We have some odd confusion in my house about what is called "Chinese" food.
I'm half Chinese and Mongolian, half mixed European so what ever I cook is, in sense, Chinese cooking. I do some traditional stuff, but also the traditional style of "throw a bunch of stuff together" and I do a lot of fusion stuff, Japanese and Italian foods- but it could all equally be called Irish cooking cat_xp
A lot of the stuff sold in American restaurants is very Americanized and not what you really get in a Chinese home
