~Port Island Back Alleys~

The Back Alleys of Port Island Station have a history of the darkest kind...gangs hang out there, shady characters pass through all the time, and then the murder of a Gekkoukan High Student not so long ago make it something of a ghost story told to the children of Iwatodai and Port Island. Though in reality it is nothing more than a delinquent's hangout for truants and other unsavory people, it is not quite so bad as the rumors would portend.

Located in the area are a well-frequented Mahjong Parlor that is particularly popular amongst the Gekkoukan Faculty and a nearby bar that serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons of varying ages. There is also a low-income housing project nearby that was the location of a gruesome accident four years ago, resulting in the death of a single woman...the mother of Ken Amada.

Yes, the area is fraught with suspicion and bad history, and despite the reality not quite living up to the stories, it is still a place that high schoolers and young people only tend to go with the utmost caution...

General Miran Froaude, Froaude Clan of Fukushima and Albert Wesker, Rider of the Apocalypse
"Are you a man who will do what is necessary?"

[One night earlier...11:30 P.M.]

Blood. A spray of crimson and black splattered across the street like paint across a Jackson Pollock paint-job, a sickening sort of splatter as it hit the moist blacktop all at once. Crimson eyes shimmered in the dark of the back alleys of the Port Island Station, a low growl escaping a man with a pitch-black long coat as he hissed into the blackness. There was a history to this place of death and violence; years earlier a young man in a peacoat had been gunned down mercilessly in this same alley. Now it was the ground of another incident in which blood was spilled across the cold asphalt, warm and thick and straight from the veins. But the victim this time was no average man, and the attack's weapons were something far more vicious and sophisticated than the barrel of a gun. Tears in the black coat revealed themselves in the thick moonlight that shone overhead, and crimson coated the teeth of the man that grit themselves together in a mixture of pain and frustration. Not since the devil with the red hair had anyone managed to push him this deep into a battle, and it had been just as long since anybody had managed to truly bring him pain. The shadows engulfed his attacker, but a supernatural sort of sense allowed him to follow him to some degree, eyes shooting to his right when the shadows seemed to shift around him. The growl became louder, his frustration audible with each passing moment that the fight continued. "I am a Rider of the Apocalypse, a chosen by Lord Lucifer to shepherd this world into a new darkness," the man bit as the shadows shifted in the other direction, his eyes following the movements with a cat-like quickness. Black shades, shattered lens on one side, he quickly gripped between his fingers and cast aside, all pretenses of calm beginning to leave him. "The right to become a God...is MI-NGH!"

From the shadows lashed a violet beast, a black and purple flicker like flames and shadow in the form of a massive direwolf ripping through the arm of the blond target with another thick spray of black and red blood across the mouth of the shadow beast, across the hard dirt beneath their feet, all from the empty stump of a left arm that had been whole only a few moments earlier. His lips spat blood and erupted into a bedeviled scream, anger and agony mingled within the horrid cry, and as he turned to follow the movements of the wolf, his attacker, he growled in a manner most feral, hand clenching over the arm-slot with in a dangerously swift reaction. And yet the wolf was out of sight in a moment, the sound of a low laughter emitting from the far side of him earning a whip-like turn and a sudden bubble at the arm-stump, black and red and green all at the same time...before a spray of pink flesh burst from the arm in a tangle of tentacles and blood! "I'll not see my life's work made a mockery by the likes of you Crows," his voice began to catch and gag as his body mutated...twisting from the shoulder as it extended wide, a blade forming at the end of the mass of it all...and as his jacket tore away entirely, revealing a mangled chest and tentacles crawling over his jaw and chin, his crimson eyes glowed terrifyingly in the dark at his tormentor and hunter...locked right on the spot where he had come to be sure the attacker was this time, "I was more than capable of escaping you once, and now...I am in possession of a power that rises beyond the level of humans! Rises beyond the level of your meager comprehension! ...And I have no more time left to play with you. So step forward into the light...or do you lack the power to fight without the shadows to hide you?"

All at once the tentacles whipped out into the darkness from his arm, and as they merged into the shadows a spray of crimson splattered against the alley's walls...the fence between the body and the wall...and upon the asphalt beneath them. A smirk began to curl the lips of the Rider of Pestilence at the sound of blood and crushing bone...

...until the pain of his own severed tentacles was registered, another frustrated growl erupting from his throat as he drew back a mangled arm...the blade at the end of it no longer present to weaponize it. Laughter echoed from all around the Rider just then, and he could no longer sense the man's location no matter which direction he looked. For so long he had avoided the Crows' eyes, stolen their secrets, and made a mockery of the pursuit that they had placed on him...now, only now, did he begin to contemplate the idea that perhaps it had all been for nothing. Only now did he find himself up against a member of the Yatagarasu who had proven themselves a challenge to him, and only now did the possibility that he could lose...that he could be killed and see all of his work, all of his grandeur, end up wasted. And only because this man was such a coward, hiding in the shadows and letting his ethereal beasts do the fighting for him! He cursed the darkness that he had always embraced, and he cursed his own cat-like vision for still somehow being not quite sharp enough to get a read on the man's movements. He was swift and powerful and he most certainly didn't play fair. Even the very first attack which had injured him so deeply, a stream of blood and guts from his stomach that he had healed with his own virus, had been entirely from surprise and the shadows...silent, vicious. And the mixture of panic and frustration that began to creep over his features was overcome with rage at the traitorous thoughts that filled him...rage at his attacker and his beasts, and rage at the world for betraying what he had always known to be rightfully his from the day he had been raised by that b*****d...that he was more than man. He was a God.

But gods didn't die. And he...

"And what incentive do I have to fight you fairly?" a voice teased him from the dark, even as Wesker's tentacles began to regenerate...whipping in the direction of the voice only to smash uselessly into a mass of trash cans and rattle the whole alley in a noise that could mask his attacker's movements with ease. He growled and whipped his tentacles in a circle, smashing into the walls and the dumpsters and the chain-link fence with little result...and then at long last he heard it, the motion of a man behind him! His body whipped around to see the flash of black and blue and a glowing blue eye closing in on him in a flash; his tentacles flung in a circle to hit him but the man's attack was quicker...a punch snapped his neck almost completely to the side, the lithe form ducking under his mass of powerful tentacles just as it passed over his head...only for a swift whirl of foot to follow behind and crack the Rider's jaw completely out of place with a smooth roundhouse kick that sent him reeling a few steps back...

Spewing blood and angry, he recoiled and drew back his other arm, tentacles beginning to form out of those fingers as well...but even as they began to extend forward from his fingers, the man was falling back into the shadows...the massive form of a shadow bear, Wesker's own blade clenched between its teeth, lunged forward and buried the wide-blade lengthways in his front side and tackled him straight down to the ground, letting the blade pin and split him near head-to-toe...holding him fast to the asphalt beneath him. Black blood rolled, flowing down the streets and towards the drains like a wave of sickening water...a river of disease and death...and the tentacles still struggled, even as the man was rent near in-two by the blade...pinned by the bear...but the efforts and the growls were for nothing, a pack of shadowy wolves suddenly replacing the bear, gnawing and biting at his wrists and ankles, his neck and his hips, pinning him to the Earth...tearing away at his body, bit-by-diseased-bit...tearing away all that remained of him as he screamed to the heavens in horrid agony...

"I would apologize for the way I went about this fight, but honestly, I'm not sorry. I have no regrets. I feel no guilt. You may curse me if you wish. Call me a devil, call me a coward, call me evil...I've been called worse, and by devils far superior to you," his words echoed in the dark, the amusement gone from his voice, a solemn resignation within as he stepped out of the shadows to stand over the pack of shadow beasts that slowly began to finish the man who became a symbol of Pestilence and death...his eyes shimmered blue in the darkness, the red gemstone in his ring shimmering as a few more wolves were added to the mix, speeding up the process...the last and only mercy that Wesker would receive from him, "I am General Miran Froaude of the JSSDF and the Yatagarasu's Fukushima Defense Clan. And I'm more than happy to be called a villain by the likes of you, so long as the job is done." He looked down at the mess of what had once been a terrifying enemy and the river of black flowing down the cursed alley. At last, with the last scraps of the man gone from sight he dismissed the shadow beasts into the darkness...all but the last, which carried to him one emblem, torn from the man's body, a token that would act as proof of his victory to those who would ask for such a thing.

Taking it between his fingers, he examined it once before sliding it into his breast pocket and dismissing the shadow wolf with a faint pat on the head. It was over now...the battle ended, the job was done. He continued to watch the crimson and black tide until the last of it had drained into gutters and dispersed...gone, along with the body of its master. His lips curled faintly, not into a smile, but a small frown. Victories never brought him any particular satisfaction...winning was merely expected. By whatever means...even if his name became cursed by the heavens for the way he went about them. Some things needed done...no matter the cost.

"Albert Wesker, former Yatagarasu Scientist gone rogue...Founder of the Terrorist Sect 'Uroborus'...Rider of the Apocalypse known as Pestilence..." his voice was quiet in the dark as he drew a book from his pocket, the pen within finding the entrance which spoke the words he parroted into the night, "Deceased. ...I should report to the Herald in Okina, then the Inn thereafter." He mused, letting his eyes drift to the thickening, bright moonlight in the sky overhead. His lips curled faintly, his first deep breath filling his lungs since the battle had begun. Another job done...another threat gone. Japan was just a little bit safer because of what he had done...his country...his lips curled into a little smirk as he thought of it, and then another colleague whose face he found he was growing a little anxious to see now that he was finished and his blood was still pumping...

"I wonder if she's finished hers yet...?"

[9/16 - Beast Out Of Time Mission from the Yatagarasu]

[Fog fills the back alleys of Port Island, which are looking even more deserted than usual the last few days after rumors of disappearances and horrid, bestial growls. Nothing seems quite capable of burning off the fog, and the travelers from the future have been assigned a mission by the Yatagarasu - find the target, a demonic bear known as a Kokogiak, and take it down. You've yet to locate the beast, but the fog's here... it's best to be on your guard.]

Venustus glanced left and right as he approached the area...Seeing a thick, unnatural fog. He gripped his weapon firmly, glancing around the area carefully.
"A Kokogiak?" he asked to the others, still confused by the term. If it was a request from Ciela, it had to be something serious...
And, with her telling them it was powerful...Well, he had to be careful.

Amora herself had followed along, after being given the order from the Kuzunoha. Something about her head was hurting more than usual...And, she clutched her phone tightly.
Her father was busy with Cynthia, and there was a threat that could encroach to Inaba...
That would not be acceptable.
"Ugh..I just wish my head.." she sounded, clutching her weapon, and wincing. They had to be on their guard....
'I won't get caught off guard like last time..'

Kuzaku Martillo, the Knight of Azathoth and Kawari Chishio, the Blood Caster

Kuzaku and Kawari weren't far behind Amorabundus and Venustus. After discussing the Kokogiak with Ciela Kuzunoha, Kuzaku had come armed for bear (as it were), but at the moment he was favoring Cthugha as his weapon of choice. Worst-case scenario, he could activate Magus Form and attack directly. Unfortunately, his God-Beast was just a bit too showy for this place, even if the alleyways were shrouded by fog.

(Human form was an option, but... well, Kawari was here, and he didn't want her to feel like his eyes were on another woman, even if she knew perfectly well said 'woman' was a roiling mass of nuclear energy given form by ancient alchemic techniques.)

As ever, he was perfectly willing to go on the front lines - indeed, given his body's actual immortality, he preferred to be up front in order to protect his friends. It wasn't that he didn't believe they couldn't handle themselves - he simply didn't like seeing them get hurt, especially when there was something he could do about it.

More importantly, though, neither Kawari nor his teacher would forgive him for being too selfish at a moment like this. "Is something the matter, Lady Amorabundus?" He asked, kneeling down so he could look her in the eyes.

Kawari watched Kuzaku with a small smile, pleased to see the way he cared for those around him. Unlike her Knight, she didn't really rely on tools of processes - her Blood Casting was more of an innate trait, and its vitality-sapping power had served her in good stead against quite a few foes. She was more than ready to fling fire at a moment's notice (and against a demonic ice bear, fire did seem like the natural choice), and she kept her senses sharp as Venustus asked a question.

"Yes. Apparently, they're not especially well-known, in part because they're so rare and they usually don't leave their home areas. They wouldn't normally be in a place like this, and I think that was what tipped Lady Kyouji off." she explained. "It's probably fast, but not super fast, so we should be able to handle it as long as we keep our guard up and don't give it a chance to use all of its claws."

Sera Makushima

Being fashionably late? That was her style. Or well, that had been her father's style back in the day, and it had looked hella cool. And Rock Star Lesson number #23 had been 'Always keep 'em waiting, just a little. The anticipation will make you coming out all the more electric.' It had worked before with Koichi, and many many years ago when she was a teen with the others back home. People used to groan and complain about it, but... she was The Daughter of Nyx! Stuff like that didn't matter! ... That was, until her mother scolded her about it. Something about being rude or something. It had been something that was stuck with her though...and as much as she tried to be on time...there was always something keeping her from leaving. (Perhaps even her subconscious trying to just make her late). Too bad she had gotten the time of the meeting wrong, and she had actually gotten there in time.

The pinkette walked towards the group, only to see four of them there. A small frown curled at the corner of her lips, as she pulled her sunglasses down only a bit. "Are we four the only ones coming? This beast shouldn't be much of a threat if we can bring it down on our own." She grinned, before turning to look at the three kids that had gone through the portal of time the first time. It had been two years, but they looked the same as ever. "Ven, Amora, Kuzaku. It's great to see you again." She nodded to Kawari, smiling before turning her eyes to the fog in front of them. She took a sip of her latte, before throwing the empty container away. Yes, she was arriving a few minutes late, with a Starbecks in hand.

"So, are we doing this or what? "

Luna Myonmu, Future-Heroine!
"WaitWaitWait!" A voice called out as Sera asked if it was just the four of them. A figure leapt from a nearby rooftop, sprinting over beside the fog, before skidding to a halt, and waving.
"Heroine Of Justice, Luna Myonmu, is here and ready to fight!" she called out to the others, spinning in a circle, and gesturing like her mother had taught her. It...served no practical purpose, other than to make her, and her dad smile.
"Vennie! Sera! Kawari! Kuzy! Amorabu...Abunda...Amoba...."
She had a biiiit of trouble with the last one's name....but, she knew she wasn't being ignored, at least..right?
"You're all safe! And here! And stuff! Have you met your families yet?"
She beamed...seemingly ignorant of the danger for a bit..Though, she kept on her toes. Fog at this time of day, in this place...was...
Unnatural.

"It will be a challenge I'm sure, Kawari-san."" Venustus remarked, holding Gonyromaru out. "I do not plan to give it any openings."
As he said this though, another face joined them...Sera having arrived.
"Ah! Makushima-sa-" he started, before hearing the other girl call out..Turning as the brown haired girl arrived. He flushed slightly, averting his gaze.
"It's..great to see you again too." he started, politely. "I just..wish it was under calmer, and less strenuous circumstances."

"It's..nothing, Martillo." she snapped at Kuzaku, sounding a bit sharper than usual. The arrival of Sera, and Luna meant it would be easier....
Though, the latter's attempts at saying her name made the girl wince some more.
"I've...met my family." she started, feeling the sensation swelling up in her head. She had been feeling this way for a strange amount of time..Like her time with her father had built up something inside of her...
Something that desperately wanted out.

"Ah..! I've met my family as well." Ven added to Luna, bowing lightly. "They're...every bit as nice as I remember. Even if my father is a bit...different than I expected."
His dad in the future had been no-nonsense, and serious, to the point...
Yet, Shu in this timeline...
'No...I musn't let this bother me.' he thought, gripping his weapon. 'Not when we're about to fight.'

Kuzaku Martillo, the Knight of Azathoth and Kawari Chishio, the Blood Caster

"It's like your mom all over again. We should introduce them." Kawari said, glancing at Kuzaku as Luna came up. His mouth twitched for just a moment, but most of his attention was on Amora.

"As you say, milady." he told the girl, not entirely believing her. She'd always been a bit sharp with others because of her... immense... love for her father, but he was no slouch at paying attention to his teammates. "Still, please rely on us a little more and do not push yourself too hard - I'm sure your father would be very sad if something were to happen to you, and it's important to know your limits, if only to properly challenge them." he slowly straightened, looking back to the rest of the group. "I'm pleased to see you could make it, Lady Sera." he said, giving a small bow in her direction. "Lady Ciela did seem somewhat concerned about its claws, so I do not advise getting close to them - may I suggest focusing on trying to strike it with magic from afar?"

"Kuzaku's met his parents, and my mother. I haven't seen them yet, though - they were out at the moment." Kawari added, answering Luna's question. "I think a few more are still coming, so... what about you, Luna?" she asked, curious about how well the other girl had been doing in making contact.

"Luna chan!" Sera waved at the newcomer, an amused smile on her lips. The girl was an odd one, the pinkette had to accept, but... they weren't a normal group, were they? Starting with Aeon...and taking in consideration there were demons and alchemists and summoners and all kinds of people with weird powers. She guessed...a bit of optimism and cheerfulness wasn't affecting anyone, even if it was grating at times.

It had been two years...two years since she had seen her friends again, and she was happy to see their nerd faces. Ven always acting shy and proper...Kuzaku being overly gentlemanly and extremely formal, Amora being...well...Amora had always been most of a mystery to her. Even so, the pinkette could see something was wrong with the girl. Sera didn't say anything though, by the way she had reacted to Kuzaku...it probably was best to just give her time and space. Kawari and Luna...she had had a little more time to get to know them during those years wandering that wasteland before Koichi found them. Unlike the first group, they had had a more stable 'landing' to this world, to call it something. They had all arrived together, and had only gone their separate ways for a while to take care of personal business. They had agreed of meeting with the others after that, but it was good she was seeing these two right now.

"Oh! I saw my dad last night! In a concert! It was glorious! He was this badass rocker! And I can't believe he was as cool as he said he was! I bumped with my mom there too. I...didn't talk to them, though." she added after a bit, deflating. "It's okay though. I know I'll see them some other time."

She turned to Kuzaku then, nodding to his advice. "Claws. Gotcha."

Luna Myonmu, Future-Heroine!
Luna beamed as the others mused about, being greeted by Sera again. Hearing her go on about her father being a badass rocker as he said he was.
"Really? I'm glad!" she called, happy for Sera to find her own parents were as good as she hoped. At hearing Kawari ask her, she waved her hands.
"Ohhh, Nonono. I haven't had the chance myself! I don't wanna bug em too much, in the past. Maybe look for em one at a time...Might overwhelm em if I met em both, and was like "Hey, I'm your daughter from the future! I hope you two are dating, and stuffs, yeah!'"
She was..a little worried, but not enough for it to show. She nodded at Kuzaku's remark on the being's claws, nodding.
"I'll be careful, Kuzy!" she called, clasping her hand over the armor on her chest. It was something similar to her mother's...and, she was excited to get to use it. She just hoped she'd be able to help everyone else as well.

"I like to think I'm on good terms with my parents.." Venustus remarked lightly, giving a nod to Kuzaku as he advised the group in their future-attack patterns. Something with a vicious melee attack would mean he would have to utilize his own magic..
'I might have to shift to fight..' he thought, hearing Sera talk about her parents. Her dad was a Rock-star, just as he'd heard.....
"I am glad for you too, Sera." Ven mused, bowing slightly.

"I know that, Matrillo." Amora sneered, clearly on razor's edge of her temper. She didn't need the immortal boy's reminder of how dangerous things had been. She'd faced countless perils already in trying to stay with her father...Including the literal end of the world with the Septentriones...
So, hearing him go on and on about how she had to watch her limits was starting to get on her nerves.
'I know my powers better than anyone.' she thought with a scowl, thinking of the being she'd felled herself. A giant monster, that threatened to toxify the whole world.....
Compared to it, a being with claws, and some proverbial change in regards to abilities didn't scare her.
Rather, it just annoyed her...Like the persistent, agonizing headache she had.
"Feels like my head's gonna split open..' she thought, wincing. Her phone flickered slightly at this, before starting to cut out...Without her noticing.

'Thou..art I...

Kuzaku Martillo, the Knight of Azathoth and Kawari Chishio, the Blood Caster

"Yeah, some of them take it better than others." Kawari mused in response to Luna's words. "I think those who are in stable relationships do better, though. I mean, imagine if your mom was dating someone else, and you had to tell her that she was going to give that up soon... ew." That would not be a particularly fun conversation. Fortunately, her own mother was a fairly sensible sort... though a bit mysterious even to Kawari. She hadn't said hello yet, but from what Kuzaku had said, Ennea would almost certainly take it rather well.

Kuzaku, meanwhile, had glanced back over to Amora, an expression of gentle compassion on his face. The girl had been through a lot - he didn't doubt her skill, but if she was this tense before they even got started, he'd definitely have to keep an eye on her and make sure she was all right. She'd probably regret it if she pushed herself so hard she collapsed and worried her father, after all - and alongside that, he simply didn't like seeing ladies hurt. His teacher had hammered that trait into him very thoroughly. "Let's see, the others that should be coming were..." he mused.

Set the Cryomancer, Ex-Future Weapon of the Lin Kuei
"I am not a slave, but never am I free. The chains remain forever, in my memory."

It was a warm reunion between friends, but over the conversation a deafening, yet strained roar echoed from somewhere deep within the mysterious fog. The sounds of steel clashing against something sharp, something hard echoed for a moment, and then a loud crash smashing against the blacktop of the alley could be heard by the group of teens that had come to clean up the mess their journey into the past had allowed to be made. Whatever was happening within the fog was violent, fast-paced, and as their attention was drawn to the clatter within, a single chunk of ice, frozen completely around something that looked like a claw bounced out of the fog and skidded to the ground beneath their feet. And then there was a loud thump upon the street...silence filled the air for several poignant moments thereafter. Something dreadful must have happened within the fog, but without eyes that could see the unseen, one could not be entirely sure what had happened. A siren sounded somewhere, far off in the city...and almost as though the siren were an alarm, the mist began to clear...to paint the picture of what had happened in the meantime while the children of the future talked. And as the picture became clear, they saw it...

...Blood. Icy, frosted blood coated the streets of the alley and the sides of the buildings on either side. Thick, red and black, tinged with white...and the white body of the Kokogiak lay upon the streets stained with its own essence, lifeless...legs severed, eyes dead and soaked with red. And standing next to the body there was a young man, tall and thin...clothes still perfectly white, unstained, though his cheek was splattered with just a few specks of the offending red...until at once the wet stain of red froze over a thick white and fell to the ground with a clatter, crystallized instantly by his power. His frost-blue eyes shimmered beneath the faint light of the sun peeking over the tops of the buildings high above...but his expression was distant, dismissive. It was as though in the carnage he had yet to notice the children of the future arrive.

"Not even a challenge. Utter trash," he scoffed under his breath, taking his foot from atop the body and shifting his cold gaze down the alley, spotting the crowd that had gathered with a look of cold recognition. His lips twitched, but it was hard to tell if it was a smile or something different. He let out a breath just then and straightened his cloak, pristine and perfectly white as always despite the carnage. "Well, well...I didn't expect to meet all of you so soon," he turned entirely towards them now, but looked over his shoulder and made a small motion, as if calling someone out of the shadows, "It's safe. You can come out now. ...Look, Sera's here." There was a hint of familiarity in his tone just then. It was a little...softer, maybe? Or as soft as his tone seemed to get. That could only mean that the person who was with him was...
