D. I. Y. Beauty Mayo
I had a hell of a time deciding where this thread would be most appropriate. I decided since it's 100% edible I might as well add some yum-yum advice as well and put it in the foodie forum.
Mayonnaise is one of the best basic beauty products out there. Every single ingredient in it, except spices, are great for your skin and hair. The eggs especially do wonderful, wonderful things to your hair and the oils help keep dandruff at bay.
Making your own mayo is 100% better than buying mayo because not only will it lack preservatives and other nasties but it is also much healthier since this recipe uses the whole egg for body rather than just the yolks and you can use healthier oils, such as olive and grapeseed, than the plain veggy oil commercial brands use.

Beauty Mayo
2 whole eggs
2 tbs vinegar
2 cups oil
1/4 tsp salt
Dump the eggs, vinegar, and salt into your blender or food processor. At this point you can add in any dry spices you want such as black pepper or mustard powder. Turn on your blender/processor to a medium speed and very, very slowly add the oil by drizzling it. Continue until it becomes thick and creamy, if you are using a blender you may not need all the oil, I usually end up not using about 1/4 a cup of the oil. At this point you can stir in things like roasted garlic paste.
Pour into a seal-able container and store in the fridge for up to two weeks or as long as you dare.
Making mayo is much easier than you would expect and you can make it as plain or as fancy as you want for less than half the cost of store bought mayo. When I make my mayo, I use a mixture of veggy and extra virgin olive oils and add a few dashes of black pepper, yum!
