The clock strikes Midnight and the television shuts off abruptly...and then, to the surprise of all who are watching, so do the lights...their cars...every electrical device in their possession.
...One look to the sky reveals a green, sickly-looking sky and a golden moon so bright and ominous it could send a chill down your spine. And lining the streets, just inside open windows, and speckled across town are coffins, stark and red, everywhere you look.
...Once again, Inaba has entered the Dark Hour [9/14]...

[Dark Hour]

At first, the switch-a-roo is jarring, but after a few seconds a familiar and catchy tune begins playing. The camera slowly pans around a man standing in a gray business suit, his undershirt and tie changed to an absurd combination of green and purple that just screams 'You'll be wearing this next Fall!'. The figure turns, grinning at the camera with a smooth and measured smile and new golden contacts that just scream suave! It's Tanaka, the famous businessman and the star of the famous commodities show where people are able to purchase valuable odds and ends.
"Goooooood evening everyone, I'm your host- " The audio suddenly cuts out for a second, perhaps a glitch in the TV? "-i, and this is Tanaka's Screwy Commodities! Our prices are criminal! You'll find it's a bargain beyond a Shadow of a doubt!" The theme song plays again as the camera focuses in on the debonair businessman's face, and he points at the camera knowingly, giving another wink to the crowd. Static flashes across the screen, perhaps from bad reception? "Lets bring out our first item of the day! It's a special all the way from our friends in Iwadate! Iiiit's Broken Crow Stone (x1)!! Guaranteed to contact the dearly departed, or your money back! Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulneeeeess! Buuuuut wait, there's more. Call now, and we'll throw in Amethyst (x1)! All this for 500,000g!" The camera twisted to the side, revealing a statue of a three legged crow that looked as if it had once been alive. One of the legs was broken off, and it's wings were spread wide as if it had attempted to fly away from it's fate; one look at it's eyes caused a sense of tingling grief. However, the grief for the viewer was followed by a wave of nostalgia, as if seeing someone important from their past; but the camera shifted away immediately, breaking the trance on the viewer. A skippy, upbeat tune played as the name flashed over the television in wide, colorful letters, emphasizing the item once again.
"Or, you could select our other, limited quantity, special item! Iiiiit's Moon Pendant (x1)! Give this to that special guy or gal you fancy, and watch them drop to their knees in gratefulness! I bet you'll never be separated again. Fly me to the moon, girlie, eeh hee hee." The camera energetically flew by Tanaka as he did a small step to the side and jig as he swung his fingers back and forth, getting in to the program. "Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulneeeess! But wait, there's more! Buy now and you can get High Skill Expansion (x1)! And all this for the loooow price of 650,000gs! Call now, because supplies are limited."
The camera shot in multiple times disorientingly, finally blaring one last sound of techno-surprise music as Tanaka thrust a finger at the camera. "Arrrre you ready? Then leeeeets bring out our third and final item of the day! Iiiiiit's Shadow Forged Arms Set (x1)! Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulness! But wait, there's more. Call now and we'll throw in Muscle Drink (x5)! It won't help these metallic muscles, but hey, maybe they'll come in useful on leg day! This one gets our special rate of 399,999g! Call in, and be rewaaarded!" The program music aired again as room opened up for callers, and the camera made sure to get the broadcaster's good side as he awaited the incoming calls at 1-555-(9193).
A few moments later a loud jingle rang through the studio, and Tanaka let out a small chuckle, turning to the camera. "That's it folks, we're aaaaall sold out! Tune in tomorrow night for more Screwy Commodities! Same time, same Midnight Channel!" The theme began to play again as the camera faded out, and the lyrics hollowly rang out. 'Granter of your inner desiiiires! It's scccrreeewy, at *bzzzzt*-i's Commodities! It's a wonderful stoooore, all full of greaaat deals~!''
And just like that, the television clicked off again, as the Midnight Channel's programming ended...though what this new bargain show portended too, each viewer could only guess. Except unbeatable prices and out-of-this-world deals, of course! Those were a guarantee.

Broken Crow Stone (x1): A statue found in the ruins of a certain ruined shrine in Iwadate, identical to the crow god once enshrined there. Seals all Shadow powers and equipment in the area, before bringing forth the Persona of one who is deceased. The released Persona, unrestrained and directionless, will lash out at anyone in the area but may show remnants of the former Person's consciousness. The Persona disappears at the end of the Dark Hour (or battle if used at some odd time), and the statue turns to dust afterwards.

Moon Pendant(x1): A jewel straight from the Dark Hour's moon, and carved into otherworldly jewelry. Makes the true owner more resistant to Shadows and their abilities. The Shadow will be as a pet to the owner, unable to disobey without doing permanent harm to themselves...and even then, the pendant grants the owner resistance to their powers, placing freedom firmly out of their grasp.

[Suddenly the image begins to flash to a 'scene' of each figure standing on the stage one-by-one, statistics about their weight and height flashing beside their portrait on one side, with a tasteless nickname attached to their name beneath it! *~:: P1-Climax Rules and Progression Guidelines ::~*Follow these guidelines and rules in order to continue the current, P1-Grand Prix Storyline! Be aware of the rules at all times, so that you are not taken by surprise by any turn of events!
Quote: P1-Climax Guidelines and Rules!1. All fights are one-on-one unless otherwise specified. No interruptions from the outside will be tolerated. 2. All fights may be ended at any time by the two combatants if they have decided a victor. Once the fight begins, you will battle as per Guild-rules for PvP battles (unless otherwise informed). 3. All fights may also be ended after a time limit of [5 Days] or [7 Days]. Once that time limit has passed, Arena Emperor may advance the Round and declare a winner at any point in order to speed along the Tournament proceedings. You may continue posting until the end of the Round is declared, however. 4. If you do not post after 3 days, you may be considered KO'd by your opponent. They may then write a victory post which shows the end of a long battle, ending with their (obvious) success. 5. Fights end when time runs out, an opponent is knocked out, submits, or can no longer fight. You will be expected to participate in every round you qualify for to the best of your abilities. These fights, however, are not to the death. 6. No disposable items are allowed to be used in the Tournament. To prevent fights from dragging on too long, use of items is not allowed. You may also not switch equipment until you leave an area. 7. When you win a fight, you may wander and explore in your current room and the surrounding area. You will not be allowed to enter other areas until the Round ends, however. Invisible barriers will block your progress if you attempt to break these rules. 8. When you lose a fight, you may move to another area...but not to the area where your opponent is going. You may no longer interfere in fights taking place in the P1-Climax. You may communicate with others, participate in any events which are not P1-Climax Battles, and fight any other enemies you may encounter at your discretion. 9. Damage will not naturally recover between battles. You may recover slightly and regain some stamina, but winning a battle does not guarantee you a full heal before the next round. 10. Sensors only work within the confines of the room you are in. You cannot contact anyone in another room, scan others in another room, etc. A white noise will interrupt any attempts to do so. In the event that something occurs during the Climax that specifically CAN be sensed elsewhere, however, you may react accordingly.Special Guidelines!1. When you encounter someone new at the beginning of a Round, you will have 1 post to share your thoughts normally with them. After 1 post, whether you wish it or not, the ring will descend and the battle will begin. 2. After your 1 post encounter (or sooner if you choose) four red pillars will fall around you and your opponent, rejecting anyone else in the area outside of a barrier formed between the pillars. The barrier will not lift until you have fought and a winner is decided. You must fight if trapped within the barrier until one person has been effectively defeated. 3. When the battle ends, a strange thing will occur...after the first time this happens, you may assume it happens after every fight henceforth. Use the time you have before the round ends to figure out what's going on through conversation! 4. At any time, an image of 'General Teddie' may appear on the screen to taunt you! You may write these taunts as you see fit, or ignore them as you see fit. Just know this is happening until otherwise stated! 5. Once this announcement is finished, your character will have officially entered Babel either with Soji (as an I. Team Member), with the SEES-Temps (under Gin's direction), or on your own (Tezuka, Yuuya, and villains)! As soon as this announcement is finished, you can assume you have entered the TV as stated above...then, after a temporary blackout, you will wake up in the designated area for your first battle! Begin playing as per the aforementioned rules immediately! Other Important Notes!1. If you happen to come across a [Certain Item], which will be posted in the forum by Arena Emperor or Great Ryoman!, you may have the opportunity to recover it for a prize or upgrade! These items will be randomly generated, but may have great benefits! Read item descriptions after picking them up to find out what these may be... 2. In the rarest of instances, an [Interloper] may appear before, during, or after your fight! If this happens to you, you may be challenged to a battle you did not expect! Accept or reject the battle at your own risk. If directed upon the appearance of an [Interloper], others may arrive and help you with this sudden event, even if they have been eliminated from the Climax!3. If you have a battle lined up between 2 of your own characters, you do NOT have to RP it out, unless you choose to. You may post as your character in the next round and reflect upon the battle, RP the battle out, or make mention of it in passing...the choice is yours. This is so that you do not feel overwhelmed by too many battles at once... 4. Two specific events will occur during and after Climax battles you MUST be aware of. --First, enemies who have a Trapezohedron will drop said item if defeated. Recover it and return it to the unconscious Seneca Daidouji after the event (or after your elimination)! If all four are returned, something interesting may happen. --Second, after your battle something will occur to you...this is something you WILL notice, and pertains to the events of the overarching storyline. Do not forget about this phenomenon, even if you are eliminated from the Climax! It pays to investigate strange things in Babel... 5. If you have questions, ideas, or concerns, ask Arena Emperor or Great Ryoman! immediately! To keep things running smoothly, we will be glad to assist you in any way possible. 6. If you wish to follow the bracket and see who has won, lost, or who may fight next, you may do so here. Once a fight is over, tell Arena Emperor the outcome and he will update the Tournament Bracket. You're going to fight, and you're going to win or lose, until only ONE of you remains standing at the TOP OF THE BEAR-PILE!
I'm not taking any chances with you this time...I've got HOSTAGES, this time! And if you refuse to fight who is put in front of you in the P1-Climax, I'm going to make it so that they NEVER make it home again! So remember...once the RING descends, you either win or lose! There's no more backing out! We're doing this thing right!

Quote: ::Zanaka's Screwy Commodities!::Suddenly a new image jumps on screen with a cacophonous roar of music, an upkick of background tunes, and a stream of blood red confetti from on high! At first, the switch-a-roo is jarring, but after a few seconds a familiar and catchy tune begins playing. The camera slowly pans around a man with unnatural white skin standing in a gray business suit, his undershirt and tie changed to an absurd combination of green and purple that just screams 'You'll be wearing this next Fall!'. The figure turns, grinning at the camera with a jagged and unusual smile and leering golden eyes that pierce into your soul! It's Tanaka(?), the famous businessman and the star of the famous commodities show where people are able to purchase valuable odds and ends.
"Goooooood evening everyone, I'm your host Za- " The audio suddenly cuts out for a second, perhaps a glitch in the TV? "-naka, and this is Tanaka's Hilariously Screwy Commodities! Our prices won't Strega-way from affordable! You'll find it's a bargain beyond a Shadow of a doubt!" The theme song plays again as the camera focuses in on the debonair businessman's face, and he points at the camera knowingly, giving another wink to the crowd. Static fills the screen for several seconds, and a strange cackle fills the air before being cut off as the program snaps back onto the tube. "Lets bring out our first item of the day! A personal favorite, I think there should be one in every home...Iiiit's Cthonic Knife (x1)!! Pesky neighbors? Do something about it! Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulneeeeess! Buuuuut wait, there's more. Call now, and we'll throw in Evil Dead Binding (x1)! What a steal, and all yours for a measly 500,000,000g!" The camera twisted to the side, revealing a dagger with a serrated edge that glowed with an unusual red tint. Underneath it sat a polished silver cuff that didn't seem quite as demonic, but still caused a tingle of desire inside every onlooker. Perhaps it had hidden powers it's own; but the camera shifted away immediately, breaking the trance on the viewer. A skippy, upbeat tune played as the name flashed over the television in wide, colorful letters, emphasizing the item once again.
"Or if you're looking for an item that's more Persona-l, we've got just the thing for you! Lets bring out our second item of the day! Iiiiit's Build-A-Frost Voucher (x1)! You've heard of Build-a-Bear? This isn't that. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so put that to the test with your neeew pal!" The camera energetically flew by Tanaka as he did a small step to the side and jig as he swung his fingers back and forth, getting in to the program. "Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulneeeess! But wait, there's more! Buy now and you can get Odd Morsel (x5)! And all this for the loooow price of 750,000,000g! Call now, because supplies are limited."
The camera suddenly cut through a series of shots of the stage from various directions, with black hands seeming to creep over the edge of the television screen just before it cut away each time. The music kicked up a notch one last time as a hurricane of techno-surprise music erupted and Tanaka thrust a finger at the camera. "Arrrre you ready? Then leeeeets bring out our third item of the day! Things are picking up now! Iiiiiit's a Relic of Kadath Mandala (x1)! Ooh, I can tell this one's in your heart already...a rare item from a certain sea we're not conscious of! Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulness! But wait, there's more. Call now and we'll throw in Leon S. Kennedy Custom Model Desert Eagle (x1)! Identical to the original, and a must-have for any collector! This one gets our special rate of 1,000,000,000g! Call in, and be rewaaarded!"
A round of cheers filled the air and the view panned over the crowd hidden in darkness. Many hands raised and clapped above what must have been the audience, cheering on the telemarketing show with an unnatural vigor. "And now we get to our fiiiiiiinal item of the day! Last, but definitely not least, we bring you a very special product fresh off the assembly line...iiiiit's Plume of Dusk (x1)! Guaranteed to help you open up new ways of thinking, and it's like having twice the brain power! Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's wonderfulneeeess! But wait, there's more! Buy now and you can get Eternal Flame (x1)! The total for this comes up to a minute 5,000,000,000g! Take a Deep Breath Deep Breath, and Burn My Dread away by lighting up those phone lines now! Supplies are liiimited!" The program music aired again as room opened up for callers, and the camera made sure to get the broadcaster's good side as he awaited the incoming calls at 1-555-(9193).
A few moments later a loud jingle rang through the studio, and Tanaka let out a small chuckle, turning to the camera. "That's it folks, we're aaaaall sold out! Tune in tomorrow night for more Screwy Commodities! Same time, same Midnight Channel!" The theme began to play again as the camera faded out, and the lyrics hollowly rang out. 'Granter of your inner desiiiires! It's scccrreeewy, at Za-*bzzzzt*'s Commodities! It's a wonderful stoooore, all full of slaaaughter~!''
And just like that, the television clicked off again, as the Midnight Channel's programming ended...though what this new bargain show portended too, each viewer could only guess. Except unbeatable prices and out-of-this-world deals, of course! Those were a guarantee.

Cthonic Knife: (x1): A rare dagger who's edge glows crimson. When used to inflict a wound on another, it forces the victim’s Persona to manifest in the real world and go berserk. Victims lose all control of their powers until the Persona is defeated. Dagger has no effect on those with powers, whose strength is not rooted in Personas or Shadows.
Evil Dead Binding (x1): Special bracelet that resembles a cuff, similar to Jo(shu)'s, designed for a (Charmer) but modified slightly to apply to any humanoid-type Demon. While being worn, the wearer's demonic energy is completely suppressed, hiding their true form, and granting them a human form. While wearing it, one cannot detect any spiritual energy from them, or notice anything that would give away the wearer's true nature. Can only be used on one demon at a time, though can be switched between them freely.

If they are a Good-aligned character, it will be the Persona of a fallen teammate...if an Evil-aligned character, then it will be a Shadow.

Plume of Dusk (x1): Gives birth to a Persona inside of a person who does not have one; this Persona is, in actuality, a Shadow in the guise of a Persona which functions in a near-identical fashion to a normal Persona (with an increased volatility and power). ‘Persona’ has the skill set of an ‘Evolved’ Persona but is at the Tier of an ‘Ultimate’. ‘Evolved’ skill is, instead, ‘Shadow Persona Skill’, with a much higher power threshold. This Persona may exhibit a personality all it's own, and be driven to act on it's own sometimes, often to grant the desire of the user if they misunderstand them.
Eternal Flame (Lost Lewt): Possess a flame that will never extinguish, that delivers high healing to those who are touched by the flames and restores lost limbs if used within 1 Day (Real Time) of the loss.

An exhausting day at last draws to a close with the first night of the P1-Climax having come to a surprising conclusion. With the interruption of the Arcana Shadows and the revelations of the Emperor and Empress, a terrible truth begins to reveal itself to the members of the Investigation Team...no matter what action they take, the agendas of the Messiahs and Messengers seem unstoppable. Still, to save what lives they can, they resolve to fight...to save the world, however, they must discover the truth both of their enemies' plan and of the strength that lays within.

Meanwhile, the Black Messiahs grow more active and more dangerous with each passing day. With the advent of the Shadow Lord and the Shadow Joker, another dark pall falls over the Tower of Babel and those who seek to climb the levels within. Terror and death linger throughout the city...the memory of the Emperor and the Empress and the cold dismissal of both by the Shadow Messiah, their last memory flashing in the minds of the members of the team, are both images which will not soon be forgotten.

Saturday Morning... September 15th, 2012. It is a foggy Saturday, but the rain that has fallen the last few nights seems to have passed. An eerie feeling permeates the town, as the tragedies in the fog of not so very long ago remain fresh in the minds of those who lived through them...

Morning classes will soon begin. Rumors abound this morning about the strange patient delivered to the hospital by a famous musician in the wee hours of the night. It is not expected he will survive his wounds... Many doctors and nurses have been seen coming and going from the long-term, in-patient wing of the hospital this morning. Could something more than that have happened with one of the patients?

Overnight, Mataki and the Student Council have helped the classrooms set up a series of booths throughout the grounds to celebrate the advent of Fall and the history of Yasogami High School. A myriad of strange attractions fill the school; group cafes, performances, and contests all await those with the courage to participate! Will you be a winner? Will you find love? Will you be beaten down by a bloody baby Shadow in the darkened hallways of a far over-budget haunted house?
...Something indeed stirs in the shadows of this strange Festival, but what could it be? Throughout the town, the strange fog lingers...
