North of the railroad tracks that cross Inaba's main highway are even more shops, though less tooled towards everyday needs such as the Tofu shop and the beef bowl place, and aimed more at specific wants such as Tatsumi Textiles and Konishi Liquors. The town layout was obviously designed with this segment of interests in hand, but that hasn't prevented it from being just as busy as it's counterpart in the South, with some eateries and a local shrine making it just as quaint as the second half of the hub of Inaba. Because of the strange interests that a few residents have however, these buildings are packed together a bit tighter, leaving back alleys for unscrupulous business or the purchasing of things that neighbors would frown upon, such as depression medicine and 'unsightly things' in the fickle Japanese mindset. Near the edge of this area is Junes, adding to it's business, acting like a buffer between the southern area's family businesses and the large megastore which crushes competition.

Other important locations that can be visited in the Downtown District include:

-Aiya's Diner
-Souzai Daigaku (Beef skewer shop)
-Konishi Liquor Store
-The Shrine [Shrine Charms, etc.]
-Tatsumi Textile Shop

Luckily Nix and Amelia made it off school campus and into town without any teachers catching them. She felt a bit excited being in the Downtown District at this time of the day. Everyone else was back at school, hopefully Teros as well. Aiya's was just up the street so soon they would reach their destination. "So.. How have you been, Amelia? I haven't seen you and many of the others during break. I wanted to visit but I wasn't sure how to go about it.. I didn't want to call and interrupt any plans you had or rest. So I'm sorry about the lack of contact." The girl rambled on, not sure how to go about telling Amelia where her temporary residence was. Now that Nix thought of it perhaps she should go to the inn or go through with her original plan. Kusuri, her father, Faust, Eiora, and Naomi stayed in that one house. Her being there must've caused some form of trouble or financial strain, they were too kind to voice it if that was the case.

She was glad that the two managed to be out of campus and in the district, but she was still feeling uneasy over the fact that Teros was looming around. Amelia wasn't able to think too much on it, not when her attention was taken by dear Nix, the girl lifting up her head to look over at the snowy haired girl. She listened to her, quirking up a curious brow in how Nix was going on about how she didn't want to bother anyone if they had any plans going on or to interfere with their rest. "It would've been nice, though," she said, Amelia quirking up a smile as the two continued to walk down the street.

"I hardly see you out of... well you know, troubling times and all. So, you know, pretty nice that we're at least having this." The girl gave out a soft laugh. "But to sneak off of campus? Didn't expect that one coming out of you!" The girl soon looked ahead and went closer to Aiya's, soon entering along with Nix with an anxious stomach. "Wonder what I should order... What are you getting?"

"I can't say I expected that of you either..." A hand wrapped tightly around both of the girl's shoulders, as the icy cold hand gave them both reasons to freeze in place themselves. "A~me~li~a. I was wondering, what might two high school girls be doing slipping away from school on the first day of the new Semester. So I decided to tag along..." As they turned, a demonic grin, closed eyes and a twitching eyebrow that screamed 'Wrath of God' stared back at them. Was this the reason they called him the 'Demon President'? Yes. Not because of that other particular reason, which wasn't exactly common knowledge. But since taking office Mataki had worked hard to turn Yasogami into a place where people could feel at peace, and the air of the school had become an atmosphere better for studying than it had been for years, with just one little hiccup...anyone who broke the rules, regretted it. "Maybe you were doing some extracurricular studying? I do wonder how the price of Takoyaki's changed lately..." His face moved closer to Nix's for a moment, and the aura of blood and doom swirled around, practically visible as waves poured off his body. "Or is that not it?"

Nix listened to Amelia as they walked closer to the restaurant, now noticing that they never really met under normal circumstances. "I agree.. It would be nice to be able to hang out without having to summon Personas all the time and look over our shoulders. To tell you the truth I'm still trying to get used to all this." She never had to fight before meeting the Investigation Team though overall it was a good thing she did. If the girl hadn't met them then where would she be right now? Mentally that was..

Before Nix could answer Amelia's question she felt a hand tightly grasp her shoulder. Her eyes widened as her heart rate quickly increased, flashbacks filling her mind. The only times when someone grabbed her was when they-. The snowy haired girl looked over, seeing Mataki's face close to her and sensing a bad aura about him. She was teetering on the edge of a panic attack as she could only think about those incidents. So the girl quickly pulled away from the angry president and cowered at Amelia's side. "I..I..well.. that is.." Every ounce of courage she had before drained away at that moment.

Amelia leaned away when she felt the icy cold hand on her shoulder, already knowing that voice all too well and knows the exact tone that he was using. You can't be serious, she thought. In contrast with Nix, Amelia was keeping a straight face when she turned to look at the humanized grape before her. Well, much of a straight face as she could... Quite honestly, she was trying very hard not to let a grin grow on her face with how ridiculous this guy's stalking abilities are. It's like he had a sort of radar installed in his brain. Her head tilted for a moment when he got close to Nix, seeing at how he was making the poor girl growing nervous and stuttering next to her.

"Oh, Mataki," Amelia started, planting a hand on the Demon President's face to push him lightly back and away from Nix. "Let her breathe. We weren't skipping, just having an open campus lunchtime. Plus!" Amelia nudged Nix with a smile before she looked back at Mataki, "We were going to be heading back to class afterwards. ... And to be technical, you're skipping, too. Since you're here, are you gonna join in, or~...?"

"Oh? So when a cop breaks up a drug deal, does that make him guilty by association?" Mataki said, craning his neck in Amelia's direction with a look she'd probably seen on Lewis Keys' face a thousand times. One that simply said, 'you can't talk your way out of this'. Then, after a few seconds, Mataki sighed, and the tension broke up. "Well since you insist~. But I'm pretty sure I said this once before...if I catch you skipping again, well...you get the idea." Mataki said, making a guillotine motion. The fact that they would be lucky to get detention was something that hadn't escaped anyone in Yasogami...and if he went around giving his own friends a free pass, then discipline would simply fall. "I never thought I'd see someone with such a perfect record leisurely strolling out the front gate either, Ms. Gallen. I trust you won't consider making this a habit either? If they heard that one of our most diligent students was becoming a delinquent, I'd never hear the end of it." Mataki said with a very real sigh. Why did they never consider his point of view for a change? Just one word and he'd end up being chewed out by the principle, and in turn they might try to take more authority to enforce the strict on-campus rules...really, as long as Mataki was in control of the situation, the students had it much easier than they might have imagined. If they started standing up against the authority though, then the faculty might consider reminding them who was technically in charge...and all of Mataki's mediation would be for naught.

"Though, I might overlook this whole thing, and even pay for lunch...if you listen to a proposition I have." Mataki hinted, glancing towards Amelia. It wasn't like he was simply keeping track of her. Well okay, he was keeping track of her, but no more than he was every other student in Yasogami High. It was safe to say when anyone left the school grounds he would find out about it, and that was exactly part of what made him such a terrifying enforcer of the rules. It wasn't always true that he would do the thing most friendly to the other students, but if nothing else he was entirely consistent on his belief in keeping up the school morals, and that meant those who broke the rules would always get punished. Whether it was a small mistake that others would have let slide...or not. Mataki glanced back to Nix, who seemed all too frightened, and after remembering what he heard from her decided to at least spin a tale...one way or the other, he'd move the subject along. "You should be careful too. Haven't you heard the rumor lately about young, beautiful girls being snatched away when they wandered the streets when they shouldn't have? The scariest thing, is that most of them are suppose to be...from Yasogami." Mataki said, all signs pointing to them being the next victims. A mere rumor? Perhaps. On the other hand, if it were true then that would make Mataki's work all the harder...and to be sure, someone in his position knew if that little tidbit was fact, or fiction...

A hand rested itself on her hip with a tilted head as Amelia stared up at Mataki, still having a grin on her face even when he gave her a certain look on his face that he was trying to imitate. Gold star in trying, and a soft chuckle escaped from her and she nodded. "Yes, yes, we know, Mataki. We know." she lifted up a hand with another being placed over her heart. "I swear that I'll be a good representative of the school." The girl was about to go on in telling him to try and relax, but her curiosity perked some when he told her that they should talk about some sort of proposition.

"Is that so?" she asked. What was it that he wanted to talk about? The girl looked to the side, noticing that they were still outside of Aiya's then Amelia nudged Nix to urge her to go inside so that they could be seated and eat. "Come on, Mataki," she said, smirking over to him. "None of that right now, I want to enjoy my lunch." As soon as they made it inside and get their tables, Amelia folded her hands and looked towards Mataki. "So...?"

"You'd enjoy your lunch a lot more as the new Student Council Secretary...~" Mataki suggested in a bit of a hum, following Nix inside. No reason to stand outside to discuss something like this. And considering the tone in his voice, this time it seemed that Amelia would have to seriously consider the proposition, or else who knew what might happen...maybe even a familiar Norse God of Tricking People would get involved. Not that I'm suggesting anything~ o wo b

She wasn't able to have time to get herself situated at that point, the girl staring at him. "Wait..." She looked over towards Nix then back over at Mataki before shaking her head and tapping a finger against it. "Wait, wait, you want me to be Secretary?" she asked, looking at him oddly. "Isn't there someone else who has that position in your group or something? Come on, I'm lucky enough to have time to do homework with the crazy schedule." The dark haired girl leaned back against her chair, crossing her arms. "Can't you find someone else?"

"It's an easy position. I strive to make sure our duties are fulfilled as swiftly as possible...even if Yasuo does tell me I'm doing someone else's job far too much, sometimes." Mataki said, scratching his chin. He didn't want to admit that he tended to throw himself into the Student Council work, and so the Secretary rarely found themselves burdened with work...but more importantly, there were reasons that he needed someone he trusted around, and for that he couldn't think of anyone better. "Besides, Minori's likely agreed to the position we've offered to her already. It requires someone I can trust to hold one of these positions, and you two are the best choices I can think of. Plus...you don't want to leave Minori alone with the rest of these guys, do you?" Mataki said, hinting that maybe it required someone who could watch Minori's back in the coming time. In truth, he hadn't proposed they take the jobs earlier to keep the two out of trouble, but when his Vice President had adamantly handed him a list of names, he saw something that had piqued his curiosity...and that caused him no shortage of worry. "The truth is, there's someone who's going to be forced to join my ranks soon. I'm not sure if I can trust him, but without someone backing me, my voice will be relatively mute in our meetings. I think it would be better if I didn't throw Minori into that sort of situation on her own...but I thought that if anyone would look after her, without being half hearted, it would be you Amelia." Mataki explained. They were the best of friends, and no one could guard the girl's back quite like Ms. Heartilly. But if they were unable to stick together on this one situation, Mataki would have to find some way to circumvent the system, something he was loath to do...but at the same time, there could seriously be someone's life, or at least harm to some students on the line. And he wouldn't forgive anyone who allowed something like that to happen; least of all himself.

Thanks to Amelia stepping in and giving her some space, Nix was able to calm herself down enough to pay attention to what was being said. Normally she would high tail it to the nearest place where she could be alone, at least there was some improvement. "I won't make a habit of it.. It was only going to be this one time." The girl listened to Mataki tell a rumor Teros had also explained just moments ago. "I'll be careful.. Thank you, Mataki." Luckily the girl could defend herself against attackers now that she had not only a persona but a certain.. er someone in her cellphone, as strange as it sounded.

After being nudged by Amelia Nix headed into Aiya's and sat down with them, glad that they hadn't been dragged back to the school just yet. After they all got seated Mataki suggested that the violet eyed girl become a member of the Student Council. Amelia didn't seem quite fond of the offer though as she gave excuses why she couldn't take the job. Nix didn't know she had such a busy schedule until now.. But the president appeared to be prepared for this as he was quick to destroy her excuses. So the snowy haired girl remained silent as she glanced around the restaurant, feeling a bit out of place now. 'Maybe I should head back..'

Amelia blew her hair for a moment away from her face but kept herself leaned back in her chair with arms crossed. It was interesting, though, to hear that Minori might've already gotten herself a position in the council already. The dark-haired girl figured that was probably who her best friend was talking to this morning, someone involved with the council. Amelia had to frown, though, not at all liking that Minori was being used as some sort of bait to lure her in. A great choice of bait, but it's still bait. Her head tilted, processing this whole thing as a finger tapped against her arm, hearing about a new member joining in that Mataki doesn't seem to be comfortable with at all and how he would rather not let Minori alone in this whole ordeal. "Sorry, Nix. Go ahead and order, alright?" she said quietly to the snowy girl. Mataki's random pop-ups don't always mean good news, anyway. Amelia leaned her head to the side, giving out a sigh.

"So Minori is going to be working with guys in a Council." She shrugged. "No huge problem with me. She can take care of herself, Mataki, I'm not her guard dog so you can quit that. Please? And, again, I thought someone else has the position of Secretary in the Council, so isn't your problem solved right there." She leaned in, her voice lowering some, a finger poking at the table. "Also this distrust in the new member sounds like a personal problem." Amelia leaned back now, looking away with arms crossed. "You're making this sound a little too serious than it should... " something hit her at that point, a quizzical look going over her face before she looked towards him. "Who's this new member that's making you worry so much?"

"Without a certain level of trust, nothing can be accomplished Amelia. That said..." Mataki motioned for a drink, something which Aiya would know to make a juice, before continuing. "Lets just say, I wouldn't wander through the hallways during class anymore. Not unless you want to be given detention..." As Mataki received the drink, he stirred the straw for a moment, acting as if he were playful, although he was merely giving off a corny facade to add to the statement. "...with Teros, new Head of Disciplinary Committee." Mataki took a drink after saying the statement, since there was nothing he could really follow that up with to make Amelia feel better. In fact, it was likely that sense of 'isn't he a murderer' that he wanted to be sinking in, since given the situation Mataki couldn't take action against him at all. In fact the means to show anyone Teros was someone who caused harm escaped him entirely...or at least, it wouldn't come without great risk. And although he was telling this to Amelia because those two were consomate enemies, Mataki had ever been in favor of the school as a neutral grounds. As long as Teros was compelled to come, he felt there was a chance for reform...to change something, somewhere deep down in him. And if that wasn't the case, then at the least he would preserve the peace in his school by refusing to take sides like the I.Teamers, and in doing so he might form a rock known as Yasogami that neither side was willing to move against. Already it was under the protection of a being they should have dreaded to cross, and as things went into motion, his allies would only continue to gather and make his power base as solid as stone. Quite crafty for someone who was neither the hero, nor the villain, wouldn't they agree? If they knew, of course. "With a new Secretary and Head of Club Management, I'd feel much better off." Mataki said, glancing towards Nix. Wait, did that mean he was making her an offer too...?

It was at that point that Amelia let out a laugh, a hand instantly covering her mouth with the other waving. "Wait-- hehe- wait, wait!" she giggled, trying to catch some breath and looked towards him. "Him?! Of..of ALL people!? HE'S going to be a part of all this? And as-- I'm sorry." she waved her hands, soon hiding her face in a palm with shoulder shaking in laughter.

"I can't. Ahh..." Slowly she started to settle down and sighing out, knowing that this is a serious matter with the fact that Teros was going to be doing this sort of thing, no matter how damned ridiculous it is. She sighed, settling herself down as she tried to think. Why would he? Councils mean communications, interactions. Interactions with other students. Right... Teros wouldn't keep an eye ont he team, there was no point to it. A smirk went on her face, seeing some sort of dark humor in this, but knew that Teros was more than likely going to try and probably gain some new recruits. The best way was to be in their very habitat, an place where teens come and go and listen to anything and believe anything if they aren't careful.

"Well then..." she began, looking back up at Mataki. "I can see your unease..." she paused, taking the time to give out a frustrated sigh with a roll of her eyes then held out her hand. "Alright, alright, I'm in."
