Fifty years ago, head Unitologist Sarah Bravis, born Sarah Elaine Amelius, founded the Sanctuary as a place for the Unitologists of the universe to escape to should there ever be a problem. She fought long and hard to create this reservation of sorts where the government could no longer interfere and persecute the followers of her religion. She lived on the reservation her entire life, and had many children there with her husband, most of which settled in other space colonies away from the Sanctuary once Charles E. Bravis, Jr. committed suicide. One of these children, a man by the name of Gordon Bravis, had a daughter, Maxima Elaine.

When Max was twelve, she was sent to a computer technology school, where she quickly became top of her class, and graduated with a high honors in RIG technology and computer science at nineteen. Eager to escape her family by rediscovering her roots, Max returned to the Sanctuary that her grandmother had founded, with the full intention of becoming a Unitologist, which she did. She worked her way to the top quickly, her prestige and intelligence working to her advantage, and became Assistant Head Engineer... a good job.

After the outbreak, she just wants to go back home alive.

Johnny unlike most Unitologist was actually born on Earth in a small town who hid it's beliefs quite well enough to avoid EarthGov overall. It was a simple farming town, cut off from city life and self sufficient as it was. It was a small venerable Haven for people who believed the word of Altman but did not want to break off from home. Johnny how ever was never into the religion of Unitology itself, it was mainly because his parents wanted him to be like that and so he was.

Everything was fine until the day the so called Sanctuary was built. It was at this point people started to get paranoid and decided it would have been best to pack up and leave. Others how ever believed that this mass migration would cause the Earthen settlement to fall and thus the division broke out. Riots occurred, people were hanged, lynched, and worse. Town went to hell in a hand basket quickly. In the cinders of about a months worth of strife most people were either dead, homeless, or just plain crazy. It was obvious that haven never lasts. The few remaining survivor, some group of about 20 people including Johnny decided that it was best to leave.

Upon arriving upon Sanctuary however just about half made it there and no more. Johnny was quickly taken in by a kind man who worked as a doctor and so that is where is trade his from. He at first was reluctant because he remembered that haven never lasts but what choice did he really have. Since then he works as a Doctor aboard the Sanctuary. Up until now everything has been fine till he started receiving corpses in which they were mauled to the point of no return.

Damien was born into a Anti Unitologist family on earth, they believed in the EarthGov. Damien was a smart boy excelled in engineering at an early age. He went to school for it, almost the top graduate of his class. He had made his parents proud, and Damien went into working with EarthGov as a engineer. Damien enjoyed what he did but he didn't like the oppression against Unitologists. He watched it for years then word of the sanctuary was passed around like wildfire. Damien had switched sides wanting to be on the side of Unitologists he decided to pack up and leave to the sanctuary as a Engineer.

He worked in all parts of the sanctuary broken pipes, elevators broken, they had it all. Soon after getting used to working there he had found multiple cases of vents and engineering shafts were broken out from the inside. He had no idea why, until it happened, Damien and a group of engineers were going to fix a gravity problem in one of the sectors and then suddenly they were attacked by Necromorphs his small group torn to bits, he made a run for it and managed to get to the resident sector, now he's alone.
