New Camera : Photo's Colors Problems

I just bought a new FujiFilm Finepix S2940 a couple of days ago,
The quality of the camera seemed okay and about equal to my old fujifilm f20.
However whenever i uploaded my photos onto my computer they seemed to be lighter almost as if the color was drained out of the photos compared to the preview on the camera itself.
I have never had a problem with color on my old camera,
My father even looked at the photos on his computer and had to adjust his screen to even make the photos look at all like on the camera.
So my question is is this a monitor problem or a camera problem?

I would have to say neither. Camera screens are calibrated differently with a different monitor profile than your computer is. I would have to guess, by the information you've given, that it's your screen.

Camera monitors also behave differently than computer monitors. Sometimes the brightness is "turned up" on the camera screen for easy viewing as well.

If you monitor is calibrated correctly then you should know that what you are seeing on the computer is correct and that you should not trust the screen on the camera. On my monitor which is calibrated your images do not look overly bright. Id even say the image of the dog is a bit under exposed.
