Is there a no down load virtual world?

I was wondering if there was one like second life but is a no download and aimed for older, non sexual just either aimed for the older crowd like us or enjoyed by adults. I'd like one compleatly free or free unless you want a special item like how gaia is. I'm unable to go out often and whenever that was an issue i'd just play sims. but this computer can't handle sims either.
I'm the type of person that whenever my brother goes out (we live with our mother but he's moving out he got accepted to a nice college north, I'm 26, single mother so it's cheaper to be here) I ask him what did he do so I could pretend I went out. I know that's horrible but like I said it's hard for me to go out things are expencive i'm too shy..... so if I had something like second life i'd be set, nights when i'm in the mood to be out i'd just hop on the computer and play whatever.
