a dream that she has
where she dies of fever
amidst a field of
feverfew
She lies in the field, underneath the sun. Her face burns, her breath is labored, and her eyes... everything shifts, and she sees double. What little strength she has. the fever takes at last and she can no longer hold her head up. Her head sinks into the plants and her vision flickers. She sees double, sees triple. Heavy eyes. She struggles to keep her eyes open, but they waver; her strength wavers and -- the last thing she sees before the darkness is the white flower.
