~::Mayonaka Arena - P1-Grand Prix::~ Yasogami High(?) (Rooftop) - Inside the TV A strange replica of the Yasogami High School campus inside the television, travel throughout the school is much more difficult due to invisible barriers preventing easy access to other areas of the school. Though it appears similar to the actual school on the outside, running through the hallways can seem to go on forever, and just when it seems as though you're on the right track, the invisible walls block your path and redirect you to wherever the person holding the tournament wishes you to go. And all throughout the building there is a pervasive air of danger, a heavy feeling not unlike the television world's fog or the atmosphere in the Dark Hour. Innocent it may look, but dangerous it most certainly is...and with monitors and a PA system lining nearly every nook and cranny of the school, it's clear that somebody not only wants to see what's going on throughout the event...but they want everyone else to know that they are watching, too. Why? Because the ongoing event at the school is the P1-Grand Prix! A desperate fighting program pitting friend against friend in combat until the one true champion is revealed! Who is behind it and why they put together such an elaborate event is the mystery everyone is trying to solve...but only one person can reach the summit and discover the truth! It's Investigation Team versus Investigation Team, but they're not the only ones inside the TV...the only question is, which one will still be standing when it's over?!
...
This battleground is located on the roof of Yasogami High School, but rather than the usual view there is something even more familiar to the members of the investigation team...the lobby of the Mayonaka TV World; monitors line the walls, and strange, shadow-like creatures line the outskirts of the area as though they were an audience. They feel like shadows, but what they truly are is unknown...could they be shadows? Shades? Wraiths? Something more?
Win your battle and you may find out, but only the winner can move on! Will you be the victor? Quote: *~:: P1-Grand Prix [Round 1] ::~*

Itachi the Scorpion"Yikes, this place seems more like a maze than a school. I don't know how I'm suppose to observe anything when I'm trapped in here like this." The Messenger tapped the back of his fist against the doorway, or well...though it looked like a doorway, it seemed like he couldn't leave again now that he'd come in. It wasn't that surprising given the explanation the commercial had about fighting your way to the top, but what he really didn't expect was the unusual nature of the other person in the room. Really, the reason he'd turned and tried to head straight for the exit was because the moment he saw the heavy coat she was wearing flutter, he'd realized that underneath it wasn't the light color of skin, but the shiny carapace of metal. Now however, it looked like he wasn't going to be able to leave until the two of them locked eyes and then...well, it wasn't like he felt too bad about what he might have to do after that. "I wonder why the bear would arrange something like this anyways. I thought they were all friends." He was mostly speaking to himself, but that ceased when the image appeared on the monitor and a lot of music and noise filled the air, addressing the android across from him rather than the Messenger. At first, anyways. As he looked deeper into the bear's eyes on the monitor though, his brows furrowed into a sneer, and a weasel's smile appeared on his face. "No, wait a minute...that ain't the bear at all. Looks like this is pretty interesting." Itachi reached into his pocket, sliding a gauntlet on as he prepared his special weapon. His master didn't mention if it would work alright on a robot, but it looked like he was going to find out first hand, whether he liked it or not. So much for observation, huh? What bullshit. "Hey, you! I want to make it out of here, so I suggest you roll over and let me 'defeat' you. I'm just an innocent bystander, alright? You wouldn't hurt someone who's been swallowed up by accident and drug here, would you?" Itachi pulled his left hand out of his pocket and pointed a finger accusingly at Aigis, walking a fine line between playing the helpless victim and just antagonizing her to hasten her desire to fight. Either way he didn't show his power or weapon, but if this girl was like the mechas in an anime or something, she probably had all sorts of sensors that were blaring off the wall. Still, it was worth a shot to see if she'd back down...if he was lucky, maybe she even had one of those 'Three Law' things, or some such s**t. It'd make things a lot easier if he could beat her but she couldn't touch him.

Soji Seta, The Sister Complex Kingpin of Steel and Teddie, The Beast in Heat "...Show me a hero, and I'll write you a tragedy..."Falling into the TV had never been like that before; the feeling of lurching and losing control, of his consciousness being jumbled and the loss of the companionship of his friends along the way were all out of the norm. He didn't remember hitting the ground, nor did he remember where he was when his eyes began to open on the floor of the world...wherever it was that he had landed. Fog left his vision, but the oppressive weight of this world was upon him. He knew from that alone that he wasn't in the real world anymore, but nothing else about the picture that greeted him made sense. Scrambling to his feet, the leader of the Investigation Team tried to get his wits about him, scanning the room in a flash with only a single thought running through his mind. "Wait, where are the others?" he could see the televisions around him, but there was a staircase nearby that he didn't recognize...the only similar point of reference he could find for the door leading down to it was that of his high school building, but that simply couldn't be right now...could it? No, this was inside the TV, and his friends weren't around. What was going on? What was this place? Were they inside of Babel right now, or...? "We're all divided...does this mean that whoever is behind this doesn't want us to explore together?" the fog in his mind was slowly clearing, but the conclusions and theories were still firing out quickly, his sharp wit on autopilot, "...How could they decide where we end up entering the TV, though? Did we land this way, or were we knocked out and moved?" His thoughts continued a little longer, before a voice nearby sounded from the television...a high-pitched, energetic voice that he knew oh-so-well...but there was something strange about it, and the words that she said didn't make sense to him. His ashen eyes widened, looking around until they found the offending screen and he saw the face that he had hoped was not behind that voice...
"Rise!" he called out, but she didn't answer him, too wrapped up in her introduction...until she passed the microphone along to another high-pitched voice that he recognized...only this one was gleefully introducing them to a fighting Tournament. The Manliest of All Men, huh? In another time, or another setting, it might have really gotten his blood pumping to test himself out. In this case, though, it only made his blood turn a little cold. He couldn't forget, even now, that he was inside of the TV. "And Teddie, too? ...Something's not right. They're acting strange..." it was so much information to take in at once, but one thing was for certain...whoever it was doing the announcing, or forcing them to announce, they had to be the ones behind this Grand Prix. They were, at least, a big part of the problem. Where he could he find them, though? He was about to rumble through some more questions, but a familiar voice sounded again, but a lot closer this time. And the tone he spoke in was much different than before...almost as though it were now surprised to see him after introducing him only moments earlier. Could it really be...?
"Senseeeeeheiheihei! Is it really you?!" it called out, earning a raised eyebrow in the direction of the door and the staircase which had swung open, revealing a furry head of hair peeking out to see him...before throwing the door open and dashing in his direction.
"Huh? Teddie...is that really you? But weren't you just on the television?" his curiosity and suspicions were piqued now, but no sooner had he answered the little furball than he was dashing over in his direction with a big, wide bear-smile...
"I can't believe it! I've been looking all over for you guys! That imposter has been pretending to be me...but I knew you'd come, Sensei!" he cheered, and for a moment Soji was nearly relieved...until the voice continued, changing suddenly in tone, "Oooh, Sensei...you're so strong and cool! Everyone knows that when things get bad, you'll be there to protect us! Of course, I'm not like Yosuke...he's just jealous of that part of you! He can't staaand you always hogging the spotlight...and Kanji's growing really tired of the way that you and Naoto are always solving the mysteries together...but not me! I still admire you the most, Sensei...! I want to be just like you! I want to...surpass you!"
Wait, did Yosuke really say those things...? Was Kanji really mad at him? Jealous? But he thought that they were...no, something was definitely off. Teddie might be careless and say some tactless things like this, but this bear was making fun of them! He was making light of their bonds, and...did this mean that he was really the one on the TV or what? He wondered...but he didn't have time to think before the situation changed, and what the bear said next put him on an instant guard. Little did he know, that the fight was about to begin...
"Sensei...you're the GREATEST! And that's why I have to DEFEAT you!" the bear declared, claws suddenly shimmering ominously in the light, "I'll beat you, knock you down, grind you into the dirt! Then Yuki-chan and Rise-chan will finally see what an indecisive womanizer you are and come with me! Isn't that great, Sensei?"
He couldn't believe what he was hearing...was this...really what Teddie thought about him? "Wait, Teddie...what are you...?"
"Now's not the time for talk! Now is the time for ACTION! LEEEEEEEEEET'S FIGHT!"
The spotlights blared, the voice of 'Rise' on the announcements called out their tasteless titles...
"Here he is, the Beast in Heat...TEDDIE!"
Why? Why was this happening?
...
A flash of claws across his eyes nearly caught him napping, and a trail of red trickled down his face from a thin line torn on the upper portion of his forehead. Was he...seriously going to fight him?
"Teddie, I don't know what's gotten into you...but if you're insistent upon fighting, I don't have any choice, the teen grit his teeth, ignoring the nasty taste this whole thing left in his mouth...and the twisting in his gut at the mere thought of putting his sword to this squishy friend of his, "Forgive me...I won't hold back!" His eyes flashed, a blue card in his hand, and then...
"PERSONA!"
...
The Grand Prix had begun!

Aigis, the Heartless Armed Angel "...Holding the key to the future and knowing how to access it...are two different things entirely..."She had been searching, not very long...but long enough that the absence of her friends here inside of the television had begun to bother her. Ever since they entered her sensors had been thrown into disarray, the very area around her giving off strange sensations of vague danger, but even the readings that she was getting weren't conclusive about any one target. She didn't know where her enemies or allies were, everything was in disarray...until she sensed a presence near her that finally allowed the Heartless Armed Angel to realize that she wasn't alone. "Processing information...access to identification blocked, data file corrupted. You..." her finger pointed at the blue-haired person in front of her, this strange anomaly in her systems something that could only be caused by someone with ill intentions or an ill feeling about them, something that had changed the very nature of their person. The television, the strange creature talking on the monitors, and the weird, studio-like area around them could all become secondary importance at the moment when someone standing before her so close gave off such inconclusive readings. Again she ran through her files to identify his face, but it was as though they had been erased from public record, or merely something in this place was blocking her access. But from the look in his eye and his suspicious tone of voice, Aigis could tell one thing about the person standing in front of her very clearly. "You...are my enemy."
Immediately her fingers retracted and were replaced by the barrels of machine gun-like weapons, her blue gaze shimmering and dangerous, analyzing every bit of information she could gather on this person from the stress levels in his breathing and blood pressure, to the energy signature that he put out. She was a machine designed to fight shadows, and this person before her, no matter what the human guise he wore might say, was...he was a shadow! Or something very close to it... "Shadow energy signature detected within. ...Sir, I request that you stand down, and allow me to assist you in escaping this place. Otherwise, I must identify you as a threat," she warned, though the sick sense that tickled at her circuits told her that this person had no intention of listening to her reason, "...And as a threat, I will be forced to take action to subdue...or eliminate you."

Itachi the Scorpion"What, I don't register as human? Isn't that a little harsh?" Itachi put his hand up in defense, trying to ward Aigis away for a moment. "Woah wait, I'm in serious danger here! I can feel something taking over...ya gotta help me out." He didn't know if his ruse was going to be any good, but it wouldn't help to blurt out his name and challenge her to an honorable duel or anything. This wasn't the samurai era, if you didn't want to die then you had to hit them before they hit you. He didn't know if that really applied to robots, but it couldn't hurt him to try. As she continued to glare his smirk spread into a wide, devious smile, and he wiggled his fingers a bit as if trying to calm the girl down. "Oh, you did it, I feel better already! I can sense my whole life steering back on to the right path! Let me repay you for your kindness..." He had paced closer the whole time, but now the only warning Aigis had was a split second flash of light as he drew his golden colored claw out of his pocket, thrusting his reserved right hand at the SEES veteran. "I love you, now you die!" The Messenger let out a chuckle as he drug golden claws in a horizontal motion, hoping to tear his claws straight through the metal body and leave four parallel openings across the front of the robot's body. Whether she was just as durable as she looked or not, however, was a secret he'd enjoy unraveling.Quote: +Poison Ailment Boost Poison Boost Hustle Ari Dance Assassinate: High Damage vs 1 Foe. Aigis, the Heartless Armed Angel "...Holding the key to the future and knowing how to access it...are two different things entirely..."Not human? She didn't say that he wasn't that, but surely this guy was aware that he was possessed in some manner by a shadow, right? The idea of one of such strong power being inside of him without his knowing was unthinkable, and in her database she couldn't recall information any possession that would have presented in this manner. No, he was aware...his ruse was clever, certainly, but she had detailed files on human mannerisms and reading their intentions from the way that they moved, looked. For most people, even attempting something like a 'poker face' against her was useless...because she wasn't a person, a normal human who became nervous and unable to control her emotions, whose body produced chemicals to cloud her judgment or nervous twitches that would give her away, either. From the moment she had seen this man, she...a machine...had been analyzing him with every bit of information that she could scrap together from what she knew and what the situation told her. And his suspicious ruse, this strange place, the readings of shadows inside of her...everything told her that this man before her was indeed her enemy. His fingers wiggled as he moved closer to her, and her knees bent into a ready stance as he drew within range of her...the man spoke kindly, but everything from his tone to his movements were a warning that her observations would not overlook. He was clenching his fingers inside of his pocket, his disingenuous words set her at the ready...and when he called out his contradictory affection, her blue eyes flashed!
"Ah!" her voice grit suddenly as her metallic forearm blocked the golden claws, but even though she was strong against physical attacks she could feel the force that he had put behind them, nothing to sneeze at whatsoever. Flipping backwards, her android foot aimed to crash under the chin of the man before an inhuman leap sent her flying backwards away from her opponent with fingers at the ready to unleash a hailstorm of bullets, "Initiating combat sequence...Scramble!" She landed at a safe distance from her foe and stood at the ready, not about to let him get that close again until it was to her benefit. If he used claws, he was close-range...but she could fight effectively at any range, allowing her to stay within what she perceived as his weakness. Then again, maybe he would surprise her...this fight was far from being to the point where she could make a solid judgment on that.Quote: Physical Attack - Flipping kick to the chin. [Target: Itachi]

Itachi the ScorpionIf his mouth hadn't been clenched shut then he might have bitten off his tongue as he got hit with the equivalent of a metal bat right under the chin, causing Itachi to recoil back and shake his head to make sure he wasn't unconscious, his head reeling from the strike. Okay, so maybe fighting against someone made for it wasn't that great after all. It just meant she had talent in this area, and talent he could relate to. Though somewhere in her movements he sensed an edge given by both awareness of what her job really was, and by the clarity obtained only through experience."A real pro, huh?" Itachi's left hand shot out and gripped a desk, throwing the furnishing towards the girl to obscure any line of sight (she did have guns after all), while Itachi jumped and landed on the desk nearby, dashing across the surfaces quickly to keep himself well above his 'expected' chest level, a good target, while he closed in. "Yoo-hoo~" As soon as the distraction fell Itachi landed on the ball of his feet, twisting and attempting to throw off Aigis' view as he slipped to the other side (stepping over the gap between desks with nearly unbelievable precision) with a move long practiced when he played basketball. "Keep your eye on the ball, missy!" Itachi jumped towards the girl, leg outstretched towards her body as his Shadow appeared around him, unleashing a wave of blistering heat with his foot that would probably feel plenty threatening for the 'Heartless Angel'.Quote: +Poison Ailment Boost Poison Boost Hustle Ari Dance Fusion Sword (Used this post)

Aigis, the Heartless Armed Angel "...Holding the key to the future and knowing how to access it...are two different things entirely..."If this man was a normal person, he would have been seeing stars from a kick from her legs...the comparisons to metal bats slamming into the guys' chin were quite accurate, though with her advanced physical capabilities she could swing said legs with far more force than your average Home Run Champion. He had endured the blow, though, and for the shuddering impact she had delivered, he was recovered and attacking with surprising speed...her fingers tried to line up a center-mass shot on his chest, but his skilled movements across the desktops made it hard for her to line up the exact shot she wanted. Killing wasn't what she wanted to do in this situation, since the person possessed by the shadow was obviously a human with a 'life' she wanted to protect, but she needed to hit him at least once in an important spot if she wanted to stop his movements and weaken him enough for the shadows to recede, she figured. Her data on Shadow Possession said that it was hard to maintain control of the body if it was too weak to sustain the energy the shadow needed...if she could beat him badly enough, it would lose its hold on him. Or go berserk, like the instance reported from the 'High Noon' incident. She hoped it wouldn't come to that; even a machine like her could have sympathy for her enemies, but even before that came her sense of duty, to stop the shadows from causing harm to people as much as possible. And this man had made the decision, in one way or another, to act opposite to that directive. That was why he had to be stopped...
"Charging...!" her voice, far too human for someone who was supposed to be a robot, called out as the former basketball player lashed a kick in her direction, her arms raising to block it just a moment before she realized something strange was up with his feet...had he just charged them with nuclear energy?! "Initiating evasive maneuvers," she couldn't block the attack and felt it slam into her, white hot energy making her sensors go into overdrive as she flew back and away from him and landed on the ground...but the moment she landed her maneuvers began, a quick bounce towards the televisions that lined one side of the room before a flip across the open area of the field towards the other side. Mid-flight, upside down in the air with blue eyes focused on her enemy she summoned it...a warrior goddess that filled the air behind her and aimed her shield and lance dangerously at her enemy. "I need your halp!" her voice cried as she flew, and Pallas Athena's lance thrust forward, a massive, Golden hand crashing from the ceiling on top of her enemy with an impressive concussive force. God's Hand, it was called...and it hit just like it. She landed on the televisions on the far side of the room and her robotic knees bent, ready to lunge again at that moment...like a predator or a cat, only made of metal.
She was graceful and cold, compassionate and steel all in one package. This was the true nature of the Anti-Shadow Weaponry unit that descended from her predecessor. And it was that predecessor that she had come here to find...to save...to protect...
'Sister, I am here...' she thought as she fought, and she would have been surprised by the unnecessary functions being used for the process of 'thought' if she hadn't begun to do it so very naturally over these last few years. Even as her body remained metal, she had become more and more human until now...unless she went without her coat or uniform, it was impossible to tell that she wasn't. 'Please...wait for me...Labrys.'Quote: God's Hand - Very High Damage. [Target: Itachi]

Itachi the Scorpion"Calling for backup already? That won't do you any good-hggh!" Itachi was closing in on his opponent when the warrior goddess appeared, and the heavy fist slammed down on him, causing the ground underneath to crack and put him down as if it'd been a hammer stroke from the divine. The dust vaulting up from the ground might have obscured sight between the two, but as the form of his shadow flashed for a moment the wind blew it away, disappearing as he attempted to refuse using that power for now. Itachi raised a hand to his shoulder and a sickening popping sound could be heard, drowned out by his mischievous chuckle. "Looks like I was taking you too lightly. That really...REALLY hurt." Itachi sucked in a deep breath through his teeth, and pressed the front of his foot to the ground roughly to push up...or forward, as he sprinted at Aigis suddenly, a blur of blue energy gathering around him. "Alright, tell me how this tastes!" Itachi let out a devilish chuckle as he shot past Aigis, foot hitting the wall, body turning with lightening speed as he crossed her path again, claws digging into the body each time as he passed again and again. As he flashed by one last time the blue energy around him crackled and faded away, as black and dark blue wisps intermingled from the exhaust of his previous attack, which had been tinged with a bit of special power. "You should savor the best prey, after all." Itachi remarked, grinning as he twisted his head to look at Aigis, hinting at the true nature of his attacks, something which he hoped would effect her just the same. But really, if it was trying his poison on a robot, he could say for sure that this was the first time he'd tried...Quote: +Poison Ailment Boost Poison Boost Hustle Ari Dance Fusion Sword (2/5) Triple Venom: 3 medium hits, chance of "Venom".

Soji Seta, The Sister Complex Kingpin of Steel and Teddie, The Beast in Heat "...Show me a hero, and I'll write you a tragedy...""Oooow! Sensei, you didn't have to really hit me!"
A bear whined in futile complaint from the floor of the TV World's entrance, laid out along the tiled floor with plenty of ruffles in his fur and a few cartoonish bandages here and there, but little other evidence of the one-sided beatdown he had just endured at the hands of this silver-haired 'Sensei'. Relief escaped said Senior in a light breath, his hand extending down to catch that of his rotund mascot ally and pull him back to his stubby little feet. His lips curled into an apologetic smile as he ruffled the fur of the bear, even as it pouted at him with those big lens-eyes of his and his mouth...though even to this day he didn't know how Teddie made faces from inside the suit (or how the suit itself made faces without proper muscular structure), it was a relief to see these actions again. They were proof that whatever illusion had come over Teddie before, it was gone now...this was really his good friend. "Teddie...what was all that you were saying before about me? ...And what's going on with this Grand Prix? Wasn't that you on the television before? ...Wait, didn't you say something about an imposter before?" a lot of questions escaped him, but he maintained an admirable level of cool and calm in the face of what seemed to be a fairly compelling mystery. Teddie huffed for a moment, but was back to himself already...growling comically before pointing at the blank monitor where the bear had been taunting them again a moment earlier, along with an obviously-false Rise about his victory and need to move on to the next round. He had no intention of leaving just yet, though. Not until he asked a question or two.
"Huh? What things? I didn't say anything about you, Sensei!" the bear looked genuinely confused, and that alone was enough to make the silver-haired young man's theory about an illusion or doppelgangers a little more on the money, "But still, Haaarumph! Sensei, even you couldn't tell that fuzzy fake wasn't the real me?! I'm so em'bear'assed! I'm 100...no, 1,000 times cuter than him! And my fur is aaaaall-natural! Unlike that faker!" He tried to cross his arms, but the poor little appendages wouldn't reach one another...making his attempt at a serious and thoughtful pose all the more comical. He didn't seem to notice in the least, and aside from a small, amused smirk, Soji didn't seem inclined to mention it. "I remembered coming in yesterday to check up on things, and smelling something beary unusual...so I came to investigate! But when I got here, something hit me and I blacked out! Next thing I remember I was tied up in a locker somewhere inside this school! ...Oh! Ooooh! Do you want to know how I got oooout? It's a really cool stooorryyyy!"
"Not really..."
Teddie's wails filled the halls of the school from the top to the bottom.
"Anyway, I think that fake me might be this girl's shadow! I saw her running through the hallways so I tried to run after her to see if she needed help! But...I got lost, and ended up here, and then you beat the crap out of me!" the bear beamed, far more bright about his butt-kicking than Soji would have ever imagined anyone being...then again, this was Teddie, "Sensei, please go on ahead, and I'll try to find a way to escape here! That girl...if she doesn't have a persona, she might really be in danger! You've got to find her and protect her!"
Despite his strange ways and crazy attitude, Teddie knew when things were really serious and tended to treat them with the proper gravity...this was one of those occasions, and that was all he needed to hear to know he needed to get a move on. His silver head nodded, a confident smile settling upon his features. "Yeah, Teddie. You got it," the Bear nodded in return, and with that the time to move on had come, "Stay here and rest for now. I'll come get you when I can get the invisible barriers down, all right? ...See ya."
The Bear's enthusiastic wave filled him with new-found energy; his feet carried him through the door leading downstairs and into the main building of the school...and the rest of the event that was still to come.Quote: Winner! "The Sister Complex Kingpin of Steel" Soji Seta!

Aigis, the Heartless Armed Angel "...Holding the key to the future and knowing how to access it...are two different things entirely..."It was one of her worst-case scenarios, getting infected with any sort of a virus that sapped her vitality in battle; for obvious reasons, traditional poisons were useless against her mechanical body, but somehow the flashing hits that she had endured relatively well had left her with a lingering feeling of discomfort...a venom inside of her that was apart from the norm, coursing through her. If she hadn't been surprised by his speed before, the sudden feeling of vertigo (or that's how her memory banks would classify what she was sensing) that overwhelmed her and threatened to fry many of her circuits caught her with a very acute sense of helplessness. As an android, illness was something that she had never experienced during much of her existence, which meant that such feelings as being weakened by it, that feeling of something simply being 'not right' inside of her (other than a programming or hardware error) wasn't something she had become accustomed to. Humans reacted to illness by her age with distaste, but with an acceptance built up over many years of the same experiences. For Aigis, however, this sensation was new...and the implications were critical to her battle capabilities. Her health was rapidly draining, which meant that healing spells were only a stopgap...they couldn't sustain her forever...and her persona's physical skills were out of the question as they would put enough stress on her body that together with the poison, she would collapse in a move or two. That was something she couldn't risk in this dangerous circumstance. Her defenses were lower, too, meaning subsequent hits were only going to do more damage...which meant that her options were running dangerously low. Orgia Mode, even, would put such a stress on her that she wouldn't want to chance it...plus, if she were to collapse from exhaustion at the end of that Mode, she would have no way of getting to find help while the poison continued to ravage her circuits.
She was in trouble. That much was clear. However, to give up fighting just yet seemed premature...not when her sister's life was on the line. A sense of imminent need for critical maneuvers filled her, and so when Itachi's third strike finished and he landed, turning to face her, her shoulder was already buried in the soft area of his stomach to knock her back away from the mound of television and just into the range of her finger-mounted machine guns! "Charging!" her voice called out, betraying none of her growing sense of danger as she circled him at speeds he would find quite dizzying for any human being, and unleashed a hailstorm of bullets towards the center of her circular pattern of movement. She was a machine...and that meant that even if she were to call this match, she Mitsuru and the others could recover her and fix her. That didn't mean that she was all right with just halting the fight yet, though. This guy would have to do a little more than just poison her to stop her mission. And she intended to make him pay for every last inch he intended to take from her in the path forward.Quote: Phys Attacks - Machine gun fire. [Target: Itachi] Null: Phys

Itachi the Scorpion"Feeling weak ye-oof!" Oof probably didn't cut it, but having the equivalent of a steel beam slamming into your stomach wasn't really a feeling he could vocalize. The reeling sensation of extreme pain and air getting sucked out of his lungs left Itachi falling back on his knees where he landed, arm wrapped around his stomach as he gasped desperately for air. When she unloaded he put his golden claw up to try and block, and though he deflected a shot or two blood shot out from his side as one passed right under his ribs, and another caught his right arm on the inside where it was uncovered, causing him to let out another shout.A-agh! ******** think I'm just going to let you ruin everything? A Kirijo dog who's been given everything...someone like you!?" It wasn't that he knew her personally, but from Orochi-Hetero the Messengers had learned a great deal about their opponents, both from his encounters with them, and his other means of acquiring knowledge. It hadn't dawned on him at first, when he had been more amicable due to her obvious talent, but as he bled his mind also gripped on to any reason to hate her, things that would piss him off so he'd fight even harder, and by the time he was taking bullets to the gut he'd all but forgotten the camaraderie felt, while visions of a Kirijo tech crew dancing in his head made him feel a sickening hatred for her, and for the fact that even if a regular person like him went down nobody'd care, if someone broke their 'precious' machine then the whole company would have a hissy-fit. Yeah, when he had a bullet in his gut and someone would probably chide him for denting the machine that did it, that was pretty good motivation.
With lungs still burning for air Itachi dashed forward, following the path of her hands, trying to dodge the bullet quite literally. He ducked left and her hand trailed, so he planted his outside foot and shot back to the right only to see her following right behind, and a painful jolt in his left arm throwing that side backwards reminded him of what he was trying to overcome as he took another shot to his free arm, doubling up on the fact she'd just dislocated it a few moments ago. Itachi was speaking through clenched teeth as he started to fall, but pressed his feet against the tiles of the floor and shot within her range finally, in one desperate burst, his arm shooting upwards and deflecting her hands away, leaving the girl wide open."Go. To. Hheeelllll!" His shadow formed around him suddenly, and just as Aigis' warning signals started to blare about the amount of power he'd been hiding beneath his cool facade a wave of nuclear damage exploded outwards, unleashing his spell with whatever force he could muster to drive the girl back instead, hoping to break up their little tete-a-tete and finish her off before he had to suffer anymore of these brutal assaults. ********, trying to save him from his Shadow? Trying to rescue him, and banish that side of him? It was privileged pieces of s**t like her that created him in the first place! Quote: Hustle Ari Dance Heat Kaiser: Very High Nuclear Damage

Aigis, the Heartless Armed Angel "...Holding the key to the future and knowing how to access it...are two different things entirely..."Her gunshots had been successful in hitting the center mass and the arm of her target, but his surprising resistance kept him upright in the face of her assault. She could feel the venom inside of her circuits pulsate and suck the health out of her at the end of her move, temporarily freezing her where she had landed at the end of her chaingun assault. Her blue eye winced as she listened to him protest, thinking of her as someone had been given everything...did he really assume she was someone who had just been given everything on a silver platter? ...The first years of her life had been nothing but tests and modifications, then endless battles against the shadows; she had fought and fought without stop, without care, her sisters dying all around her until she was the only one left that could confront the 13th Arcana on that fateful night when she had sealed it inside of a young Minato Arisato. That night, if only temporarily, she had even saved humanity from destruction...then she had been locked away, placed in a laboratory for the next ten years where she simply waited, waited for activation, for the reason for her life to be shown to her. But when she had been activated again, it was to fight once more. Fight she had, hard and difficult, until the incident where she had been nearly destroyed by Ryoji...but along the way she had finally begun to earn something for herself, to learn what it meant to be alive. It was a realization she had earned over a long, hard road...but even then what was precious to her was taken away by Nyx, the next two years little but a memorial to his memory. Even when he returned, even now, she still struggled to find the words to say to him to let her know what he truly meant to her life. Nothing about her life had been easy...she had been forced to earn the very right to live.
He didn't know the first thing about her, did he? It was almost sad how wildly he fought against someone he didn't even understand, how he fought without knowing the truth. But if he was this far gone, mere words wouldn't get through to him. She considered what she could say, what she could do...but there was nothing at the moment. This guy, if there were others like him inside the television, they needed to reassess the situation and she needed to speak to the others. "What...should I do?" she muttered lowly, but wasn't given the time to consider her options before her attacker was upon her again. This time it was a Nuclear spell, powerful and dangerous, and she knew that if she took such a hit in her current state it was going to leave her in serious peril. No, she couldn't take that hit right now, but she needed to cure this poison before she resumed the fight. This Tournament might not agree with the proper protocol for her to follow at the moment, but rather than standing and continuing a fight that would surely end badly for one of the two of them, this desperate struggle, she needed to step back and study what was going on in this world. She needed to talk to Fuuka, and get in contact with the others...and none of that could be done in the middle of this fight. "Initiating tactical retreat. More information on opponent required before continuing this mission." ...So she leaped back and out of the path of the Nuclear spell, avoiding it deftly, before looking one last time sadly at her foe and lowering her head...wishing she could have done something more for him, despite not knowing what she could even do to help him. Then, she turned her back to him and with her mechanical legs she bounded up the televisions and high into the upper rafters of the lobby, trailing along the steel beams without necessarily leaving the area. But it was enough to take her out of sight and out of the fight, too.
Maybe she couldn't leave the lobby, but it was large enough she could probably find something out about this place. And if she stayed close to where she entered, maybe it would be easier for Fuuka to contact her. She had to hope, at the very least. Then if someone else, or even her sister, came across the lobby while she was watching...she might even have the chance to grab her and end this whole incident peacefully. Yes...this was the right thing to do. For now.Quote: [Aigis] has withdrawn!

Junpei Iori, the Bricklaying Dog Whisperer and Minato Arisato, The Narcoleptic, Childlike Champion "...I won't let you do this to her anymore!...""Aw man! This is bullshit!" a young man's voice whined loudly at the top of the school building where the Television World itself finally seemed to come into view, a hand rubbing at the hat upon his head in disappointment as another young person with sleepy eyes and a mop of blue hair stood before him, smiling faintly at the sight of him, "Mitsuru-senpai finally calls me in for a mission, I kick that Messiah's a**...and all so I can run into you in the second round. Dude, this is messed up! I don't wanna fight you!" For his own part, his opponent seemed to laugh faintly at the lament of his old friend, hand moving to cover his mouth so that Junpei wouldn't be offended. It was true that it was a bit unfair that the two of them had to meet so early in the Tournament, but he had a guess that this was part of the reason for the Grand Prix in the first place. He had already been forced to fight one of Seta's friends and now he was fighting one of his own? It couldn't be a coincidence with that bear and girl running the Tournament, and they both had to have figured that out by now. What was important was figuring out what the bear (who didn't seem like the 'Teddie' Soji had described) was, how to save that girl, and what the point behind all of this weirdness was. Despite that, all Minato Arisato really wanted to do was solve the case and head back home with Mitsuru, preferably to sleep until he could shake this drowsiness. Or they could go to Wild Duck Burger and grab a large Peta-Wac Meal with extra fries...could Mitsuru eat a whole Peta-Wac, he wondered? ...Of course, to any normal person the thought of eating that towering burger monstrosity was impossible, but with his own stomach the idea seemed quite natural. Mitsuru, on the other hand, would probably find it gross. Still, they wouldn't know unless they tried, right? "...Um, helloooo...?" the voice of his longtime friend broke his distraction, delicious thoughts of burgers pushed out of mind, "A little focus here? The rules say only one of us can move on from here. And if you think I'm going to lay down and die for you, you're wrong. I've got something to prove here...so you and I are going to have to fight it out like men!"
It sounded just like the sort of playful, childish thing he might have said a few years ago, but his disposition made it clear that he was quite serious about his intentions. In fact, the hat-wearing young man had taken up his sword and stood in an active position, as if waiting for his best friend to prepare himself for the fight. Junpei...he knew that he wasn't as talented in fighting as Minato, but he was more than capable for any particular mission. Still, he wanted to show that it wasn't a mistake for the others to trust him. He wanted to show how much he had grown. The look in his eye spoke volumes to the ways that he had matured over the last couple of years, but even so, Minato had a sense that he needed this fight...as much for his own confidence as it was to show his skills to the leaders of the Shadow Operatives. Thinking as much, the quiet bluenette silently nodded. ...But his calm acquiescence did not receive the smirk that he had intended. In fact, the reaction he received was almost entirely...unexpected. As if it didn't match up with what he was doing at all.
"Huh? ...T-the Hell did you bring that up for? What happened to Chidori has nothing to do with this!" Junpei called out, clearly shaken for a moment...pain reflected in his eyes before he buried it deep down and glared across the way, "...You're the one who couldn't do anything right! You let Shinjiro-san die! You were the one who left us all behind! We were there for you, and you just left everyone behind to go off on your own. You always felt like you were better than us...Hell, you loved being the hero, getting the girl. You knew that Akihiko-san liked Mitsuru and yet you still went for her, right? You knew Kenji and I were friends, but when s**t went down with that teacher he liked, it wasn't me that he came to about it...it was you! You took everything from the people around you, and you thought because you thought you were some sort of hero you could get away with it! Well I say to Hell with that!" ...Suddenly the conversation had taken another strange turn, and it was Junpei who was firing at him with accusations that hurt, accusations that he didn't understand. ...Was this really the way that people thought about him? Was this the way that they viewed his sacrifices? Did they...? No, no...his shock began to fade and his heart began to fill not with panic or despair...but a renewed hope.
He remembered the look on their faces when he had stepped out of the mist that night at the Dormitory...the tears in their eyes, the way Junpei had clapped him on the shoulder and welcomed him without reservation. These were...his friends. Together they had survived the end of the world and death itself, and nothing, nothing would ever turn them against one another. He believed it...
"...Whoever you are, it's pointless. I know Junpei wouldn't say that," Minato spoke solemnly, voice drifting across the rooftop of the school with a faint smile upon his lips, "Our bonds aren't so weak. And my friend...is strong." That was why he knew he would have to fight at full strength, his sword drawing slowly from his side to settle out before him. He had never imagined he would have to duel Junpei one-on-one like this, but in a way, the prospect kind of excited him. He knew his friend wouldn't be fooled by the illusions...but they still had to fight. But they wouldn't kill one another, and they wouldn't let their spirits be broken. His foot pressed against the floor and he shot along the roof, Junpei echoing his movements and crossing the area to strike at him. The fight had begun...but no matter who won, there would be no regrets and no hard feelings.
That was what being friends was all about, right?
