Ayane stood tall and proud as she was selected to participate within the tournament. Her eyes were scanning the horizon as she was looking for her oponent. Her hand was on the hilt of her katana ready to draw it and fight. Her mind was calm as her sensei had trained her. She was ready for this. She had a dozen plans thought up within her mind about how to go about this match. This would be interesting indeed.

Ryu arrived from the opposite direction to Ayane, standing a bit far from her, examining her stance. Taking a deep breath, he straighten his glasses and stood ready, his bugs crawling in anticipation within his clothes and skin. "You may perform the first move." Ryu watched Ayane carefully, waiting to see what she would do first and how to counter her.

Ayane smirked as she was allowed the first move. She didn't waste any time as she used hand signs and activated the jutsu Katon: Hidora no Jutsu. As she took in a deep breath she released it and three large trails of fire formed from her mouth. The trails of fire took the appearance of snakes and quickly lunged for the shinobi. It became apparent that she wasn't going to waste time with this shinobi.

Ryu raised his eyebrows as he watched Ayane use such a powerful jutsu from the start. However, he knew exactly what to do. As he quickly did one handed handsigns, his bugs started flying out from his free arm's sleeve, flying high above him like a black cloud. Once the handsigns was done, he performed the jutsu. "Kaze no Yoroi (Armor of Wind)" A whirlwind formed around Ryu, debris and anything around him being caught in it, creating a sort of armor. As the fire jutsu hit it, the whirlwind grew smaller. Ryu once again stood there, waiting for Ayane to perform the next move, his bugs still flying above him.

Ayane noticed that her fire jutsu did not pierce through the wind jutsu. Only made it weaker. Speculating she decided to go a safer route as she activated a clone jutsu. Katon: Neshou Bunshin. There were now three Ayane's and it wasn't certain which was a clone and which wasn't. She stood there with her clones thinking about their next action.

Straigtening his glasses, Ryu observed the three Ayanes, not able to tell the difference between the three. That mean he would have to take a risk and pick one to attack or find a way to attack all three. But an idea formed in his head. There was one other way. Dispelling his wind armor, he held a handsign in one hand in front of his face, then held the other upwards to perform the next jutsu. "Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)." The jutsu formed thick mists around the area, covering both of them from each other's view. Of course, Ryu could see perfectly through the mist, knowing Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu (Mist Vision Technique). He then commanded his bugs to become a copy of him, walking around the three Ayanes as silently as it could, while he moved away from where he had been and watched her.

Ayane quickly made four more clones and decided on something. The seven Ayanes made a circle like motion with one in the center. Six Ayanes ran out to seek out and destroy any targets while one Ayane remained in teh center watching the mist hoping to see anything through it.

Ryu was enjoying himself. This was as much a mental battle as it was a physical one. As Ayane's clones began to move, he quickly performed handsigns, ready to put into motion the next part to his plan. "Makyou Hyoushou (Demonic Ice Crystal Mirrors)" Chilling the moisture around the Ayanes before they could get too far, twenty one mirrors of ice formed around them, hoping to trap them within the dome. Heading for one of the mirrors, Ryu entered it, having his reflection shown on each mirror, though his face didn't show anything but a serious but curious look, wandering what Ayane would do now. He ordered his bug clone to become bugs again, ordering them to attack any of the Ayanes that tried escaping or was outside the dome. As Ryu speaked, his voice was heard from all the mirrors. "Your move."

Ayane chuckled softly as the odds were in her favor. In fact every Ayane was chuckling this point as they all unsheathed their katanas. They were speed incarnate. Each Ayane charged raiton into their katanas and began attacking the mirros hoping that they would break the mirrors one by one. It was still highly unknown which Ayane was the real one however. As the bugs began to attack the Ayane's one was dealt a death blow and blew up next to one side of the mirrors dealing massive fire damage to one side of the dome.

Ryu watched as his bugs managed to get one Ayane, though the ones that did burned from the fire explosion, though his mirrors were safe from the fire, able to resist fire almost completely. However, the Raiton attacks was a different story. He could see four of the mirrors broken while two were cracking and soon broken as well. Deciding to use another jutsu that would hopefully remove all the clones once and for all, he started doing more handsigns, ordering the bugs to stay out of the way. "Hisame [Hail]" The moisture above the clones chilled, about 20 spears of ice formed and then started falling down towards the Ayanes, aiming to impale each one. Once all of them fell, he had the bugs once more move to attack any remaining Ayanes, assuming it was possible.

As the Ayane's were taken out one by one by the spears only two were left. With the bugs closing in the Ayane's sheathed their katanas and the smile was still upon their faces. They were entirely calm about this. As they stood back to back the technique that they were about to use would be devastating. They quickly used their hand signs for this devastating jutsu. Katon:Shinhidora no jutsu. A large fiery hydra was summoned in front of both the Ayanes. They began to roar as their sheer size took up most of the dome. Each head fired a Karyuu Endan towards the side of the dome they were facing. Three Karyuu Endans hit the ice mirrors on both sides causing a devastating explosion to ensume.

Ryu eyes widened as he quickly made a hasty retreat out of the mirrors, watching the explosion destroy and melt the remaining mirrors. Ryu frowned as most of his bugs were also burned within the flaming explosion, leaving him with but a few he kept within his sleeve. He didn't want to risk losing them though as he needed them to reproduce more bugs to replenish the ones that were lost. Ryu also saw the mist moved away, the battlefield once again clear. Ryu decided to try and end this battle once and for all, performing some handsigns. "Freezing Wind" Inhaling the moisture in the air, he blew out a white cloud that would cover 100ft in front of him, the cloud containing bits of ice and water, latching on to anything within the cloud, slowing them down.

As the smoke cleared there was only one Ayane that could bee seen. It wasn't known what happened to the other but it didn't matter either. Ayane began using her hand signs and dashed forward. Even with the mist slowing her down she was still quick. As she casted the jutsu Moushou Kaseiken. Her body became engulfed with flames giving her a demonic appearance as she charged towards the shinobi. She launched her right fist foward in an attempt to hit the shinobi finishing the jutsu.

Ryu was glad he had thought of using Freezing Wind. It slowed Ayane down enough to concentrate chakra into his hand, making the chakra form into a ball of swirling chakra. Adding the final touch, he added water chakra into it, making the ball glow blue, the chakra now looking like a swirling ball of water. "Water Release: Tsunami Rasengan!" He thrusted the ball at Ayane's fist, hoping to at least catch her into the ball. This feat however, came with a downfall as he took the full force of the explosion that was coming from Ayane's jutsu the minute her fist reached his, sending him flying with half of his arm that he used to thrust the Tsunami Rasengan burned, landing hard onto the ground. He struggled to sat up, his burned arm now completely useless, and watched to see if his risky move was a success.
