Plot: A growing investigation of a high class thief is being handled by the police force of the town. Ever since the first stolen valuable a girl in her early twenties has been tracking this man down to bring him behind bars. However, the only time he strikes is in the late night when all is resting in the peaceful town. As the thief steals more and more of the valuables the cop gets closer to thinking about the thief and where he might strike next. Meanwhile she is tracking him down her own life is becoming torn apart quickly.

Xelisa smirked behind the mask, his black body armor hiding all but his hair and dark teal-blue eyes as the dark gray-black jacket he wore wavered around his calves. He lifted the sapphire as large as his fist in his hand, a low chuckle following as he slipped it into a pouch at his hip within the jacket before he turned, a thin dart shooting from the bracer on his wrist and striking the incoming security guard in the side of the throat as a spray of blood followed, splattering the wall behind him and to the right; the barbed needle held a ruby 'butt' the size of a BB as it pinned the struggling man to the wall. He used the sharp claws on his gauntleted hand to scratch a single mark in the man's left cheek, ignoring the man's terrified and slowly glazing eye. He scratched the other kanji into the fragmented glass in front of where the sapphire had sat. He turned and faded into the shadows, seemingly fading from existence.
Within minutes, he sat upon a roof several builings away, smirking as he watched the cars; he had cut the power and disabled all but one security camera to the store and deliberately scratched an 'X' in the lens just to screw with those who would investigate. His black hair hung down over his face as he slipped away, fading into the darkness.

Adriana had been eating dinner in the cafeteria at the station since it was a few hours before she would have to go out to a place where she thought the thief might strike. She hoped that tonight they would get the thief and put the person behind bars. Adriana finished up before going out of room to leave the station to go in her own hair.
She drove to where she might thought he would be going for his next operation. When she arrived she saw the power was out before her and her partner went to the building to find what was missing. She really hoped that there wasn't a dead body. She ran in to see a dead body with his throat slashed with blood across the wall. She called in back-up before going up to the roof to look for the thief somewhere while the others were down in the room taking care of everything else.

Xelisa snickered as he leaned against the wall of a condo several hundred yards distant, glancing down into a telescope that could see the store. He suspected it would confuse the police to find raccoon prints on the roof of the store. He shuddered slightly as he removed the mask, tossing it into an airtight capsule, following it with the armor and jacket before he tossed it down into the sewer from a pipe his 'good' counterpart had discovered by accident upon moving in. He had stowed the gemstone in a hidden pocket down within the well near the water's edge, though where the gem sat was technically below the surface of the water while being hidden within four inches of solid stone. He sat on the bed, knowing there was little in the way of evidence leading to him, not that he really cared about his counterpart's life as he lay on the bed, closing his eyes.

Then you have to suffer the consequences." Adriana saw the raccoon prints and frowned since it wasn't amusing to her anymore after the last few times. It was far from amusing to her now that there was a dead body in the store along with a missing gem. "Is this really that funny to him?" she said. She was suspecting it was a female since a female would have stolen it to wear all these valuables. She narrowed her at the tracks before going down stairs to hear about an X on one security camera while the rest were disabled. She huffed at the sight of this before realizing it would be a longer night than she planned.
Hours later after looking for fingerprints and any other evidence only lead to the kanji on the man's cheek and on the glass where the gem once sat. She thought she was getting closer only to get there later to prevent a death of a security guard. She spent lots of time review the file as she thought about how to take this man down but found nothing that would. It was slowly making her grow more and more angry. Soon it was getting towards morning as she left to go home and sleep to refresh herself with new ideas.

Alexis awoke with a throbbing headache, the sun barely over the horizon. "I know I didn't get drunk last night, but I feel like I was in a bar brawl," he muttered, his pale teal eyes half closing. He sat up with a groan, wearing little more than a pair of black boxers as he slid his feet out from under the sheets. He blinked when he saw a shallow cut that was barely a scratch, barely reddening the skin on his right thigh. "What the heck?" he muttered. He stood and got dressed in his normal slightly baggy dark gray-black jeans, dark blue tee shirt, and black leather jacket.

Then you have to suffer the consequences." Adriana had woken up from her sleep as her sleep was getting interrupted by nightmares of what the thief did to the man. She tossed and turned in her bed trying to make sense of it all but even then that wasn't working for her. In her mind she did the next best thing which was to get out of bed to make something to eat. Which she had gotten out of bed to eat something for breakfast before making a list of groceries she had to get when she went out. Once she finished her breakfast she got ready for the day. She dressed herself in denim jeans, a blue long sleeve shirt that was fitted around her body and a zip up jacket. She put on her shoes grabbed what she needed and headed out the door

Alexis sighed as he slipped on his dark brown cowboy boots and grabbed an apple and his guitar; they were filming a music video not far from where he heard there'd been a murder and break-in. He wasn't sure why it bothered him, the break-in. He noticed a blond woman in a blue shirt and jacket from the corner of his eye and shrugged slightly, dismissing her. He made it a habit to carry the guitar at a downward angle with his right hand near the end of the neck across his back. He shifted it, pausing at a crosswalk and experimentally strummed the opening to the song they were doing for the video. He didn't notice the slight smile that flitted across his face as he played the opening and paused as the light flickered green.

Then you have to suffer the consequences." Adriana was walking down to the place where the murder and break-in occurred last night just to think about where the thief would go to next. She had to be ahead of him if she wanted to catch this murderer and thief. She stood in front of the store only looking at it to remember the events of the night. Luckily the man that was killed had no wife or kids but the family he had was far away. She only had to call them up to deliver bad news to them. This was one of the many things she hated about working as a police officer. After standing there for a bit of time she walked to a grocery store near there to get the food she needed.

Alexis walked toward the grocery store absently. He was deep in thought as he leaned against the wall, not noticing the blond woman (Adriana) several feet away and closing. He took a deep breath as an idea came to him as he shifted, pulling out a notebook as he sat on a bench near the entrance. He started writing lyrics rapidly as they seemed to bloom in his mind. They were almost halfway through the video yesterday, so I think they'll finish it this afternoon, he thought. He paused as he picked up the guitar, his fingers lightly brushing the strings as he started plucking out a tune, not bothering to use his guitar pick.

Then you have to suffer the consequences." Adriana walked by the boy with the guitar once again thinking nothing of it at the moment. She listened to him playing a tune with his guitar finding that she enjoyed listening to the tune. Adriana walked inside of the grocery store to get the items she needed to fill in her pantry and refrigerator. After she got them she paid for them and carried the bags in both of her hands to go back to home to put them in their proper places like always. Something about this boy made her want to know more about him like he was someone important.

Alexis paused, writing a few more lines of lyrics, letting the song roll in his mind as he wrote; he absently noticed the blond walking out of the store, but didn't show any sign of noticing her. A slight roguish smile flitted over his lips as he paused again, switching back to the guitar.
