This, perhaps the most dangerous of all arenas throughout the exam, is where the fight between the three strongest competitors will take place. The setting is within a giant spire in the middle of a forest; only problem being, the ground, all around the spire -- is a void. If one is to fall into this ground, as in fall out of the tower, they would immediately die. This is the only arena where a mess-up could mean a swift death -- and it is only fitting, for the three most powerful members. However, the spire itself is tall and wide, each floor about a half km in diameter, and the tower itself being about five-hundred feet high.

(OOC: Are we, erm, allowed to come up here yet sweatdrop ? If not, then I'll delete this post gonk .)

Kageko climbed through the entire spire, keeping track of the number of floors and any other detail that could help her. Once she reached the top, the girl made her way to the very middle before turning around in a full circle. She then turned once more to face the stairs. She could sense it, she didn't know how seeing how her heritage and thus her bloodline was a mystery to her, but the girl could most definitely sense it. With a shivering breath, she took in the vast expanse of void that surrounded the entire tower and knew that those who fell in, including her, would dissolve into nothingness, into death. Despite the foreboding feeling, however, Kageko's body couldn't help but shiver in excitement. It had been so long, since Kageko was five to be exact, that it had been in touch with something so familiar and it was the first time that it encountered such a large mass of void. Underneath her wrist bands, the girl could feel Yin-Yang getting excited and she swore she could also feel her necklace acting up in a similar way. However, that was impossible, the chain she wore around he neck was simply that as far as the girl knew.

Soon, though, Kageko calmed herself down, the feeling of anticipation over something as fearful as the void scared the girl, she was scared of herself to having enjoyed something so harmful. This, more than any of the depression and whatnot she had experienced towards the match had the girl focus, get serious. It was the fear of the destruction within herself, which she now found herself completely surrounded by, that pushed Kageko to fully prepare herself. The girl closed her eyes and took in several deep breaths through the mask that she still wore to cover her face. As she continued breathing fully, she also sent Yin-Yang far away from her. Yin she kept on the current floor some distance away from her and Yang she hid in a corner of the building on one of the lower floors. Both were so small, the size of a keychain, and placed in such a way that they wouldn't be seen by her opponents, who had yet to even arrive at the spire. At the same time, they were both also close enough to Kageko that she would be able to easily maneuver them.

"Sora ga ochite iru, ochite iru, ochite iru~" Rini's sing-song voice preluded her arrival to the roof of the tower, hauntingly echoing about the exam area. "Sora ga ochite iru . . .~" The young woman paused at the top of the stairs to take in the sight before her -- the fellow kunoichi before her. A crooked smile claimed her lips as she finished slowly, "Ka-ge-ko~" She giggled lightly and started to pace around the outside edge of the tower, peeking over into the void far below.

The High Priestess let out a low whistle, glancing in her opponent's direction. "That's a long way down, eh? Wouldn't want to fall." Her bare feet and light steps made little to no sound as she continued to circle the tower. She kept a respectful distance from Kageko, hands tucked behind her back in order to make it quite clear that she was waiting and would not attack before the third party arrived. It would not do, after all, for the two of them to wear themselves out and make things easy for Tavian. "Name's Rini, but you probably already knew -- or guessed -- that? Pleasure to meet you, it is, and we promise not to . . . misbehave, ne?" Rini gave another, slightly unstable laugh as she continued her rounds.

"Rukkuappu shinaide kudasai, kudasai, kudasai. Rukkuappu shinaide kudasai, Ka-ge-ko~"

(OOC: Erm.... The Japanese is just Japanese, right sweatdrop ? Or is it supposed to be meant as something else?)

Kageko, who's eyes had been closed, flicked them open only when she heard the footsteps sound out on her floor. The girl remained quiet and still, only nodding once when the other girl asked her if she had already guessed her name. As for the part about misbehaving, the Kageko made no reply. Would she break the rules? Of course not, but the way Rini said it made it sound as if she was talking about something else. It could just be the tension that the girl was feeling that made her over-cautious about everything, but cautious she was.

<'The sky is falling'? 'Please don't look up'?> the girl mulled quietly over the translation that Kami had given her of what Rini had just said. It was a language that Kageko didn't recognize but the being within her did, meaning that it must be quite ancient, She continued to think in silence, her mask making her face unreadable,
Kageko prepared to switch her mode of thought from isolated thinking to a mental conversation until Kaminari spoke--well, mentally, not verbally--first, anticipating what Kageko would ask of her, {I'll stay out here.} Despite being directly told only a little, Kageko understood exactly what the angel meant and did not argue. If Rini was as unexpected as she feared, the girl would need an extra perspective to keep track of the fight.

One of Rini's eyes twitched in annoyance. A nod? That was all she got? Was this girl mute or something? She snorted and continued her rounds of the tower, humming her tune. Where was Tavian? She had seen him in the bar. Was he not coming? Had he given up? With each passing minute, her scowl deepened and her fingers twitched over the handle of Neo's chain weapon. She wanted to start this thing, already.

"Kumo no ame no chi . . .~" Her eyes darted about. ". . . ame no chi . . .~" There did not seem to be a proctor around. Were they on their own? ". . . ame no chi~" Could they start at any time? For all she knew, the third was lying somewhere else in the tower -- waiting out of reach. "Kumo no ame no chi . . .~" The chains slowly uncoiled into her hands, and with a flick of a wrist, Rini started the upper length spinning, the hook on the end hardly visible. "Ka-" She bounced onto one foot. "-ge-" Her hands tightened and body twisted. "-ko!"

With the last syllable of her opponent's name, she unleashed the chain. The scythe-like blade at the end arched toward Kageko's back in a deadly blur.

((Something like that, yeah. It's meant to be just something 'different', so to speak.
Say, if we go that everyone speaks Japanese" -- or the Naruto equivalent of it --
then it's meant to be some older dialect.
But if everyone speaks "English", then yeah, Japanese. >_<

More translation!:
"Kumo no ame no chi." = "The clouds rain blood."))

"Kageko!" As his eye flashed purple, the body of Tavian appeared before his friend, one of his blades, Falcon's Tear, barely out of its sheath to stop the incoming chain. "Already ready to fight, I see. But you can't kill someone when they're not even participating in the fight. That's unhonorable. And I fight with honor." Unsheathing all three of his blades, completely, the Special Jounin slammed them into the ground before him. In no particular order. But they did enhance his abilities, slightly. "I guess we can fight, now. Fight with killing intent, but don't kill. Eh, Rini?" His golden eyes gazed upon the woman before he turned to Kage and chuckeled. "Come on, Kageko. If you die, I'd be upset about that."

(OOC: Oh, woah, I feel like an idiot eek . Didn't notice the OOC in your first post until I noticed it in your second post gonk . Eheh, right, I'll go edit my previous post since Kageko doesn't know any ancient languages sweatdrop . At least, not yet....)

Kageko froze in a ready position, facing Rini. Her straight posture with her feet shoulder-width apart was now replaced by a lower and wider stance, a change she had executed when she pivoted to face the oncoming attack. Her hand was on her katana, but her katana had yet to be pulled out. The girl had recognized Tavian and predicted his interference a moment before she was about to pull out her own blade, an observation that saved her some energy and kept her from revealing one of her fighting styles.

Still not relaxing, the girl quietly nodded to what Tavian said. Even without the mask she wore, Kageko's face would have looked blank. She carefully controlled every aspect of her body, not even allowing herself a shiver. Instead, the girl jumped several feet away from Tavian, creating a roughly equilateral triangle with the points each ninja formed.

When Tavian appeared and blocked her strike, Rini snapped the chain back. She kept it spinning about her, however, as she smirked at the newest arrival. "Kageko is here, is she not? That means she's participating, unless she wants to resign." She shrugged one shoulder. "As for you . . . where's the honor in being late, hm?"

The hiss of the chains and blade through the air was an oddly comforting sound, and Rini relaxed her stance slightly. Her feet slid apart and her left hand flicked to start the other end of the chain slowly spinning, so both whirled in tandem, creating something of a protective field about her. One would be hard-pressed to attack without being caught by the sharp chains. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind, though." Her gaze flicked to Kageko and back. "Not much of a talker, is she? Ah well. Mute or not, everyone bleeds the same." A wide grin spread across her face. "Well, shall we?"

"Honor will become null when no one practices it anymore. I clearly practice it. And it has gotten me this far. But who are you to establish who's late or not? Maybe you're early. But I don't care. Enough talking. Let's get too it." Instead of wearing his normal Konoha flak jacket and black undershirt, he wore a quite different outfit. He still kept the pants and shoes that he normally put on, but a loose, long - sleeved red shirt that made his hands invisible. His hair had clearly grown and was now to the side of his head. A large scoll, for his sword style, rested on his back, aching to be activated. But he would wait to see the capability of the others.

Kageko was dressed in her usual attire. She wore a sleeveless shirt with bracers on her lower arm and a pair of long pants that had quite a number of pockets. In addition to the usual shinobi weapons, the girl also carried a number of visible weapons. They included a whited chakram and a black chakram on her back, what seemed to be an umbrella strapped to her right side with the handle up and a normal katana strapped to her left side. It was this seemingly regular katana that Kageko was ready to draw out at any moment.

The girl wasn't fazed by the protection Rini had set up around herself. It was nothing, easy to bypass. All one needed was another weapon. Simply stick the weapon in the path of the chain and the entire movement would be destroyed. Chain weapons were deadly with their long reach and versatility, but their very strengths made them hard to control precisely and extremely fickle.

As for Tavian, Kageko casually noticed the change in clothes and hair. She noticed that his sleeves covered his hands, making any ninjutsu Tavian used unreadable. Of course, it wasn't like the girl could guess what ninjutsu the boy was using even if he didn't have the sleeves. What interested her the most was the large scroll on his back and Kageko knew just what it was for even if she hadn't seen him when he gained the new addition. It was common sense, considering that she also happened to know the weapon style Tavian used.

The girl watched but made no movement or response to what the others said or did, simply making sure that both were always in her field of vision. She would not be the first to move. She kept her stance calmly, observing and predicting.

Rini rolled her eyes skyward and let out an exasperated sigh. "Obviously not, seeing as, apparently, neither of you want to move. What is this? A staring contest?" A frustrated scowl spread across her face as the chains picked up speed -- near-invisible now to the naked eye. "If you don't want to be here -- don't want to fight -- then leave!" Her hands tightened on the chains and she tugged, sending the razor-sharp ends scissoring through the air toward her opponents.

(OOC: From here on out I suggest we develop a post order? Rini -> Kageko -> Tavian sound good?)

Kageko remained unnerved at Rini's annoyance. It was up to her how she wanted to handle this fight, not the person she was up against. As the scythe came at her, the girl side-stepped to dodge as she drew her sword. A simple move. She had plenty of time to react considering that Rini's easily seen tug came before the scythes started in their new direction. As she drew the katana with one hand, the girl sliced into the chain that was whizzing past her, making sure to keep her body nimble and ready to dodge any potential harm. She didn't need to use what she knew of her weapon styles to draw her sword quickly enough to react to the chain, seeing how she had begun drawing it before the weapon had even begun heading her way.

Kageko didn't mean to try to slice the chain. No, rather than uselessly wasting chakra, the girl would try to use her brains and simply stop the weapon. Once she felt the pressure of the chain on her blade, the girl twisted her blade, catching the chain. Unless Rini could somehow free the chain from the distance she was at, which was impossible unless she knew some sort of technique, the Kiri kunoichi would be unable to successfully use any of the weapon that was between her and Kageko or beyond Kageko.

While the movements were precise and detailed, in truth the Konoha kunoichi's movements were executed in the blink of an eye. Rini wouldn't have the chance to even begin pulling the chain back. This was nothing, Kageko had yet to reveal any of her techniques.

Before he could pull one of his three blades out of the ground, the Oinin watched a Kageko took control of the situation and stopped the chain. He chuckeled. He found that the Kunoichi became quite the serious fighter, when needed. Or maybe it had to do with the annoying bird not being around and she simply seemed a lot more serious. He simply stood, his arms folded across his chest. "This is quite fun." Tavian whispered to himself. He didn't mind not directly being a part of the fight. Atleast not yet. He had a decent way to dodge most techniques and he had a style he would use during the fight. So he could atleast stay back for a second.

((@Tavian: You didn't dodge your side of it? Just stood there? Okay . . .))

User ImageUser Image

Rini grinned when Kageko caught her katana on her chain, and that grin widened when Tavian -- apparently only paying attention to the side of the chain weapon flying toward the other Konoha-nin -- failed to make any attempt to dodge the attack. The chain dug into the back of his knees and the continued momentum snapped the weighted end to wrap around his legs. The High Priestess all but leered. Both of them had been snared -- in a sense -- by such an obvious attack? Oh, yes. This was going to be fun.

"Oops," she giggled before planting her feet, enhancing her muscles with a burst of medical chakra and yanking on both ends of the chain. Tavian's feet would be pulled out from under him -- the tiny, razor-sharp spikes in the chain digging into his skin -- and Kageko would be hard-pressed to keep a hold of her katana, caught as it was in the links and facing the strength of a medic-nin. "Gotcha!"
