Fenix's Room #42

A note is on the door. It reads:
"Abandon all hope, ye who enters here. Also, knock before you enter."

Fenix walked up to his dorm and opened the door, stepping inside. He had already bought his books, as well as some school supplies and gotten his schedule of classes. Looking at the sheet of paper in his hand, he saw that he had the following schedule:
Homeroom: 9am (Mon.-Fri.)
Algebra: 10am (Tues., Thurs.)
P.E.: 8am (Wed., Fri.)

Taping this schedule to the back of his door, Fenix sat on his bed and ripped a piece of paper from his binder. Scribbling a quick note, he opened his door and taped the paper to the front of it. Closing his door once again, Fenix set his books out on his desk and began changing his room to suit him better.

After his room was arranged the way he preferred it, he spread himself out on the soft, cushy bed that was supplied. The pillows were heavenly; firm at the touch, but like a cloud when you lay your head back on it. The blankets were soft as well, and smelled of fresh laundry.
Fenix despised it. Turning over, he leaned over the edge of the bed and peered under the bed. Here, it was dark, dusty and all around not suitable for a regular person. Fenix smiled at the darkness, promising it that he would be back when he was actually tired.
Sitting up, Fenix bounced himself off the bed and crossed his room to the door. Slipping his shoes on, he grabbed his keys and decided that now would be as good as time any to go meander about the school's campus and meet the locals.

Returning to his dorm, Fenix trudged slowly up the steps, once again lost in thought. He had just met this girl, Sol, and he had basically spilled his life story to her. This wasn't something he did.
Opening his door, Fenix stepped inside and closed it behind him. He pressed his back to the door and slid down it, sitting on the floor. He pulled his shoes off and set them neatly by the door, not yet getting up. He watched the last glimmers of sunlight become consumed by night, and watched as the first stars began to appear in the inky black infinte.
With a large breath, Fenix stood up and changed into his sleeping clothes. Eyeing the bed with distaste. Fenix looked out his window, then behind himself, looking back at the door. Seeing as no one was around, Fenix turned off the light and outstretched his arms, a dark, purple smoke began to emanate from him. His skin seemed to melt away, drifting upwards with the smokey substance. What was left, after his human qualities had vanished, was a humanoid creature who, in the darkness, only could be seen by his hauntingly white eyes. Fenix looked at himself in the mirror and felt better. At least he could still do this.
Looking again at the bed, Fenix glided over to it, shrinking in size as he went under the bed and sank into the Underworld, enveloping himself in his home. Closing his eyes, Fenix thought about how lucky he was compared to the other students; He could return home at any time, where they couldn't so easily.

Fenix awoke the next morning, still in the Underworld. As he opened his eyes, for a second he thought it was just a normal day for him in the Underworld. As his brain woke up, he realized that there was a rectangular square above him, and his dorm bed was above that. Fenix sighed, stretched, and climbed out of the hole into the Topside.
As Fenix climbed out of the hole, his human form was already apparent. It was, however, still dressed in the same clothes. Oh yea... Fenix thought to himself, remembering his human form would remain the same as he previously used it. Looking at the clock, Fenix grabbed his P.E. uniform and headed for the showers in the dorm.

Fenix stood in front of his mirror, looking at himself in the tuxedo he had bought. A few minor demons were flitting about him, shining his shoes, making sure he looked smashing. As they finished, one by one they lined up on his bed, awaiting his approval.
Fenix smiled at himself. His hair had been neatly trimmed back into a respectable fashion, and he actually preferred this style more than his longer hair. He also looked closely into the mirror at his face, making sure his skin had been patched perfectly back together. The sparring match he had had with Jeice had really done a number on his human form. So much so that it had taken nearly the entire weekend just to get him looking back to normal.
Turning towards the lesser demons, Fenix outstretched his arms.
"Well?" He asked, doing a small, slow spin. "What do you guys think?" He asked them, getting a few trills of both approval and excitement at a job well done from the demons. Fenix sent them on their way, combs, measuring tape and cologne flying through the air as they grabbed up their tools of their different trades and left from underneath his bed.
After they parted, Fenix was about to leave when one came back suddenly. It held a small black box and bowed it's head, not moving untill Fenix took the box. Opening it, Fenix saw a purple and black Orchid boutonniere. He recognized the flower; It grew only in the Underworld's royal gardens. A note was under the flower. As Fenix put the boutonniere on, he read it;
'Dearest Fenix,
We hope all is well with you're new school. We also heard you have a girlfriend. We certainly hope she is Princess material, and I personally will be planning a trip to come visit the two of you.

Fenix read and re-read the note a few times, panic settling over him. His father was coming to the Topside? To visit him? To scout Sol as the Princess of the Underworld?
Fenix slumped into his chair in front of his desk, holding his forehead in shock.

Fenix approached his door, Sol in tow behind him. Reaching into his pocket, he fished out his keys and unlocked his door, choosing to do it the old fashioned way instead of looking for a shadow to jump through.
He opened the door and stepped aside, gesturing to the interior of his room.
"Ladies first," He said, smiling to Sol.

She smiled and walked into his room looking around. " Thank you....It is just a normal room." She laughed a little. "It looks like my room but I got my girl stuff everywhere." she turned towards Fenix and smiled

Fenix followed her in, closing the door some so a crack was left open. Turning around, he looked about his room and smiled, laughing some.
"Yea," He said, looking at the plain walls. "It is kinda boring in here, huh?" He asked, looking to Sol. Looking past her, he saw his desk, as well as the letter from his father. Trying not to look like he saw the letter, he walked towards Sol and gently wrapped his arms around her, kissing her softly.
As the kiss ended, Fenix looked at her. "How would you feel about meeting my father?" He asked, quite suddenly he felt.

She smiled and laughed a little "Well it ain't to boring in here." She looked at him as it seemed that he was looking at her. She gazed at him looking at his green eyes. She could lose herself just by looking into them. As he walked up to her wrapping his arms around her she looked up at him as his lips softly presses against hers. She closed her eyes wrapping her arms around him and kissed back. When the kiss ended they looked at one another and was surprised that he brought up his father "Meeting your father would be neat." she paused for a second.
"Why do you ask?" she asked curiously wondering if he was planning on them to meet eachother.

Fenix still clung to Sol, slightly mesmerized by the feel of her lips against his. As she asked why he brought his father up, he looked to his desk and nodded his head towards it, looking back at her.
"He's coming out to visit." He said, dropping his arms some so she could go read the letter. "He sent that to me just before I left for the dance. I'm supposed to set up a date with him and..." He paused, pressing two fingertips together nervously. "It sounds like he's scouting you for Princess material.." He said sort of quickly.

She walked over to his desk and read the letter a couple of times. Then she looked back at Fenix with a surprised look. "He looking at me seeing if I'm fit to be a princess." She had no idea what to say or think but that his father is going out her to visit her and Fenix.

Fenix crossed the room after Sol, setting his hands on her hips as she read the letter. Once she finished reading it and it had sunk in, He looked at her nervously.
"If it helps I was going to talk to him and let him know that you may not want this." He told her, taking the letter from her. He glanced at it and shook his head. "He must think that dating counts as marriage up here or something." He said, laughing some. He crumpled the letter up and tossed it into his wastebasket, then sat on his desk, looking at Sol again. "Sorry to drop that bomb on you so suddenly." He said regrettably.

She looked at him and smiled "No its not that its just surprising that ur dad might accept me. No need to bee sorry." She leaned against he as he sat on his desk looking up at him. She grabbed his hands brought them up to her face and softly kissed them still looking at him. "I wouldn't object to becoming your wife." She blushed somewhat.
