Grr I was blogging out a long run through of my day and then windows decided to do a reboot.

So instead of a tedius play by play, now you only get the much more logical fast play.

temp was 98f, decided to check out the casinos in the area. The main ones are ~2.7 miles away with little cover on the sidewalk.

Walked it anyway. Pretty hot, what the cabby said about the area being kinda dodgey may be kinda true due to blood drops/patches in a couple different area *shrugs* and the lack of footpath in large sections.

The casinos were boring but provided some much needed AC cooling down before the journey back home. (Now it was low hundreds)

The fast food stores were starting to look appealing as a place to get a drink as I could tell dehydration was setting in...since things were getting a little wavery. But I kept on keeping on...until I got to the walgreens near my suite and grabbed some water and soda.

Kinda hazy I got back in, turned on the ac and slammed a couple glasses of A&W, poured some flavouring into a one gallon water bottle and put that in the freezer and had a quick cold shower, quick because wasting water in the dessert just dosent seem right.

Looked in the mirror, noticed my whiteness has lessened...and wondered if I will be getting a farmers tan.

So anyone else like walking ~5 miles in 100f heat? I love long walks and hikes but I preffer it below 70 myself, and even then I preffer cover.

yep about 10 mins down the path from where I am atm, and then about another 30 mins after that again.

Yeah I love hiking in mild temps...even cold.

The sun burns are already starting to show, but Im keeping it moisturised.

I love that video!

Skin cancer, collagen and elastin damage, damage to the melanocytes... our skin does not like getting too much sun.

I have a sunburn from one day when I went to the beach. This burn is the outline of part of my hand because I slapped some extra sunscreen on one shoulder for fun and stayed in the sun too long. Proof that sunscreen works to some degree.

I don't like the cold, but I don't think I like 100-degree heat with 80+% humidity. Dry heat in Vegas does not seem so bad.

Sage, you should know better than to not hydrate while outside in Vegas in the summer. That's like asking to pass out. Which is generally bad.

yeah coldness is good

@Blue as epic as that would be...skin is something worth looking after

@Deno Sunscreen really does, Although NZ is mild, we can still get sunburns through full cloud cover...since we have the ozone hole above us. We have some of the most brutal sun burn wise...just not heat wise.

But I still preffer it under 70.

@Gold Yeah...Im just not motivated to make good choices atm. I know, Im a big fan of water.

@Gold Yeah...Im just not motivated to make good choices atm. I know, Im a big fan of water.

I've been there...I recall times where I thought, "I'm kinda hungry. But what's the point?" Then I would just end up eating later. Though I did kinda have this vague notion of not eating anymore if they ever tried to deploy me... ninja

Thankfully that never happened!
