsmanship. How would a poem like this go? She had left Shea asleep in their dorm. Nicole sat down on a wooden white horse and pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil.

Erik walked towards the carousel and sat down on a bench in front of it. He couldn't stay in the ice rink any longer, there were too many loving couples there, it was too painful for him.

Nikki looked at the carousel making her remember the fun she had when she was small. She wanted to go up but she thought she would look foolish. She ran her fingers over a black horse.

After watching the happy children riding on the animals and spinning cups of the ride, Erik felt that tug on his heart again. It dawned on him that carousels are usually found in carnivals and circuses. The last time he saw his family was at the circus. The emotionless expression that masked his face fell off to revealed the sad and depressed man he was. He could already feel some part of him wanting to commit suicide.

Nikki stepped back as the ride started again. The happy faces pasted her in a blurr. She sat down on a bench next to a boy.

Erik glanced at the girl that sat down then looked away. He was in no mood to even talk to anyone.

Nikki saw the boy turn his head. She looked down and kicked some gravel.

Nikki had seen the boys face of sadness and hurt.
"Are you ok?" she asked.

Erik sighed at the girl's actions and turned around to face her. Even though his head moved swiftly, his jet black hair managed to cover his right eye perfectly. "If you are bored then I suggest riding the carousel." he said quietly then turned to look at the ride itself when she asked him a quesion. "I'm... fine." he whispered, his face returning to its expressionless mask.

Nikki also looked at the carousel. The carousel brang back memories and riding it would bring to much. She looked away.

He noticed her look away from the ride through his peripheral vision, but kept his sights on the carousel. "Something troubling you?" he asked softly.

"Nothing," she said softly.
She placed her hands in her lap thinking about her family. Her eyes looked lonely.
