❖ Personality// Nana is sweet, spirited and energetic, which sometimes clashes with the more stoic people. Child-like and playful in many ways, Nana does her best to maintain a positive outlook on life, and is always jumping at the chance for some fun. She often refers to gloomy or annoying people as "big meanies" (with the exception of Lady Onyx). Her cheerful outlook often makes a stark contrast, however, when she is sad or upset. Despite her outwardly happy exterior, she seems to carry some insecurities, particularly when it comes to her own future and the safety of her fellow Roses.
As for her jealous tendencies, Nana has grown used to being in the "center spotlight" of sorts, being the youngest as well as being in a pop group herself. She tends to get jealous when outsiders take her out of the "center spotlight" among the Roses, especially Lieselotte. Nana is capable of becoming very cold and cruel (some speculate that it was from the influence of Lady Onyx), ranging from simply giving the cold shoulder, tripping them, or "accidentally" making them fall into the swimming pool with their clothes on. She has difficulties being sarcastic and witty, but anyone can tell if they're on her dislike list by the icy tone in her voice.

❖ Biography // Nana was born into a normal family in Japan, she had a hardworking business father and a housewife for a mother. Growing up, Nana was a bubbly girl, sure, she was an only child, but she was still happy nonetheless. She kept out of trouble, got straight As and B pluses in school, and struck up lifelong friendships with her cousins (the other Roses). Things started to change a bit when Lieselotte, the Lady Onyx, stepped into her life. Her parents had adopted the older girl out of pity. Nana wasn't sure what to do with Lieselotte, having never had any sort of siblings before, but it was really only a matter of time before the two became close friends - despite Lieselotte's anti-social tendencies. In fact, Nana's debut as a music idol was all thanks to Lieselotte.
The girls had went out shopping and was spotted by a talent agent. They had originally wanted Lieselotte, but upon seeing Nanali's eagerness to enter instead, Lieselotte tricked the company. She said that she would consider being a part if Nana would also join. Suffice to say, Nana was admitted immediately, and the talent agency soon expected Lieselotte to follow shortly after - especially after they landed Nanali into an all girl pop group. But Lieselotte refused, and once again reminded the agency that she had said she would consider. Of course, by that time it was too late to pull Nana out of the group - because the young girl soon struck fame and a large amount of fans. In other words, Nanali owes it completely to Liselotte for her fame, and she knows it.
However, Nana got it into her head that she should "repay" Lieselotte - and now plans to turn her adopted older sister into a social butterfly. After all, Lieselotte was the one who got her famous now!
As of now, Nana's family has moved to New York City because of her father's work. But because of Nana's new career, she had to stay back in Japan. Fortunately for Nana though, she managed to squeeze in a visit. Nana is completely oblivious to the whole Rose Princess story.

❖ Personality// Lieselotte is quite anti-social, preferring to sit alone with a book in hand rather than chat it up with the people around her. However, if by some miracle you do manage to peak her interest, you'll find her to be a very calm yet sarcastic woman, with a wit to match. Fortunately, her anti-social tendencies are lessened towards the Roses, as she is willing to partake in their conversations (though her replies are short and she tends to listen more than she does speak). Her personality also seems to warm around them, especially towards her adopted younger sister, Nana. Unfortunately, Lotte has an extremely bad stubborn streak, which is only made worse by her unwavering will and pride.
Lieselotte is also known to be quite greedy with money, charging interest to those who take loans from her. Her greed extends to the fact that she does not do favors for "free," and even has a record of those who are indebted to her - nicknamed the "Black Book." Lieselotte WILL, at some point, make you pay for whatever favor you had her to for you.
(An exception to this would be Nanali, whose constant attempts to turn Lotte into a social butterfly make her think twice about being repaid.)
Despite her calm demeanor, Lieselotte can and WILL get angry if you push her enough. A quick way to feel her wrath is to mess with Nana - depending on the circumstances, you may want to stay away from dark alleys for a while...or ANY type of dimly lit place...

❖ Biography // Lieselotte has no idea as to who her true parents are, which suits her just fine.The only thing she has about her past is her name and nationality, which was written on a slip of paper clutched in her hand when she was dropped off at the orphanage as a baby. However, she fled the place at the age of nine, hating the oppressive nature of the wardens and the crowding of the kids around. She learned to live on the streets for four years, picking up some decent fighting skills, before being picked up again by a patrolling police officer, who promptly dropped her off at another orphanage.
It was there that the Chou family adopted her, feeling pity for the thirteen-year old that seemed to hate the world around her. Of course, this didn't help Lieselotte's feelings toward being adopted - her suspicion of these well-meaning people only intensified at their pitying looks. However, Nanali, being nine at the time, helped change those emotions. Nanali was the first person who seemed to genuinely want to try and get close to Lieselotte, despite the former's awkwardness about siblings and the latter's distrust of things around her. Currently, Nana is the only person who she will let see and treat her scars. (Which still pain Lieselotte as she refused treatment during her time at the orphanage, not trusting anyone to help her with them.) The Chou family helped put her through highschool and college, where she majored in Business and has a minor in Music.
However, she does believe that she owes a debt to the Chou family for adopting her, and especially to Nana. As such, she felt no qualms about conning the talent agent who was desperate to lure her into the talent industry, especially when Nana wanted it so much more than her. (Of course, this doesn't stop the onslaught of offers she still finds in her mail box sometimes...)
Unfortunately, she is still a skeptic, hardened from her days on the streets, and as such she has a hard time even entertaining the fact that the tale of the Roses might be real.

She is a hopeless romantic, these flings she has being nothing more than her looking for the right guy. She believes in true love, despite the fact of her own parents divorce, though she has grown tired of only finding the wrong guys.
As she was always brought up by her mother to be an honest person, she knows nothing but honesty. A bit of a tease, she sometimes takes advantage of someones weak points and annoy them for it, though she only means to humor them. Manami is very confident, liking to work on her features and fashion to the best of her ability, always thinking herself to be a very beautiful person, though not thinking such to the point of conceitedness.
Manami enjoys having a good time, whether it's going out to a party or hanging out at an amusement park. her utter ability to stay calm in any given situation is rather admirable, as she has been in some tough spots in the past. Being the oldest of her group, she sees herself as their role model and always keeps them in mind when considering important decisions. She is a very responsible person, taking care of problems as soon as they arrive.
One of Manami's weak points is that she has a sensitive attitude despite being the oldest. Her feelings are hurt rather easily and she expresses her emotions openly, though will regret it later.

❖ Biography // Manami was born the youngest child of her siblings, Moon Shii and Mamoru. Her father is the head of a leading sweets company and her mother is the head of a famous fashion industry. Her and her siblings were brought up well with only the most expensive and beautiful things in life. As the youngest, Manami had always lived in the shadow of her elder siblings. Her brother was an artist and a skilled one at that, while her sister was a pianist who played very beautifully. Because of this, Manami had always strived to find something that she was talented of, something that would make her parents proud of her.
As her sister's career as a pianist rose, Manami decided that she didn't have time to waste. This drove her to hire a number of teachers over the the past few years. First it was an art teacher that was well known for making beautiful paintings. Everything had seemed to be going well during their first session, until Manami had trouble opening a metal tin of paint and it ended up splashing all over the teacher. Her paintings were also undoubtedly horrible, looking like paintings that of a two year old might have drawn. The next day he tried to teach her how to sculpt, but the sculpture looked like a disfigured blob. Manami had also managed to make the kiln explode for unknown reasons. Her sister had later taunted her that day, after the art teacher had angrily quit, that Manami's best talent was making things "explode".
After the art teacher, Manami went on to find a music teacher but her bad singing and dancing eventually led to his quitting. It didn't help that she had accidentally tripping over his radio and made it short out. Then there was the tutor, hired in order to find out if Manami would be a potential genius. Well we can all guess how that turned out. Manami ended up failing every quiz he ever gave her, despite teaching her so well. That day ended with Moon Shii calling her an idiot and a disappointingly early trip to bed. After that, she was in no mood to find a teacher any more, nor was she interested in finding a talent at all. She was the disappointment of the family and she accepted the cold fact.
When Moon Shii's piano playing came to a sudden stop, Manami was put behind closed doors. Her own sister refused to speak to her and her brother. She wondered, what had made her sister hurts so badly. She found the answer to come quicker then she would have hoped. Her parents began fighting, going as far as to block even their own children out worst then before. They divorced and Manami and the other two were sent to live with their mother, who had won the custody case.
Things began to get even worse after that. Manami, finding no outlet other than eating fatty foods, began to literally eat her feelings away. With her feelings of unimportant from her parents and their sudden divorce, her feelings had begun to overflow. It got to the point as to where Manami had begun to become overweight. Kids at school teased her and bullied her, calling her unmentionable names. It got to the point where Manami reached her breaking point and started homeschool. She began to exercise and diet in order to lose all of the weight that she had put on. Once she lost all of her excess weight, she gained a beautiful figure and curves in the process. Manami is determined no matter what to keep her wonderful body, not wanting to return to the "ugly" person she was before. Taking advantage of this beauty, Manami became a very popular girl and began to have fun whenever she could. She moved to New York about two years ago to be closer to her cousins and depends on her parent's money as she has yet to find a job suitable for her. Her relationships have become a bit complicated though, as she always seems to find faults with all of her boyfriends. She has recently broke up with her boyfriend, discovering him to be a playboy and flirt.

❖ Biography // Kaji was born to two brothers, and he was the middle child. His elder brother was Noel (a ladies man whose mere presence always irked Kaji), and his younger baby brother was Noctis (a bookish young man who was very intelligent, but was a tad socially awkward). Growing up, Kaji and Noel were always bickering and arguing about anything and everything. As they grew older, weekly physical fights between the two were a common thing to see. At first their parents tried their best to stop the feuding brothers, but after a while, they gave up - and only hoped that the two would grow out of their violent ways. Things didn't get any better when Kaji eventually had his first girlfriend, Lucille, Noel and Kaji only argued and fought even more because of the former continued to hit on her to purposely irk the latter.
Circumstances continued to spiral down as Kaji and Noel eventually joined rival gangs. Noctis and Lucille started to step in as the violence took a turn for the worse. The fact that the brothers' parents died in an arson case, where police heavily suspected Kaji's gang. Eventually, the gang that Noel was in started having a civil war among themselves, because their gang leader had also died in the same arson case. Noel had a hard time keeping his position, because his leaders and subordinates were starting to jumble up in a mess over who would be given the official authority.
In the mess of things, one of Noel's subordinates, who wanted to get back at the man for a very insignificant strife, kidnapped Lucille, thinking that she was Noel's girlfriend. Once Kaji and Noctis got wind of the news, the two immediately went down to attempt a rescue. Noel also showed, since he never wanted to get an innocent involved in gang affairs. Despite Kaji's gang members backing him up, the kidnapper shot and killed Lucille, and the group quickly earned the fury and wrath of Kaji and Noctis (who had thought of Lucille as a dear friend and introduced her to Kaji in the first place). In the chaos, Noel was killed, having been attacked by rival gang members as well as vengeful ex-subordinates. Unfortunately, Noctis was also died shortly afterwards from his multiple injuries. Kaji managed to stagger out with the rest of his gang members, but his entire family had died in less then a month.
Finally deciding to lay low, Kaji quit the gang (although he's still in contact with the members, who are always constantly trying to get him back in), and got back with his old friends - the rest of the Knights. Kaji even managed to find another girlfriend; Anya, although she's by no stretch of the imagination anything like Lucille, Kaji was drawn to her. Although Anya soon disappeared as well, leaving behind a note saying that she had found a lead about her missing brother and was going to see where it took her. Kaji was left alone again, but he doesn't mind waiting for her return - after all; he would have done the same thing if Noctis was the one missing. Not that it would matter because his brothers were dead anyhow....
❖ Fears // Kaji won't ever admit it, but he has pnigerophobia (fear of choking). He also is paranoid of people depending on him for whatever reason and is constantly fearing that he'll let them down. Both came from the episode where he got the scar on his neck from the rescue attempt.

Is always something in mind for her whenever someone is down and she isn't to talkative. Soft spoken, but somehow respected by a lot of her peers she shows her kindness through small gestures and few sentences to give her support. However, she often keeps her own problems to herself, and prefers to take her feelings out in different ways compared to normal actions such as talking. Emma proves that her take on tremendous stress as well, and is hardly pushed to the brink of breaking. Nevertheless when she meets it, she breaks down very easily and when she starts crying she finds herself so embarrassed that she tends to hide until she stops crying.

❖ Biography // Emma has always been given things in abundance ever since she was a child. She was hardly spoiled and was always well behaved. Making a lot of her classmates envious of her as a small child. Treasured by her mother and father she considered forgetting about friends and only taking comfort in her mother. Her mother accepted her daughter's closed off personality with open arms and engaged her daughter into individual activities until she managed to come out of that shell of hers. So, Emma's mother started a small garden with her daughter. Just giving the child some flowers to plants and every season change she would give her daughter small presents such as seeds of a new plant or vegetable. Soon, Emma's garden took up nearly the whole backyard. A true green thumb, Emma made her own name by entering cute country fairs with her prize plats and veggies. Earning herself a sweet farmer girl outlook. And respect on a certain level where no one bullied her. She achieved what her mother desired, however, the woman was still having trouble with her daughter's lack of social interaction.
Though her daughter had respect she still felt nervous about her daughter's growing age without any true friends. This was when she introduced her daughter to the other Rose Princesses, though they were related, her family tended to stay a little distant compared to the other relatives. At first Emma was as distant as always, but managed to befriend her cousins.

❖ Personality// Yuu is your average awkward male, though he doesn't realize it. Though very much a gentleman and never one for violence, he spent so much time in recluse that he doesn't really know how to act 'modern' like everyone else. He's usually very quiet and would rather keep to himself most of the time, but the only people he'd ever willingly speak to or stick around are the other knights. He's very formal, as he grew up in a proud family with noble roots, but he's not snobby about it. Despite his pride, he's very loyal, and if someone helps him, he'll make sure he'll pay back that debt sooner or later. Though he doesn't speak much, when he does, others know when to listen because Yuu doesn't play around with words. And though he's not naive, Yuu is very clueless when it comes to relationships and handling girls.
Yuu is a big fan of shooting, most likely due to the blood of his war-hardened ancestors, and he's a crack-shot with a gun; any gun, as long as he's held it at least once in his life. He also likes autumn and loves to paint the scenery during that season.

His grandfather was his father's father, a full-blooded Russian, who loved to tell Yuuji that he was a descendant of nobility, but he threw it all away to be with his wife; a strong leader, who always spoke what he thought and loved to laugh. His grandmother was a gentler, though sickly, woman, balancing out her husband's brashness with her quiet words of wisdom and the steady hand that made the best green tea in the world. The two raised him up on their own, in the outskirts of Japanese society, homeschooling him until he was fifteen. But then his grandfather, surprisingly, died away peacefully in his sleep. His grandmother, not wanting Yuuji to have to worry about her, sent him away to Tokyo to live with his aunt, and get proper education. A year later, she died away as well, leaving him feeling alone in the world. As he never had to meet other people before, he was a very awkward person in society.
Of course, this was before he met Kasuka, his cousin. Kasuka had been living in Italy for a while with his father, the husband of Yuuji's aunt, and came back after the course of a year after Yuuji came to live with them. The two immediately got along; Kasuka didn't even have to mind that he had to teach his older cousin how to mingle in with people. It would be later on in their lives that they met the other Knights (with the exception of the Yellow Knight, who had been Kasuka's best friend for a very long time). Since then, Yuuji's gotten better at talking to people, though he can't quite get rid of his 'nobility lingo', as Kasuka likes to call it. Sometime during the time he was living with Kasuka, he was found by a modelling agency, who immediately took him in. He was a natural, though most of the time he's a little naive when the girls there try to flirt with him.
What Yuuji doesn't realize is that he is the Black Knight; the real Black Knight from the stories. The stories about his parents were lies; he had been found by the elderly couple, wandering around with a pitifully lost expression, with no memory of his past, not understanding why he had suddenly appeared in a field of rice in the middle of Japan. Sometimes he will get flashes of his real past, with the original princesses and the Thorn Knights, but he doesn't truly understand them. The reason he is 'alive' is because the demons had stolen the shards of his seal. The seal had been created when he had killed himself, and he became a part of that seal. Technically, the demons stole parts of him, and he was brought back to life by an unknown force to take back those parts of himself to reinforce the seal. Embedded in his subconscious is the single goal to reseal the demon king so that no one else will have to get hurt; but it's going to be difficult when he can't even remember that.

Whenever he acts angry, it's just because he's shy; it's easy to tell when he's really being angry or just unsure how to act. ❖ Biography // Kasuka was born to an Italian father and Japanese mother (though how they met, not even he is sure). Throughout most of his childhood, Kasuka was raised in the bustling, busy city of Tokyo. He was a very social child, with the fabled Italian charm; he was like a human magnet that drew in all sorts of people. It was through this ability that he was able to meet the Yellow Knight and befriend him. The two became like twins, very nearly attached at the hip. They did everything together: pranks, playing, dates (though Kasu went on many more than his friend), etc. That was, until Kasuka's family fell apart. Though outwardly cheerful, Kasuka's heart was breaking because his family was crumbling. His parents argued day and night, and if they weren't they ignored each other like they were strangers. It became so bad until Kasu's father took him and left for Italy without a word. Kasu was barely able to tell the Yellow Knight, with a rushed promise that he would be back, and he was gone.
He spent the next phase of his childhood years, until middle school, in Venice. It was during this time that he fully learned how to harness his abilities to charm and attract people. It came naturally to him (an ability of the former White Knight, but he doesn't know that), but because of the stress of his family's separation, his life took a turn for the worse because of his charm. He got mingled in with the wrong sort of people, took up smoking, starting having flings with different people without a real care (though not drugs, never drugs). He really tried to stop, he really did, but it was too difficult, even for him.
His savior came in the shape of a return ticket to Japan, where his mother had finally divorced his father and won custody of him. He quickly went back, only to find that his mother had also taken someone else in; his 'cousin' Yuuji. The two immediately got along; Kasuka didn't even have to mind that he had to teach his older cousin how to mingle in with people. It would be later on in their lives that they met the other Knights (with the exception of the Yellow Knight, who had been Kasuka's best friend for a very long time). It was after he came back that he found out that his friend had joined a pop group, and was invited in as well. Raised as a very imaginative child (though having never heard the story of the roses), Kayo was often described as a...problematic child throughought her public school education; bright and intelligent to be sure, but when you attempt to slay your "dragon of a teacher" in the middle of an algebra lesson, things tend to get a little out of hand. Thankfully Kayo's parents did nothing to discourage her imagination; instead, to further cultivate her creative mind at the age of tweleve she was taken out of public school and taught at home instead, inside the family's comfortable New York apartment just off of the Broadway District. After recieving proper knowledge, or at least enough to pass through the next few years of her life, Kayo was given the oppurtunity to follow her father out of the country, to her original place of descendance in Japan, and the teen fell in love with not just the idea of travelling, but the concept of doing so for a living, spending as much time with her always busy father as possible. From that point on, following her father to remote locations became second nature to Kayo, and in her new position as assistant photographer by the time she'd turned eighteen the teen had been to more places then most people could ever afford to visit; of course, she still comes back to New York every once and a while so her father can write up papers and articles, but it's very rare that she manages to get together with the rest of her family. Despite this, Kayo would do anything for those she cares about, and if she's needed, rest assured that no matter what part of the world she's in, she'll come running.

❖ Personality// Well, it would be relatively easy to sum Ru's personality up into one word- hyper. However, despite how strong this trait is, it isn't the entire story. Yes, she was told by a doctor to stay away from sweets. Yes, she did once run up thirteen flights of stairs just because she had the energy to do so. Ru is clearly a very hyper, very energetic young woman. She is constantly moving, even when sitting down, whether it's tapping a foot or drumming her fingers. Even her mind is always running, always thinking of something, and it isn't uncommon for her to drift off into her own world, completely unaware of what's happening around her. Ru has missed out on entire conversations because she was thinking about something else, once even because she was thinking of the practical use of giving everyone in the world a pegasus.
Ru has an emense curiousity, which has gotten her into trouble more than once. She'll always asking questions, always wondering 'why'. And if she can't get the answer, she'll figure it out on her own. Ru likes to know how things work, and has a nasty habit of taking things apart (she always puts them back together, though!). Especially's Nana's cell phone. She's taken that thing apart so many times, now she just does it when she's bored. Or to stick things in it. Like pennies. She's actually very knowledgable because of her constant questioning, since Ru has a pretty good memory. People find it hard to believe, but if you can get her to focus on something for more than a few seconds, one will actually find a very smart, practical young woman underneath all that energy and hype.
However, Ru is also a very distracted being, and despite being quite intelligent, she has a lot of trouble focusing. She often times runs into walls, trips over things, among other odd, and more often than not, amusing actions. But don't tease her about it! Ru hates being looked at like an idiot, and can become very defensive very fast. She's a bit fiesty when on edge, so it's best not to provoke her. Don't let the happy-go-luckiness fool you! Ru has some bite to her! She's even been known to snap at her friends, though she always feels guilty afterwards.

Ru is an only child, and thus was very close to her parents. Her father especially. She had always been a daddy's girl. As soon as she could walk, Ru had a wrench in hand, and was taking apart whatever she could get her hands on. In school she would often get in trouble for her inability to focus. Her mother firmly believes it was nothing short of a miracle that she graduated! Between the inattention and the fights she sometimes would get into... Ru did always have a hard time with teasing. But those bullies always learned their lesson! For the past few years she's been working with her father at the mechanics shop. He had always been told that their mother died giving birth to Cinn, and that's what he's been believing since childhood. He was find with the three of them living together, until his father fell in love with another woman, Colette's mother, and they got married and had Colette. The woman and her daughter moved to Thyme's home in America; and Thyme begrudgingly accepted Colette as family. Of course, since she had their father's blood in her, he had to act the caring older brother, and Cinn had to be the loving older sister. In time, he'd warm up to Colette, but honestly he doesn't really care that she's so naive and pure. He cares for her, yes, but he wouldn't have minded if she went out and partied for a week straight.
He wasn't able to go to the same school Colette did, and neither could Cinn, so he didn't find out about the bullying until much later, when she had already befriended Nana and Liseolette. Though Thyme wasn't directly related to them like Colette was, if his half-sister was happy with them then he wouldn't mind. When he was nineteen, he met Manami, and out of sheer recklessness decided to be her boyfriend. It was alright for a while; until his father started taking him along in his 'business trips'. It was then Thyme discovered his and his sister's true heritage. After that, Thyme started living a little recklessly; he started chain-smoking, went out partying late, and went around flirting with every pretty girl out there. Of course, he was never serious with anyone, not like how he was with Manami. High school wasn't all that bad for him either; his grades were average (Cinn had always been the smarter one anyways) and he was the basketball star because of his height.
He had been twenty one when the incident with Colette's mother happened. His father suddenly started going on more 'business trips,' which, unbeknownst to anyone but Thyme were actually trips to the demon king's seal, leaving Thyme to keep the pieces of their once alright family together. Everything sort of went downhill from there. Colette drifted away from the family, Cinn started obsessing about Yuuji (a pretty boy who hangs around Nanali's work-mate), and Manami broke up with him because she found out about his flirting tendencies. Thyme quit basketball because his father started bringing him and his sister to the seal more often, and his chain-smoking got worse. He doesn't want Colette to find out about their demonic heritage just yet, and his father doesn't want her to know either, for some reason...

Nevertheless, her loyalty to her father has shaped her into a manipulative and selfish woman, uncaring of others' pain as long as she can get what her father desires. The praises that she receives whenever she has accomplished a task for her father has also led Cinn to believe that she is able to get away with anything because her father "approves" it. (As you can now see, Cinn thinks her father is akin to a god, though she realizes that the Demon King is still higher up)
Demon lineage and sultry, sociopath-ic, psychotic-ness aside, Cinn is a happy, if not playful, girl. She loves to gossip and shop, and is especially fond of flirting (and perhaps breaking hearts). Because of her knowledge though, she purposely toys with (aka ticking off) the Roses, perhaps harboring a small hatred towards their reincarnated spirits for separating her father from the one thing he wants the most. ❖ Personality// For the most part, Shizheng is a rather crazy extroverted guy who loves, and I mean loves, pulling pranks on others. He practically lives on the attention other people give him, and is nearly always surrounded by a group of friends. He can't seem to stop talking, either- most people appreciate his outgoing personality and laughter, though they also have to admit that his pranks are sometimes rather irritating. Shizheng doesn't quite know when to stop with things, and often goes overboard with his pranks. Shizheng can be a bit inconsiderate as well, and is also childishly selfish to boot. People tend to misunderstand him and just think that he's a big old brawny joker who cares only for the laughs for himself and doesn't care much for others, though that is hardly the case. Shizheng just can't "read" others' feelings as well. However, Shizheng gets along with his friends well, and that's all that matters to him. Shizheng is a bit biased in certain areas and has quite a few stereotypes. ❖ Biography // Shizheng's parents had always had high expectations of him. He is the youngest out of four, and his parents expected no less out of him than from his brothers. If anything, they expected quite a bit more. Shizheng's parents made his brothers' accomplishments quite clear to him, even early in his childhood. And the legacy of his brothers was a lot to live up to. His oldest brother works at a reporter for a famous news magazine, his second brother has always been a math whiz, and is now working as a rocket scientist for the Chinese government, and his youngest brother, though not as intelligent as his older brothers, is a very good athlete, and plays on a professional basketball team. Shizheng's parents even made his name a sort of reminder for him to do well- Li Shizheng was a famous ancient Chinese doctor who classified the uses of all known herbs and their medical uses during his time. Shizheng's parents were quite wealthy, as his father was an ambassador in Japan, where they lived. Although they were wealthy and Shizheng had access to a better-than-average education, he wasn't happy. His parents wouldn't stop pressing him to do well. At first, it was a bit of an adventure- fun, though pressurizing at times. As Shizheng grew older, however, he began to question the way his parents ran his life. It was, after all, his life, and he didn't understand why his parents had to have such a hand in it. He took all sorts of classes during his childhood- everything from mathematics to music.
Although Shizheng had been relatively good at his studies before, things snapped once he got to his teenage years. His parents didn't see much of a difference between him and his brothers, and started increasing the pressure on him. It didn't help that they hardly approved of the friends Shizheng made- especially Kasuka. Even after Kasuka left suddenly, they never stopped talking badly about him in front of their son. Shizheng has never had patience, and with those extra hormones floating around his bloodstream, things were bound to go one day or another. Shizheng soon got into a number of fights with his parents, and eventually ran away from home with a few friends when he was sixteen. He has relied on his musical talents ever since, and it has only been recently that he has been able to not starve on the streets. By chance, an talent agency heard him playing his guitar outside in a park, and so Shizheng was recruited into the pop group. When Shizheng received word that his old friend Kasuka was back, he immediately started convincing him to join the group as well. Since the, Kasuka has started getting rather attached to another girl in the same talent agency- and Shizheng hasn't quite stopped with the various jokes he's been making about the whole deal.
❖ Fears // Autophobia, or the fear of being abandoned or left alone by others, and he is also quite afraid of taking any sort of transportation device other than a bike or motorcycle, as he gets motion sickness very easily.

Shizheng speaks fluent Japanese and Chinese, and he also knows a bit of Russian and English. He also learned how to curse in a few languages from his old travelling friends. Currently, he's learning quite a bit of German from Lotte- that is, whenever she cusses at him, he pulls out his pocket German dictionary and looks up the definition on the spot.

❖ Personality// Ian is the definition of a nice guy. He's polite and kind, and is always up for some friendly conversation. He's always got time for a friend in need, willing to lend an ear or advice. Amongst the Knights, he's probably the most 'normal' of them all. Ian is a chipper sort of fellow, and tries not to let the little things get him down. It's very unlikely that Ian will ever lose his temper about something. He generally passes the 'mad' phase and goes straight to disappointment. He's an expert at making people feel guilty. Thanks to his parents' high expectations of him, Ian is also quite the brainiac- his parents wanted him to be lawyer, and thus instilled very stuidous habits into him at a young age.
However, despite the fact that he inspires openess and trust in others, Ian is a very guarded, closed off person. Even his closest friends don't really know that much about him, save for the Orange Knight. He keeps most of his personal opinions to himself, always taking the neutral route publicly. He's never really gotten close to people before- the Orange Knight is the first person to have completely made it passed his walls.

❖ Biography // Ian is the only son of a prominent New York family. Born to wealth and power, much was expected from him at an early age. He was always homeschooled, always provided with the best of the best. He was exceptionally smart, and his parents always expected him to be the best at whatever they set out for him to do. And he did so love to please his parents. Whenever he did, it seemed liked they were actually more parents than the simple adult who told him what to do, as they always seemed.
As he aged, his studies increased. Because he was homeschooled, Ian had little social life. His family's status set him apart from other children his age, and even friends of the family that had children his age barely caught a glimpse of him. "He's studying." That's what his parents always said. And it was always the absolute truth. However, one day, Ian could no longer take it. He would hear the household servants talking about things of which he had only read about. He would sneak glances at the TV with programs running, in which the actors were doing things he's only imagined. To be able to leave, to go where he pleased, do as he wished! When his parents set out another task for him to do, he flat out refused. This behavior shocked them. A fight ensued. The next day, Ian up and left, taking only what he'd packed the night before.
He had enough money to rent a hotel room for a week, but it was lucky of him to have met the Orange Knight. The two had an instant liking to each other. The Orange KNight allowed him to stay with him, which Ian has forever been grateful for. He soon found that he loved the water, the ocean, which he'd lived so close to, yet had never seen. He became a lifegaurd, and soon made friends with the other Knights. However, he hasn't spoken to his parents since. He's kept up with their business, however, collecting newpapers in which they are mentioned. Nothing he's collected mentions his running away.
❖ Fears // It's a bit a of a given, granted his aquatic nature, but Ian is quite afraid of fire. Or at least, being burned. He also has a fear of rejection from others, of disappointing them, like he has his parents.
