Party just wants to have fun, and she doesn't much care what she has to do to get it. She's highly sociable and carelessly flirtatious, finding it just as easy to make a new friend as to leave one behind. Her attention span is short, though, and she's always moving toward the next new thing.

Path treads softly. She avoids conflict by constantly making concessions, making her a bit of a pushover, but she's usually unperturbed nevertheless. She's not very decisive, but she thinks she might want to pursue something like kin relationship counseling. Except she's not so sure she'd be skilled at that, so right now wandering aimlessly and meeting nice kin is enough for her to get along.

A decisive hunter, Faster likes to get things done. He enjoys running and hunting, but he's not likely to spend much time discussing either of them. He's pretty quiet as far as talking goes, actually, and prefers solitude or the company of Might, his gryphon.

Rumble needs to be cocooned in sound to feel comfortable - he loves hearing things, because it makes him feel connected with everyone else, and he's likely to fill the silence with a constant stream of chatter. He thinks there's beauty even in a cacophony of sound, and he aims someday to start an interspecies choir of kin. With many unique voices joining in, the result will always be be big and beautiful - just as multitudes of little grains of sand can express themselves in ways that individual grains of sand never could.

The totoma’s tribe moved often, and one such time occurred as the totoma matured from an awkward but hardy youth to an adult. The tribe moved as a group and did not stop for stragglers, because they were a tribe of strong totoma. So it was that when the totoma slipped down the slope of the mountain, having neglected (for once) to properly seek its footing, no member of the tribe turned to help. Instead, they all took care to avoid the particular patch of unstable pebbles the totoma had failed to notice, and assumed that the totoma would seek out a life alone. The totoma spent that night in a cave, and felt very much alone. The next morning the totoma discovered that the cave was very near to the den of a bear, which quickly became enraged at the totoma’s proximity. So the totoma ran, heading in the direction of the tribe’s hoofprints (luckily, it had not snowed in the night, and the tribe was large enough that their hoofprints were recognizeable). The second night, the totoma pushed together some rocks and slept between them for shelter. In the morning the totoma foraged – the totoma had not eaten the previous day, and felt too weak to hunt. The totoma ate sturdy, filling roots and took nothing more when the totoma felt full – more food could be found. On the third night, the totoma dug a hole in the snow and burrowed for sleep. In the morning the totoma hunted, and at midday, the totoma found the place where the tribe had settled. The totoma spent the fourth night sharing the spoils of the hunt and relishing in the name that the totoma had, finally, earned.

Like her father, she sings. Unlike her father, she sings as a performer - she wants to love and be loved, and she doesn't care who knows it. A precocious little girl, she'll grow into vain pride for her own stunning, lilting voice. She considers it her most prominent feature, although she's certainly beautiful enough on her own.

Haunted by his naming dream, he hunts. He prefers to kill with a single blow, minimizing the suffering and minimizing the wounds from which blood will leak as he drags a carcass back to his tribe. At the moment, he's still apprenticed to his (half-brother - although neither of them know it) leader, Longclaw.

A risk-taker and a prankster, she seems not to have taken the message of her naming dream seriously at all. Danger just makes a situation more interesting to her. It's shocking that she hasn't yet managed to get herself killed...but hey! Someone had to try it, right?

She's studious and contemplative, and can often be found in meditation. When she speaks, she's curt and abrupt. Nevertheless, she has a strong moral compass and doesn't intend to hurt feelings - even if sometimes the things she says come off that way.

If Flash makes a mess, he has the responsibility to clean it up for her - or at least to make her excuses for her. He follows her footsteps like clockwork, and seems like the virtuous foil to his sister's rash and seemingly empty-headed violence. But an observant kin will notice that he never actually does anything in reparation for her...ah, accidents, and he actually just wants to know everything that she's done. In fact he's actually quite supportive of Flash's often vicious ways, and is generally there to ensure she doesn't do something unforgivable - like murder another kin. He seems to keep to himself, but is quite a skilled actor - if he takes pleasure in anything other than his sister's happiness, it's deception.

Athletic but poetic, Reflection is a dancer through and through. He enjoys getting to know different kin and learning about their journeys, but he can never stay in the same place for long. The truth is, he's very self-conscious and gets easily hung up on mistakes he thinks he's made that other kin are probably scrutinizing him for - and also very, very good at running away. He's found a bit of a reprieve in the Sunchasers, a tribe headed by his birth father - he relishes the relatively short amount of time he spends with his tribemembers almost as much as the chance to let his thoughts out.
