There really hadn't been much Adalia could find that would keep her considerably occupied both mentally and physically. The atmosphere of school life wasn't really familiar to her either, so it didn't help that she felt out of place on so many levels. If being in an unfamiliar setting wasn't bad enough, it didn't help that the clothes she wore seemed out of place too. While wandering through the hallways, reading signs as she passed them, Adalia tugged at her white tunic top in an uncomfortable gesture. No, this wasn't at all where she felt comfortable; she would have to get comfortable soon enough though.
A feeling of ease came over Ada when her searing blue eyes caught sight of a plaque that said "GYM" in big, bold letters. Before she even opened the door, she anticipated the smell of sweat and the stuffy feeling gyms always seemed to have. Hesitantly, her hand came to the door handle before she took a deep breath and braced herself to face whoever was beyond the door. Of course, as expected, the gym seemed to be occupied by males--from what she could see with a quick sweep of the room anyway.
Wringing her hands together for a moment, she stood in front of the door, jumping slightly when it slammed behind her. 'Suck it up Adalia. They won't bite you.' The thought hardly gave her any confidence, but she lifted her chin in defiance of her cowardice nonetheless and made her way toward an unoccupied treadmill. As soon as she stepped onto the thing though, her head tilted to the side and her brow raised in question. Now she had a bigger problem than her discomfort in the school setting. How the hell was she supposed to know how to work this contraption?
"Um," the girl started, nibbling on her bottom lip a little while she glanced around the room. "Would anybody mind showing me how to use this contraption?" she asked to whoever may have been listening. It's not like this was the way she normally acted--shy, timid, cowardly, nervous. In fact, more often than not, when in a comfortable setting, Adalia was quite the opposite. But doesn't everybody have their vulnerabilities that make them act differently?
ooc;; sorry; it's long...ish.

It only took a few moments of Ada studying the plethora of buttons before her attention was caught by some guy nearly tumbling into a treadmill nearby. The laugh that threatened to slip was muffled by the simple fact that she wasn't one to put her guard down so easily. Instead, she did her best grin she could offer, though it was lop-sided and seemed a little sheepish. At least she was one step closer to getting this device figured out though.
His eyes, the color of fresh spring grass, caught her own for a moment before she caught herself glancing back down at the buttons before her. "I would appreciate it," Ada murmured before glancing back up to the green-eyed male, now smiling at her. When he asked what she needed, her attention drew back to her original goal. "Oh, um..." Awkwardly, she pointed to the buttons in front of her, raising a brow. "I know that some of these are programs, but is there a way to set it how I want instead of the machine?"
She knew what she must seem like--a total idiot. With her background though, she never really had the opportunity to be around the more expensive devices. Even now, standing on one, there was a sort of reverence for the machine she had. It was almost as if she thought it would become out of her reach in any minute, so maybe that's what possessed her to ask a complete stranger how to work it. Well, that, and she didn't want to go pressing buttons and making herself look more a fool. Ada couldn't help but wonder though what brought this guy over to her.

Fenix watched as she stared at the controls like it was some alien device. Holding his laughter back, Fenix stepped up onto the machine with her, standing behind her. Making sure he wasn't too close, as to make this poor girl even more nervous. He could tell she was already in a confusing enough environment. He didn't suspect that it was because she had never been in an exercise room before. He figured it was because she had never had such luxuries before. Looking down at the controls, Fenix stared. He realized, just now, that he also had never been around one of these. The bench press, yes, that was simple. A simian could have figured that one out. But this...This was something that had been modeled after something in the Human world. Not to be outdone by this mechanism, Fenix bit his humiliation back. "You uh," he said, scratching his brow with his thumb. "You want to just...Use it manually?" He asked, chewing on his bottom lip in silent confusion, hoping she wouldn't turn around and see him puzzling over the very problem he was trying to help her with.

Fenix mashed a few buttons, flipped a couple switches and cursed at the machine a couple times. After all of this, and a few more moments of pulling his hair out, Fenix finally was able to figure it all out. "Alright," He said, pointing to a few buttons. "Apparently you just hit that, and then select how fast you want it to run." He was about to smile, but when a voice from the mat called out to them and told them to basically shut up, Fenix felt the urge disappear. Turning slowly, he eyed the kid now sitting on the mat, staring angrily his way. His eye twitched, and his jaw tightened as his blood boiled. "A gym doesn't seem like the best place to meditate in peace anyway." He said icily, staring daggers right back at this kid. "Unless the clanging of weights helps you find your inner peace..." Fenix turned back to the treadmill, not looking at Adalia, but instead staring angrily off at the wall, taking a moment to take a calming breath.
