Another classic Squaresoft title, for the old PSX, one which debuted around the same time period as FF: Tactics. It featured a unique new concept, the ability to collect "Artifacts" items throughout your travels, these Artifacts could then transform themselves into fully-explorable areas to further along the storyline in its many (spanning the lengths of many playthroughs) diverse paths. It was also among the first RPG's to implement a free-range Combat System, rather than Turn-Based as was the norm, hosted a wide range of Quests, Side-Quests, characters, and some of the most memorable and amazing music ever produced.

I could rant endlessly about it, but I might not only take up a ton of pages' worth, but also accidentally drop spoilers when it's best to just find a copy of the game and play it like crazy yourself 3nodding
