The bar was full of people. Despite the prohibition laws the Germans had made no effort to stop their consumption, and subsequent sale of beer. They defended the sale as a national past-time. However, for the German Mob in Chicago, it also make a lucrative base of operations. The constant coming and going of people in various stages of drunkenness provided the perfect cover for the real agents working for Reinhard Eichmann to slip in and out undetected by any officials who happened to be trying to capture them.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier)  Heimbrecht had just come back from checking on the blockades on the Eastern Docks. The Germans now had control of half of the Eastern part of Chicago. From "Gold Coast" down to "Soldier's Field" and as far out as North LaSalle street. It was a fair chunk of the city, including a lot of it's waterfront warehouses and dock-yards. However the Germans had the capability to do it. No one really knew how, but the German Mob was highly organized, and very well armed. Sporting military weapons, most of the Germans were former German soldiers during the Great War. Now it looked like they were facing another one, one on the streets. No one knew how this would turn out, but the Germans were confident. Heimbrecht smiled at one of the female servers as she walked by carrying two steins of beer. He sat down on a bar stool next to Adolf König. He stayed silent for a moment or two before finally speaking, "Die Docks sind vollständig unter unserer Kontrolle, und unsere Frontlinie entlang LaSalle Street sind sicher." (The Docks are completely under our control, and our front line along LaSalle street are secure.) he ordered himself a beer and sat waiting for his next set or orders or Eichmann's return.

German Mob-Underboss  König was very pleased the way things were going. The Germans had full capacity of the center area of the coast on Chicago giving them access to the best and most centrally located docks as well as a wide spread out. At the bottom of the coast were the Italians and above them the Irish. The German territory was lined with men guarding the imports and exports from the ports as well as the lateral dock areas of the Irish and Italians. In the main land there were also guards if the Italians and Irish were to come attack them and push them out through the main land and out to the coast as well. The Germans had a plan to have each and every area of their borders controlled. They knew through their expansion that the Italians and especially the Irish would try to drive them out.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht's beer arrived in a large stein and he took a drink. The cool liquid running down his throat and quenching his parched throat. Heimbrecht was an old army buddy of Reinhard Eichmann's. He had been his adjutant during the final months of the Great War, and had followed the Eichmann's to the United States. Heimbrecht's thirst for war and death made him the perfect thug as Eichmann rose to prominence in the German mob. Now as Eichmann took charge of the German mob and brought them to prominence in Chicago, Heimbrecht's efforts had not gone un noticed as he was made a lieutenant and was one of Eichmann's most trusted eyes in the field. "Wo ist der Boss? Doch mit den Italienern?" (Where is the boss? Still with the Italians?) Heimbrecht asked, knowing that Eichmann had taken the dangerous mission on himself to visit the Italian Don to try and discuss an alliance.

German Mob-Underboss "Ja, ich glaube, er ist immer noch mit dem italienischen Chef. Ist alles in Ordnung?" (Yes, I think he is still with the Italian boss. Is everything alright?) König asked to make sure everything was going smoothly or if he had missed anything.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht nodded. He knew, as well as the rest of them, that a German alliance with the Italians would be huge for their control of the city, and would effectively neutralize the threat from the largest mob organization in the city. That would leave them free to attack whoever was next. Heimbrecht tipped back his beer again before speaking, "Ja, alles wird gut. Alle Bereiche sind sicher und ich haben kein Lebenszeichen von der Bundespolizei gehört.Gut, dass die Mutter macht die Bücher so gut, oder würden wir in echten Schwierigkeiten zu sein." (Yes, everything's going well. All areas are secure and I haven't heard a peep from the Feds. Good thing the Mother does the books so well or we'd be in real trouble.) Heimbrecht knew how much extra money was flowing into the beer Hall, and how much money the Germans were reporting on their taxes. While Heimbrecht wasn't the greatest mind in finance, he knew well enough that if the books weren't kept just so, that Federal investigators would come looking to see where all the extra money was coming from.

German Mob-Underboss "Das ist gut zu hören, aber ich werde über die Iren und die Italiener betroffen, die laterially uns von ihren Docks sowie von den zwei von ihnen unten kommend, uns von der Küste anzugreifen und uns heraus zu drücken befestigen. Wir haben aber, wenn sie uns heraus ich drücken, werden betroffen. Ich denke, dass wir unsere Kräfte erhöhen sollten." (That is good to hear but I am concerned about the Irish and the Italians attaching us laterially from their docks as well as the two of them coming down to attack us from the coast and push us out. We have a great area but it is also greatbut if they push us out I am concerned. I think we should increase our forces.) König waited for Heimbrecht's reply to his concern and if they should suggest it to the boss or keep doing what they are doing. König liked to be careful especially while branching out the way they are. He didn't want them to get ahead of themselves.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht listened to König's concerns and nodded lightly, "Wenn diese Transaktion zustandekommen, dann die Italiener kein Problem mehr sein. Die irische auf der anderen Seite ..." (If this deal goes through, then the Italians won't be a problem anymore. The Irish on the other hand...) Heimbrecht only paused to take a swig of his beer, "Die irische Bastarde sind stur. Sie werden nicht so schnell aufgeben überhaupt. Wahrscheinlich müssen wir auf jeden einzelnen von ihnen zu töten." (The Irish are stubborn bastards. They won't give up easily at all. We'll probably have to kill every last one of them.) Heimbrecht remembered the Irish units he'd fought during the Great War. They had served in the British Army then, but they were fierce fighters. Then there were the American Irish, the units recruited from areas like Boston and New York. They brought a whole different kind of ferocity to war. Heimbrecht knew that if the Germans had to go up against the Irish it would be a blood bath.

German Mob-Underboss "Sind Sie, sagend, das wir mehr Verstärkung erhalten sollten oder sollten wir warten. Ich denke, wir dieses bis zum Chef holen sollten, wenn Sie denken, dass die Iren wirklich auf diese Weise sind" (Are you saying we should get more reinforcement or should we wait. I think we should bring this up to the boss if you think the Irish are truly this way). He said being more concerned about the situation.

Persönlich würde ich sagen, jetzt verstärken, aber er hat immer gewusst, wie man für diese Dinge vorzubereiten." (Yes. The boss will know about the position of the Italians and we can figure out what to do about the Irish. Personally I would say reinforce now, but he's always known how to prepare for these things.) Heimbrecht tipped his beer back taking a large drink of it as a few men gathered around the out of tune piano and started drunkenly singing some songs from the front. These were the songs that the Imperial Army would sing at night in their trenches to keep their spirits high.

German Mob-Underboss "Ich treffe nie Entscheidungen ohne die Zustimmung der Chefs zuerst. Warum nicht tun Sie, warten wir, bis er aus seinem Büro heraus ist. Ich denke nicht, dass er anderer Meinung ist, aber wir „nicht auf anyones treten wünschen“ (I never make decisions without the boss' approval first. Why don't we wait until he is out of his office. I don't think he will disagree but we don't want to 'step on anyones' toes.)

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht simply nodded drinking another swig of his beer as a blonde woman walked down the stairs and behind the bar. She had a note pad in her hand and looked very authoritative, "Nun, warum gehen wir nicht einfach fragen, Mutter, was sie denkt." (Well, why don't we just ask mother what she thinks.) He smiled and looked up at her, "Mutter! Glauben Sie, dass die Italiener zu The Boss 'Anordnung einverstanden?" (Mother! Do you think the Italians will agree to the Boss' arrangement?)

I will do what I can while he is gone. It may be something I can assit you with.) The mob mother asked to see if it was something she could do since she outranked them but she also made it clear she was no match for her husband.

German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht smiled as he pulled out a cigarette and lit it, "Herr König und ich haben gerade darüber debattieren, ob die Italiener des Chefs Deal akzeptieren oder nicht." (Mr. König and I were just debating whether the Italians would accept the boss' deal or not.) He smiled, "Und wenn sie es tun, dass die irische würde unsere nächste große Problem sein. Ich bin sicher, der Chef hat erwähnt, wie viel Mühe die irische waren während des Ersten Weltkriegs." (And if they do that the Irish would be our next major problem. I'm sure the boss has mentioned how much trouble the Irish were during the Great War.) Everyone admired Mrs. Eichmann. Not only was she stunning, but she commanded the respect of everyone in the mob. Though this was only the 20s, she held more power than most women in her age. Everyone knew that she would be the next leader of the German mob if something were to happen to her husband.

German Mob-Secret Underboss Ja denke ich, wenn Sie glauben, dass sie eine Drohung oder ein Problem sind, die wir tun sollten, was überhaupt nesssiary ist. Können Sie machen einen Vorschlag hinsichtlich, was die Situation verbessern würde? (Yes, I think if you feel they are a threat or a problem we should do what ever is nesssiary. Can you make a suggestion as to what would improve the situation?) She said trying to gather information and get an idea of what they were thinking or planning. She knew what was best and it seemed like a good idea but she wanted to know what they were suggesting first before giving the final approval.
