Noticing the scene happening, Aaron looked away from the grave - both grateful and enraged by the distraction - and moved to Nikolai. "What's happening? What's wrong?"
"Someone didn't like me, so Leon is escorting them away. I'm sorry for the trouble." he said as he looked away from the yelling woman to Aaron.
The author nodded slowly. "Oh... Maybe I should get-"
"Ah, no, it's quite alright." assured Nikolai. He had a feeling that whatever Leon was doing wasn't something that should be seen. "I'm sure she'll learn her lesson, hmm?"
Aaron looked from the Sin to the area Leon and the lady went, no longer in sight. He stayed silent for a moment then nodded in agreement. "Yes, I suppose you're right." he conceded. He exchanged a few words with the Sin before looking down at his watch. It was time to leave. He couldn't stay here any longer. He said his farewell to Nikolai then walked off.
Nikolai waved the author off, giving him a pitiful smile. He then turned back to look to where Leon ran off to. He wasn't sure if he was imagining things, but Leon seemed very different earlier. He was very cold. Granted that's normal when people give them hard times, but there was something... sinister about it. Nikolai grabbed his arm, rubbing the brand beneath his sleeve. He couldn't shake off this bad feeling.
Feeling a tug at his coattail, Nikolai looked over to see Aysun standing behind him. He smiled tiredly at the little boy and ushered him to get closer.

It was about fifteen minutes until Leon finally returned to the grave site. He dusted his hands off, clearing his throat and reaching to adjust his hair. The woman was nowhere in sight, her companions already looking for her, but Leon hardly cared. Approaching his family, he tucked his hands into his pockets and offered a caring smile. "Come on, let's get something to eat," he suggested, nodding his head over to where their car was. He paused, looking around. "Wait, has Aaron left already?" asked the teacher, glancing to the side. In a split second, a tiny scratch could be seen on his neck. It hadn't been there before.

Nikolai himself wondered what had happened to the woman, he didn't see her leave from that area like Leon did. He decided to ignore it as he answered Leon's question. "Yes, he was-" Nikolai stopped immediately as he caught the scratch. He reached out quickly to press his thumb against Leon's neck, right underneath the cut. So he wasn't imagining things. "Why do you have a scratch?" Nikolai asked quietly as he looked around for more.

"Huh?" Leon's hand followed his husband's, touching the scratch. It was the only of his kind on his body, since he was careful as usual, but he couldn't really explain it away. Well, he could try. "That angry woman tried to claw away from me after I escorted her away," he said simply, shrugging. "I guess she got me. Come on, I'm hungry."

But Nikolai refused to budge. "Why did she go for the neck, then? And the side, too." he muttered quietly as he examined the scratch again. He looked Leon in the eyes expectantly, waiting to see any emotion show. There was something off about him, and he was going to get to the bottom of it.

He shrugged. "I don't know. She's old. Probably thought it would get me away from her." It was true, more or less. The woman had fought as much as she could, but she was rather frail, so it wasn't hard to kill her.

"Hmm." Nikolai answered, clearly not believing it. "I find that quite hard to believe, dearie. If that was the case then she would've at least smacked me. It's almost as if... she was trying to stop something." His eyes became more intense as he observed Leon's face. "Have you any idea why that could be, darling?"

"I was dragging her away, Nikolai. Way more physical with her than you were." Rolling his eyes, he leaned down to adjust Aysun's tie. "Let it go, Nikolai. Why are you pursuing this, anyway?" Standing upright, he crossed his arms and stared at Nikolai, trying to decipher if his cover was blown.

"Yes, but I fail to see how that would explain a scratch in this particular spot. Usually one would go for the face or the arm, hmm?" Nikolai shook his head and put one hand on his hip. "Being a gossip, I've never been one for secrets, and seeing you hide one from me is quite agitating. Now I've had a long day, mind you, so I'm not in the mood to play along any longer, dearie. Tell me the truth." His lime green eyes shined. "Let's start with Maggie."
Aysun looked back and forth between the two. Were they having a fight? They didn't look happy, but they weren't as loud as they usually were when they got into fights. There was a weird feeling in the air, and the little boy found himself holding his breath in anticipation for what would happen next.

Now there was a name he hadn't been expecting. The surprise was visible on his handsome face, wrinkles crinkling his forehead as he stared at Nikolai, his aura darkening. "What about her?" he asked, his eyes stone and his tone cold. He didn't like where this was headed, and he made sure that it was known.

However, Nikolai didn't react - He either didn't notice or didn't care. "She's gone." he said plainly. "She stopped appearing in the Council, her name was even erased. Granted I assumed she had been dismissed, but that changed when I happened to pay a visit to the Reincarnation Center, where I saw her name listed. And it just so happens that you were the last person to be with her." He looked relaxed, but there was something strange about Nikolai's stance. He was ready to strike. "You didn't think I wouldn't notice these things, did you, dearie?"

He was silent. So, it appears that his secret's out. Funny, he pictured Nikolai being less upset and more relieved. After all, he was systematically removing all those that had opposed them. Who wouldn't be happy about that? Turns out, Nikolai. Leon's hands fell to his sides, fingers curling into fists. "What, so you can kill a myriad of souls, but I can't harm one? I'm a man, not a saint." Glancing to Aysun, he gently nudged the boy towards a smoking Kiyaka. "Go to Auntie Kiyaka, ask her to take you home. Uncle Nikolai and I need to have an adult discussion."

"I had no control. I also don't happen to be a Neutralisa." the Sin pressed.
Aysun looked back and forth between the two once more then gave them both an unsure look. "Are you two fighting again?" he mumbled as he lifted his thumb to nervously bite the nail.
"Of course not, dearie." gently smiled Nikolai. "I merely need to remind your uncle of something. Shouldn't take too long, so be a good boy, hmm?"
Unconvinced but knowing he couldn't do anything, Aysun nodded and walked towards Kiyaka. Maybe she would have some answers.
Once Aysun was out of earshot, Nikolai asked quietly, "So how many souls, exactly, did you take?"

Leon dug his heel into the dirt, shaking his head as Aysun finally left. "As many as needed," he answered, looking down at the ground. "They were in the way, Nikolai. Fate kept trying to intervene, so I took matters into my own hands. You can't honestly say you're up for dealing with another person trying to separate us."

A tired expression showed on Nikolai's face as he shifted his weight from one leg to the next, resting a hand against his hip. "Well I can understand your logic, though that's all I can do, I'm afraid. I believe you've taken this too far. That lady, for instance, was not against our relationship, I'm sure. I don't know how many others have had the misfortune of convincing you that they were Fate's Accomplice, but there won't be more. Do you know what I'm saying, dearie?" Purple snakes coiled around his legs, hissing eagerly at Leon. "I don't plan on harming that gorgeous face of yours, but I'll keep you numb until you're back to your senses. Don't worry, I'll be oh-so gentle~" Nikolai grinned as he flickered his wrist, sending the snakes shooting forward.
