Alice's Dress played __ by __ Yoko_Matsubishi ✘✘✘✘✘✘✘✘✘ ⋙ FOLLOW ME DOWN My name is ⇢ Alice Marie Liddel But you can call me⇢ Most people usually just call me Alice, but my family and good friends have called me Ali on occassion. It's only a number ⇢ 18 I'm not gonna show you ⇢ Female It's who I am ⇢ [ Alice ] ⋙ MOVING WAY TOO SLOW A little bit different ⇢ Depending on how you choose to veiw her, Alice can be a bit unintentionally difficult to understand; on the surface she's very polite if not a little bit akward, always more then willing to say her ma'am's and her yes thank you's with a cheerful smile, but inwardly Alice is extremely insecure and compared to the rest of her family she tends to fade into the background to the point of being shy rather then stand out despite her often being the most recognizable face of the Liddels. Posessing very low, degrading amounts of self esteem, in large crowds and especially around those she is not familliar with Alice is never the first person to start conversation, and even when she does the exchanges are very brief; she doesn't like being in the spotlight and doesn't handle excessive amounts of attention well. However, when around those she is intimately aware of she blossoms, taking on a very adventurous and inqusitive spirt; she's got a suprisingly good sense of humour and is up for trying almost anything. Alice enjoys learning not for the sake of doing so but rather if there is something new to be taught, though she knows when to stop and cut her losses. She might not be the sharpest mind of her generation, but even so Alice knows how to hold her own in a verbal debate, and there are few things she enjoys more then swapping wits with a fellow enthusiast, save for perhaps solving riddles and puzzles for the feel of momentary accomplishment. It happened like this⇢ Alice was raised the third child and youngest daughter of the the Liddell household, with one older brother and her eldest sister Lorina in a fairly well off family that had suffered much tragedy from an early point due to consistant outbreaks of illnesses, scarlet fever among them; despite this her childhood was a pleasant one, often spent exploring with her siblings. For the most part it seemed she would grow up to be a fairly normal, productive member of society..but that all changed when Alice was ten year old; the family, in taking a trip to the local cathedral for Sunday mass, made there the accquaintance of a man by the name of Charles Dodgson who had been photographing that very same cathedral. He integrated himself into the family almost immediatly, becoming a good friend of Alice's father and her older brother Henry in particular; though she was suspicious of him at first, eventually she too became fond of the older gentleman and this fondness lasted well into her teens, where she met the man who would become her boyfriend, a very adventerous, rebellious spirit with a passion for the truth. On the days not spent with her then love intrest, nothing amused Alice more then to hear Dodgson's stories, and one in particular written and dedicated to her by the name of Alice in Wonderland soon became a widely recognized, well recieved peice of literature. It was around that time that things became...strange, for Alice and her family.
Alice's first clue should have been the death of her boyfriend through poisoning, but the blonde refused to believe Dodgson, then pennamed Lewis Caroll, could have done anything to hurt her and the people she was close to. By the time she was seventeen, things had spiraled out of control and for the first time in her life, Alice felt herself completely alone. Caroll seemed to think otherwise, and continued to ask for her hand in marriage in the most surpising of ways, somehow knowing through the relationship she had only just previously been forced out of that the young girl quite enjoyed spontanaity; knowing he couldn't be serious, that he was aware of the age difference (and what an age difference it was), she refused him. How could she have known that the day she decided to pick wildflowers to put on the gravestone of her sister, that the day she was in no mood to be spoken to of relationships would be the day that Caroll finally snapped? The next thing Alice knew, she had awoken in a dress quite different then the one she had been wearing, in the world of the dead with a goal to acheive. And it's a goal she isn't sure she's possible of going through with. ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ Compared to the rest of her family, Alice can be considered grossly undertalented; she's very good at playing the piano and her singing voice is strong, but that's about all she can do. Passing the time ⇢ Reading, Exploring, Taking naps in the sunlight and Picking flowers.. In her life Alice took up a lot of hobbies, but only because her older sister Lorina was good at them and she wanted to be recognized. Yes please ⇢ Large, open spaces, family and friends, small, fuzzy animals, a good book, the smells of rain and vanilla, well prepared tea, wildflowers, puzzles and riddles. She likes to dance, but isn't very good at it. No thank you ⇢ Fancy, high class parties , Lewis Caroll/Charles Dodgson, blood, being compared to her sister, any kind of violence. Music in the mist ⇢ Alice's Theme Welcome to Wonderland Down the Rabbit Hole Garden Party // Owl City In denial ⇢ In her lifetime Alice loved only two people; the first was her boyfriend (Mad Hatter) who was killed of poisoning, and the second (White Rabbit) was struck by a car. She's a bit too frightened of the outcome to start any new relationships . Odds and ends ⇢ To this day Alice still posesses an underlying insecurity complex when compared with the rest of her family, especially her older sister Lorina. She was in ownership of a cat by the name of Dinah, but since falling into Underland she hasn't seen her anywhere.

Fortunately, or; unfortunately, after his tumble down the rabbit hole - that trait has disappeared. Now he's a rather cattish gentleman sort of person; very sly and stealthy, yet polite and sometimes - sometimes - lends a hand. Of course, the people he helps often don't really appreciate it all the time. Really; how can one be helpful when they're spouting (what seems to be) nonsense all the time? It happened like this⇢ Noel is the eldest of four; he has a twin; Kaji - as well as the last brother; Noctis; then the youngest sibling; a sister. Elysabeta. Admittedly, Noel never paid much attention to his younger siblings, and was constantly bugging Kaji; who in turned bickered back and the two usually got into fights. Ultimately, their parents decided to stop the two and in a fateful game of rock, paper, scissors (it should be noted it took a full five minutes to get the two to unwillingly play). It wasn't until after when the two brothers found out that the winner would be shipped able to go to a boarding school on the far side of London. In the end, it was probably a good thing, since Kaji missed meeting Charles Dodgson, and therefore; was spared the chaos and insanity and death that followed afterward.
Noel's death didn't happen until after Lorina, Noctis and Elysabeta's passing. In fact, it was only a few days after the funeral for his younger siblings was he then found dead in his room, where he hanged himself. ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ Noel is a painter, and one can see parts of his unfinished work on various trees and the occasional hopping lamppost in Underland. Not to mention in true, Cheshire Cat fashion, he is able to turn himself invisible. Passing the time ⇢ Spinning the Crossroad Signs. Yep. Well, that and confusing people or dozing off. Yes please ⇢ The White Rabbit, March Hare, and the Duchess. No thank you ⇢ The Jabberwocky, being petted Music in the mist ⇢ Bad Apple! In denial ⇢ Dreams of innocence depends on denial of reality. Odds and ends ⇢ Noel's hair tends to change colors every now and then... It should also be noted that in certain light his eyes may turn yellow

He's not at all mean; just too cool for you. He's intelligent and wise beyond the years of his older brothers combined. He's very sensible, but has a tendency to be unwillingly dragged into arguments. Calling Noctis a bookworm is probably the best understatement of the century day. He's always seen with a book on him somewhere and reading wherever and whenever he can.
Noctis is quite the anti-social one - and quite cold to strangers and can be quite the blushing mess if ever encountered by a girl. The best way I can explain this is an igloo; a thick ice-cold shell (his odd combination of stoic and polite), in an ice-cold world. Stuck alone inside in an attempt to be warm somehow; he should needs to let someone in, but that also includes chipping away at the wall to make a hole; and who knows what might happen.
Back when he was alive, Noctis was quite the busybody - rushing here and there, running errands, big and small - usually with a book in hand. Granted - he doesn't do that in Underland anymore - but if startled; he will take off faster then you can blink. It happened like this⇢ Noctis was the youngest son of the Lagil family, and was obviously the studious one. From a young age, he would gladly shut himself in his room to read. As he grew older, so did his book collection - and classes. He was a little put out that his parents sent Kaji away to boarding school - but it did mean that the house was quieter for his odd study habits.
Soon enough, Noctis became quite the busy one in his family. College applications were around the corner and he was rushing around - tutors, libraries, classes, anything to aim him into a high prestigious university. Unfortunately for him, Noctis never noticed Alice Liddel, who was watching him from afar. He did get in, and started getting busier. In fact, on the day he died, Noctis was on his way to receive his report card from the school counselor. He went into a coma and was sent to the hospital. He never did wake up, or see who the driver of that car was. ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ When he was alive, Noctis was quite swift and elusive (despite his frail appearance). This has carried over into Underland. Passing the time ⇢ Reading Yes please ⇢ the March Hare, Cheshire Cat, being left alone No thank you ⇢ Loud noises, people annoying him Music in the mist ⇢ Rolling Star In denial ⇢ Got no time for that. She can come off as slightly rude and downright blunt, and she seems to have no trouble going against authority figures. Once she warms up to you, you`ll find her a mischevious and daring girl with a heart of gold. Elyse is actually quite nice (despite her abnormal strength for a girl of her size). She doesn`t resort to violence unless someone ticks her off. Act first, think later. As impulsive as she is, Elysabeta knows her limits and will step away in consideration of others. If she thinks it`s necessary to be harsh to someone to wake them up, she will do it. Elysabeta hates people who give up easily or doesn`t care for themselves. She avoids unhappy crowds as much as possible, and loves to have fun at parties (which easily explains why she`s always found at the Mad Hatter`s table). She seems to have a habit of chucking cups and spoons as passerbys, and even at people who join their table. Elysabeta doesn`t like being pitied, and she prefers working things out by herself. Stubborn, much? For her, having fun and trying her best at what she wanted to do was the one thing most important to her. She can be rather bold with her actions, having no issues with pinching other people`s cheeks or calling them cute. It happened like this⇢ Elysabeta was born third to an existing family of four. She was always the wild child, unlike her cunning eldest brother and the intelligent Noctis. Elyse did not score too high in the academic level, but she was talented in music. No, just because she loved music did not mean her intelligence soared. She spent too much time running away from her books. Elysabeta loved outdoors instead, running about and doing things that scared everyone to death. Most of the time though, she`d be content with a guitar in hand and singing along to whatever song she composed. At a young age, Elysabeta was the rebellious teenager, going out with friends (partying) and not the best student of school. Instead of being stuck at home studying, you could easily find her climbing walls and going off somewhere. She mildly knew of the Liddel family, but she never was quite one for masses and long boring family bonding sessions. It was only after Alice began taking interest in Noctis that Elysabeta began to notice the blonde girl some more.
Of course, she`d read Caroll`s Alice`s Adventures in Wonderland and thought it had been an interesting, if not nonsense, sort of story. Sure, she thought the guy was genius, like everyone else. Elysabeta did not quite think that the charming author could be the murderer of all those people, but it didn`t help that he had some sort of obsession with the girl who was infatuated with her own brother. Elysabeta had been out with friends again on the day of the accident. The most plausible explanation was that someone had spiked her drinks, because when she stumbled into that car, she did not put the seatbelt on. Elyse had debated the idea several times before, but cared slightly more about her survival. But on that fateful day, with the drug in her drink in her system, Elysabeta drove off without a seatbelt. And like a drunk driver, she zigzagged acrossed the lanes. Well, she certainly did not see the figure of her brother on the street when she collided with him. It didn`t quite help that she wasn`t wearing a seatbelt, and the black that seized her was quite...frightening. The first thing that came to her mind when she woke up was that a splitting headache was tormenting her. Stupid drugs. ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ Surprisingly, for her rather small frame, Elysabeta is very strong. She`s also extremely agile and quick - running and jumping fences tended to do that to people. Passing the time ⇢ Throwing things, trying something new, scaring people to death, playing the guitar, singing, dancing, and running from angry people Yes please ⇢ Tea parties, music, new people, Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit, her guitar, sweets No thank you ⇢ Books, studying, orange juice (this was the drink that was spiked), being called a "rabbit" Music in the mist ⇢ How Far We`ve Come In denial ⇢ Elysabeta has a mild interest in the Mock Turtle, who fascinates her with his gentle manners. Of course, it`s just a rather unhealthy fascination. Odds and ends ⇢ Elysabeta is slightly forgetful. If she`s missing anything, she`d tell you later on.

It's only a number ⇢ Twenty one I'm not gonna show you ⇢ Male It's who I am ⇢ [ Mad Hatter ] ⋙ MOVING WAY TOO SLOW A little bit different ⇢ Sage had been a nice young gentleman...once in his life. When he was alive, anyways. He was ambitious and witty, always one for adventure and always dragging his friends and Alice into hair-raising situations; though he'd always find a way to get them out more or less unharmed with a laugh on his lips. Passionate and rebellious, he was always one to search for the truth, even if it meant people would hate him. He was always seen with a smile and a word of comfort; a willing ear and a shoulder to cry on. He was also very loyal; as Alice's boyfriend, he loved her and only her. Though he was often obsessed with his work, he loved Alice more. He was very trusting of people who gave him reason to trust them.
But after his death, many things changed. From an easy going, smiling person, Sage grew bitter and sarcastic. He was alone until many others started popping up in his world, which he named Underland; and he kept to himself then, save a few he let close to him. His adventurous spirit remained, though it became twisted and wrong, gaining a sadistic edge to it. He is still also very ambitious, though he is currently content with being the lord of his manor and not having anything to do with that queen or that duchess...though he'd prefer the duchess to the queen any time. He could now care less for 'truth' because in Underland, 'truth' doesn't exist. He holds himself with a kind of mature air, dispassionate about everything, and very difficult to rile up. He doesn't trust new comers easily and wouldn't care if they got themselves lost in the forest; he can't be bothered to while he's just having tea-time. It happened like this⇢ Sage was born into a family of journalists, but at first he hated the profession, not wanting to follow in his family's footsteps. He was the middle child, with an older brother who became a lawyer, and a younger sister who wished to become a teacher. However, his childhood was not an easy one, and at a young age he fell in with people from the wrong side of the tracks. However, reality was very rudely shoved back onto him while his brother was killed by one of his so called 'friends' and the police covered it up. Desperate to uncover the truth to the public, Sage became a journalist. Later, he would be able to find enough evidence to bring his brother's murder into light; and that was where his passion for writing truly started. It was through this passion that he would run into Alice, the girl whom he would fall heads over heels for. And it was then that Sage finally felt that his life was complete. He had a job that he liked, a girl that he loved who loved him back; what else could he ask for?
However, he was about to realize that everything was not all sunshine and sparkles.
He had formerly enjoyed reading Alice in Wonderland, but he grew suspicious when he heard that Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Caroll) had written it for Alice. He found out about Charles' obsession with Alice, and he grew furious. And his one greatest mistake was to confront Charles about it. He threatened Charles, and the writer knew that he would follow on that threat; he was a journalist after all, and people believed everything journalists wrote. Weeks later, the unsuspecting journalist received a gift: a beautiful raven-feathered pen. But he would never get to use it, because the moment he picked it up, the poison coating the feather would seep into him, strangling his heart and killing him.
When Sage woke up again, he was in a different world; dark and twisted and gloomy. He was approached by a man in a pin-striped suit who called himself the Caterpillar and he was given the 'name' of an 'Alice'. He was told that he was dead, and that he was in Underland; and even though he was left on his own, Sage was quick to realize that to survive, he'd have to play by his own rules. Life in Underland made him callous and twisted. He staked out his own land, becoming obsessed with hats and tea; all the while waiting for that moment to find the Vorpol blade and strike the Jabberwocky down. Deep, deep, down he knows he is not the Alice to do it, but a madman can wish, can't he? ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ Sage has a very good arm, and his aim is alarmingly wicked, even when he's under pressure. Passing the time ⇢ Throwing tea-cups at March, ducking any tea-cups thrown back at him, drinking tea, tea-time, reading, throwing knives at the twins when they annoy him Yes please ⇢ Black Tea, tea, cakes, No thank you ⇢ Birds (mostly ravens), the Jabberwocky (though he's only ever seen it twice before), writing Music in the mist ⇢ Badbye - Mi-chan Mad Tea Party Hatter In denial ⇢ Ha, of course not! Alice Liddel Odds and ends ⇢ Sage hates all birds, ravens especially, so he lets the twins do whatever they want to any birds that land in his garden. He's also picked up a rather bad habit of smoking, something he had hated while he was alive because his former 'friends' used to do it. He's also always losing his hat (or just forgetting where he put it, because most of the time its' on his head).

Mischievious and troublesome, the two love to stir up trouble and chaos wherever they are, making a mess and causing chaos. They're playful and fun, and always up to play a game (though recently their games are little more dangerous than one would like). They aren't exactly bright, but don't tell them that! The twins have quite the temper. Especially against each other. They rarely fight amongst themselves, but when they do, they really go at it. Both have learned it isn't beneficial for them to fight, so not much sets them off against one another. There are slight differences between the two, however. Even though both can be considered daring, Sei is more so than Sora. And in reterospect, Sora is the more violent, often shown when they beat the birds for the Hatter. Still, the twins are generally harmless and free-spirited, only wanting someone to play with. It happened like this⇢ While alive, Sei and Sora were orphans. They grew up as street urchins, living in the back alleys and less desirable places of towns. They stuck to the shadows, and stole to survive. They looked out for no one but each other. Their loner attitudes kept away the other kids like them, which was why they never got in too much trouble, other than for stealing and such.
They met Alice by chance one day, bumping into her and using her to outwit the grumpy old man they were outrunning for stealing from. They forced her to act like they'd been standing there the entire and conversing, tricking him into running right past them. Of course, Alice wasn't happy they stole, but she seemed not to mind them all the same. Sei was attached right away, unwilling to leave her, even at his sister's urging. He (and subsequently, Sora) sought her out time and time again, and eventually, Sora began to like her, too. The two grew quite protective, and didn't like other people coming around their Alice. Her boyfriends were bad enough, but that Lewis guy always drove them nuts.
Finally, they confronted him, but Lewis was smarter. He enlarged the issue of who Alice liked better, Sei or Sora. Both claimed it to be themselves, and thus the two really went at each other. The fight escalated as they raced to ask Alice herself, but on the way, they both happened across guns. In their desperation, the two similtaniously shot themselves, and died in the streets.
When they opened their eyes again, they were in Underland. Neither had much interest in being 'Alice'; they were much more concerned with finding out where they were and how to leave. But, like all other residents of Underland, they eventually went mad. The twins ended up with the Hatter. It's much more fun, with him. Dodging knives, killing birds, drinking tea! Who would want to be a stupid Alice anyway? ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ Both are very acrobatic and are often seen doing flips and twists and tumbles and rolls, using the other as a springboard or obstacle. Most would swear they also have a talent to annoy people, as they tend to pop up whenever you least want them to and do not leave until you make them (the Hatter prefers to throw knives, for example). Passing the time ⇢ Eating cupcakes, annoying the Hatter, killing crows and other birds, annoying people, dodging the Hatter's knives, spying on people Yes please ⇢ The Hatter, tea, tea time, sweets throwing things, breaking things, running rampant, annoying people, acrobatics, Alice No thank you ⇢ Birds, the rain, getting hurt, losing, being interupted, being seperated, fighting Music in the mist ⇢ Hey Hey - Superchic[k] In denial ⇢ Both are quite in love with Alice; she is the only thing they seriously fight over. It's only a number ⇢ Twenty I'm not gonna show you ⇢ Female It's who I am ⇢ The Duchess ⋙ MOVING WAY TOO SLOW A little bit different ⇢ Lorina is a very kind and generous soul. She almost always has a soft smile on her face and welcoming look in her eyes. She's an extremely empathetic person, and can never turn away someone in need. She loves company and making others smile, though this is mostly because deep down, she wants to be liked. Lorina has a deep seeded need to be liked and to make others happy. This contributes to her anxiety and nervous break downs. If she thinks she's done something wrong or has let someone down in some way or another, she'll often have a panic attack from the guilt and fear of rejection from them. When she was alive, she merely had 'weak nerves'; she couldn't handle strenuous situations, and spent some time in bed. Now, in Underland, she frequently collapses; anything from making a decision of what to eat to spilling tea on her floor to stumbling over her words when speaking to someone can cause her to go into a fit. While in such a fit, she often becomes very violent towards herself, hitting and insulting herself. She can convince herself that no one likes her because she it stupid and useless. If alone when it happens, she'll go until she collapses. When she wakes, she's back to normal. Only the Cheshire Cat can coax her back to her less mad self, the self that is kind and polite and, ironically, light-hearted. It happened like this⇢ As the eldest in the Liddel, Lorina had much to live up to. Not that she minded much; the Liddels were wonderful people, and never put any more pressure on their daughter than they thought she could take. in fact, it was Lorina herself that insisted on learning to do so many things. The more she learned to do, the more well liked she seemed to be. And Lorina liked being liked. She liked to make her parents and friends smile. She grew up to be very beautiful as well, and attracted much attention in that field, too. Still, she only had eyes for her younger sister, and loved to coddle little Alice.
Upon meeting Charles, Lorina never much minded him. At first, his liking for Alice was cute. She supposed he was more like an uncle to her young sister. However, when he started becoming obsessed with her, Lorina took issue. She would purposely take Alice somewhere, or force her little sister to spend time with her, if only to keep her away from him. Often times she did this when her nerves were particularily bad. Lorina had always been of 'weak nerves', and often times would spend a day or so in bed. These days she'd have Alice read to her with the window open.
One day, when Alice was already out, Lorina opened her window and rested in bed for the day. She fell asleep before she could close it, however. She never even heard Charles as he crept into her room and smothered her with a pillow. ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ While alive, Lorina was taught to cook, clean, play piano and violen, sing, dance, sew, and her friend (now the Cheshire Cat) had been teaching her to paint right before she died. Those talents followed her to Underland. She is also a wonderful hostess, and loved to have company over. Especially since then she can show of her wonderous gardens. Passing the time ⇢ Cooking, gardening, reading, music making, anything to keep her boredom at bay, since she does live alone (except for when Ches is there, and not at the signpost). Yes please ⇢ Flower of any kind, sweets, tea, people, small animals, parties No thank you ⇢ Violence, death, heights, her frequent collapses, her anxiety Music in the mist ⇢ Hand to Hold - Superchic[k] In denial ⇢ The Cheshire Cat is really her only company, so she's taken quite a liking to him. She died her hair pink to match the crazy colors of his own. Odds and ends ⇢ For safety reasons, Lorina has spread out various soft things on the floors of her home; pillows, stuffed animals, blankets and such. It's for when she's alone and she collapses. This way, it won't hurt so much and she can be a bit more comfy when she wakes up. The only room without such things is the sitting, because that is strictly for company.

A dreamer. He could get lost in thought that no one else could, his mind wandering into bizarre and wonderful thoughts. His eyes would light up when he had an idea, in such a childishly hopeful way. He would always throw himself into whatever he was doing fully and completely, embracing the good and bad. However, as each and every brilliant idea he had was overshadowed by Carroll, the light in his eyes dimmed. But it stayed valiant, he took up smoking, and as books sales of his plummeted, he also took up drinking. His book ideas spiraled darker and darker, still works of genius, enough to rip the heart out of the most steely reader. But by then, he had none. He wrote until the last moment of his life. Bags under his eyes documented his lack of sleep, a twitch for the stress, a loose tie he many times considered a noose. He is now possibly mad, though after death he retains the childish trusting and honesty. He switches subjects quickly, sometimes revealing a blinding stroke of genius, just enough of a glimpse before the curtain of madness sets back in. He isn't near as mad as the hatter, as he doesn't unpredictably switch between moods of all ranges. It's only between depression, hope, happiness, and a neutral. He has never honestly gotten mad, ever. Just sad. He is kind to everyone, and becomes caring and protective of people almost immediately, as he wishes for them to be better off than him. It's hard to tell whether he's given up on life or not. He tries to keep his emotions to himself, though he fails horribly. Honestly, though, when surrounded by nonsense, he finds he can lose himself and actually become very animated and happy. Considered he never really went outside much, he enjoys company greatly. It happened like this⇢ He grew up with his Father, a writer. However, his father was stricken by a strange illness that weakened him each day when Russ was around 7. He grew up caring for him, typing out stories by day and reading them to his father by night. Just the look of joy on his fathers face kept Russ up and running the next day. They had next to nothing in belongings, just a quaint little house with one bathroom, one house, and one living room. But it didn't matter to Russ, his time was consumed by writing and enjoying his Dad's company when he was awake. He sometimes attended school, when he had free time. Russ was mainly cared for by his Aunt, who would stop by every other day. She would patiently sit by Russ, contentedly watching him type his heart out. Years went by, his little fingers growing along with his intellect. Somehow, even from his few days of attendance he memorized everything, it helped that he had an extremely large amount of books that lined the wall of the living room, practically every subject. However, one night, when he was 15, while reading his father to sleep as usual, his father interrupted. Russ leaned in close, and heard his dad murmur, "Don't ever stop writing, i love you." Russ was confused, but kept reading the rest of the story, as his dad kept the familiar smile on his lips.
The next morning he didn't wake up. Russ didn't mourn, he knew his dad would have wanted him to march on. Plus, it was a long time coming. He kept writing, his passion unequaled, his books selling moderately well. He would get letters from young people, telling him his uplifting stories had helped them out of depression. No amount of money could replace that feeling. However, as his books' sales dwindled, another author caught his attention, the Mr.Carroll. Everything went downhill from there. He spiraled into depression, as his fathers wish was slowly and painfully decimated. He started smoking, drinking, sleeping in the same bed his father had. Until then he had slept at the foot of it, sometimes believing he could feel the heat of his father. Russ got nightmares, he would wake up screaming, in a cold sweat. The nightmares slowly outnumbered and then completely overpowered the dreams. Sometimes it would be his father, crying, or shaking his head, sometimes it would be his house caving in, or Lewis Carroll's laughing face chasing him everywhere, no escape. Russ' aunt died later that year, and it was the last straw. His last nightmare was of flames, everywhere, engulfing him. He actually considered it a dream, not a nightmare. In that dream, he had no more pain, just a serene feeling of being free.
And with a strike of the match the next morning, a swig of a bottle, a clutched hand around a locket around his neck, and a deep breath from a cigarette, all of his work, his books, everything went up in flames. Including him. He felt a tear roll down his face, and land upon his smiling lips.
However, he woke up, perhaps an hour or two later. He was somewhere new, and met by the Caterpillar. He was struck by how familiar it all seemed, then it hit him, the twisted fate of it all. He was in the Book. That ruined his life. He quickly accepted his fate, the only thing keeping him sane the last few seconds of his life when he had truly felt happy and a locket he had died with, a picture of his father in it and a young self sitting happily at a typewriter. He slowly lost his mind, wandering through Underland. Fascinated yet hating every moment. He couldn't socialize for too long with anyone, though at different lengths. If he stays too long he starts to burn up, though it quickly stops if he just douses himself with water. The fact that he is living in what caused his death somehow loops and makes his death happen again, causing little patches of flame to start up. Dousing also works with tea. Any liquid really. ⋙ CLOCK KEEPS TICKING Look what I can do ⇢ He can occasionally breathe fire, he can't get drunk Passing the time ⇢ Drinking, smoking, blowing smoke rings, wandering, murmuring poetry, helping others Yes please ⇢ Vanilla Cake, People to talk to, Hot Chocolate, Cold Weather, Deep Conversations, Intellectual People, Tea, being surrounded by happiness / nonsense No thank you ⇢ Lewis Carroll, Sleeping, Music in the mist ⇢ demons- imagine dragons In denial ⇢ None at the Moment, subject to change at a seconds notice Odds and ends ⇢ He always smells like paper or wood burning
