well frys had a deal with ps3 and uncharted 2 and god of war 3 for 250.00 so i got it. and uncharted 1 and going to sell god of war since i already own it.
at first we couldent get the slim to read my 500 gig hd. but then i looked online the issue and found out i needed an update and i could do that from a pc to flash to ps3. when we did that, we formatted it and it works fine.
but then traggedy struck found out you cant transfer rockband data to new console only to a new hd on same ps3.
i was more then pissed when i found out since i was almost done with every thing on rockband 2. so now i have to start from scratch. try and redownload all my bought songs if i can find them and then start over adventully. not sure when i can dont want to drive my family crazy over n over again with the same songs so probably have to wait till iget my own tv and can play in my room.

Sweetie, as far as your new hard drive and game transfers, I've been there. And you can actually transfer your old HD to your new one. Few easy steps -- First, you need an external harddrive. You go into your settings listing and create a backup of the HDD to your external harddrive. Then, insert the new HDD and format it to the playstation. From there, all you have to do is go into your external harddrive and select to copy it. ALL of your information from your former HDD is moved over to your new one. Hope this helps some! P.S. Transfer I instigated to a new hard drive and PS3 was a 500GB as well. On a side note, PS3 now supports cloud saves so you can transfer any and all progress from one PS3 to another by uploading to the Cloud. As long as it's the same account, you can keep everything in one game that way too. It's easier for multiple games to do the way previously described, but one game Cloud is simple.

Quack Quack Quack." i know about the hd thing, and its not as easy as you think, you need a certain type of hd sure u can format any hd. but when you all have to format to support bak up more then 30 gigs too my friend had to do that with the one i borrow. and i think that cloud thing is only for + members. and i am not and if its not its too late now becuse i dident know about it.
