Shooting into the sun is never a good idea. It will damage your camera's sensor. I do like how the sun reflected off of the rocks though and I see potential for that location. When you are shooting things like that take photos at many different angles and focal lengths. It looks like you are doing pretty well with a low quality camera. I think that the last (though the subject is cute) is your weakest image. When shooting animals and children it is better to get down at their level. Your second image is slightly out of focus which may be due to camera shake since it is a night photo. If you had your camera on auto it would have chosen a slow shutter speed and the slightest movement made your image blurry. I like the low angle though. Keep practicing!
All good angles except for the one in the sun.I see what you where going for though.

Paper Lions
Although shooting directly at the sun does damage your camera lens, it is totally worth it sometimes. I think it's a great picture. The second picture, the colors just seemed off, maybe that was the point but it seems weird to me. There was no main focus, and I just didn't like it all that much. The dog is adorable though.
