Mayah Playah
Nikolai tossed all his thoughts together to try and figure out a solution to this mess. How could he steel himself? Could he fight from a distance? No, it was still an attack that he'd hesitate to execute. What about using more snakes? No, Leon was too fast. He was probably too fast for that marionette trick. What about- Nikolai's eyes widened. He looked down at his hand, staring hard at it. Complete Apathy. Could it...? Nikolai gulped thickly, his throat suddenly feeling dry as he watched his claws lengthen. This might not work, he might end up killing himself. But this was his only chance.
With his claws glowing, Nikolai took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He swung his hand towards his face, but the claws went through his head, taking a transparent part of Nikolai with it. It was like watching a spirit leave a body, but his claws kept a tight grip on the transparent side, getting tighter still until - CRASH - it shattered into millions of pieces.
Nikolai's hand fell to his side, and the man stayed standing in a slumped position with his head hanging forward. Finally, he tilted his head back. His eyes were empty.
Nikolai looked around. What an unusual feeling. No, that wasn't it. He had no feeling. There was no relief of his move working without numbing everything he had; there was no apprehension of fighting Leon; there was no thrill, no confusion, no interest. Nothing. His mind was a lot clearer now, only listing what he needed to do, and the top of that list was hunting Leon.
Nikolai looked around. No way to find Leon as is, so he'd better flush him out. The Sin stretched out one arm and swung it to the side. The ground shook slightly and a massive sandstorm began to roll in. No, it wasn't a storm. It was his purple fog crashing into the small forest to flush Leon out.
Nikolai didn't react. His expression didn't change from its robotic apathy. He wanted to find Leon, he wanted to attack him. It wasn't to save any of them.
It was because of instinct.
